FOR ENGAGEMENT OF APPRENTICES UNDER APPRENTICES ACT,1961

Baira Siul Power Station, NHPC Limited (A Mini Ratna Category-I, Government of india Enterprise)
invites applications from eligible candidates for undergoing apprenticeship training under
Apprentice Act,1961 in the following trades :

1. Educational Qualifications: As cited above (Eligibility Criteria)

2. Age limit: 18-30 years (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL will be as per the Government
Directives).
3. Candidate who have already Completed their apprenticeship training or terminated their
apprenticeship training mid-way or pursuing apprenticeship in any other organization or any
other units of NHPC are not eligible.
4.Candidates who have obtained their ITI /Technical qualification through distance learning/
part time mode are NOT eligible to apply.
5. Stipend: As per norms of Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and guidelines of Ministry of Skill
Development & Entrepreneurship.
6. Reservation: Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC (NCL) and EWS as per the provision of
Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and guidelines issued by Government in this regard.
7. Preference shall be given as under:
(a) The first priority shall be given to the applicants from Tehsil: Salooni & Churah of District
Chamba, being adjoining areas of Baira Siul Power Station on the basis of their proof of
residence.

(b) The second preference shall be given to the applicants of District Chamba other than Tehsil:
Salooni & Churah.

8. Candidate should be eligible with respect of age criteria and education qualification as
on close date advertisement. Candidates whose result is awaited are not eligible, hence,
need not to apply.

9. The selection for the Apprenticeship Trainee will not create/confer and/or confirm any
right whatsoever for appointment in NHPC Limited.
10. The selected candidates will not be provided with any accommodation (or any other facility).
They will have to make their own arrangements for their stay during the training period.

11. How to apply:-

a) The Candidate must go through the terms & conditions as mentioned in the notification.
b) The candidate must have a valid mobile number & E-Mail ID before applying for apprenticeship.
The eligible candidates should register themselves on Apprenticeship portal at
www.apprenticeship.gov.in and apply through the portal. The Registration number, generated
in the portal should be mentioned in the relevant column of Apprenticeship Application Form of
Baira Siul Power Station.
c) The candidate has to take print out of Apprenticeship Application form and send along with
Passport size photograph, all the self-attested certificates of Educational qualification, ITI Mark
sheets & certificates, Domicile certificate, Caste Certificate, copy of Adhaar card, PAN card etc. to
the below mentioned address by Speed Post/Registered Post/ by Hand within 15 days of the
Notification.

12. Selection procedure:

(a) The eligible and shortlisted candidates will be issued call letter through mail for
interview intimating date/time and venue. Selecion of candidates will be made on the basis
of the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification applicable to the respective
trade, Performance in the Personal Interview and successful verification of their documents.
(b) The weightage to Educational Qualification, Technical Qualification and Personal Interview shall
be 20%, 40% and 40% respectively for final selection.
(c) The selected candidates are required to submit a Medical Fitness Certificate issued by District
Civil Surgeon or equivalent authority before engagement as Apprentice Trainee, as per the
Apprentice Act, 1961.
(d) No TA/DA shall be paid for Personal Interview/verification of documents.

13. Baira Siul Power Station (NHPC Limited) reserves the right to increase/ decrease /cancel the
number of vacancies against trades of apprentice or add or delete any trades in order to fulfill the
minimum requirement of power Station to engage ITI/Graduate/diploma Apprentices or even cancel
this Advertisement/Notification without assigning any reason thereof.
