Chapter 4
Guidelines for the Timetable and
Formula to Analyze performance
To follow the timetable carefully -
● You can change the timetable according to your speed, but I would recommend not to
change the subjects and the things you have to do like map practice.
● The timetable contains quotes that will help you in essays and ethics paper, they have
been repeated, so that you can remember them, and use them when required. Thus,
read the quotes so that you can remember.
● The daily prelim mnemonics and map in the part 1 of the timetable refers to - reading
important mnemonics, reports, state wise list from the Art and Culture Extra’s in
this book - https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09T3Y6ZBR and fact sheets and learning
maps and also practicing them. The daily 15 minutes will be less burdensome and help
you get hold of these important stuff that help in both prelims and mains.
● Maps practice should include drawing maps quickly, specifically Indian maps and full
world maps.
● You might not be able to read all the mnemonics in the given time, so you just have to
read as much as you can and then read the other part in the next given time.
● Many times you will find the time accorded to be less, so bring out some extra time
from your routine. But if you are really willing, trust me you can do this, I did this, and
many times I even studied for 15 hours.
● Sometimes you might be left with extra time, don’t waste it, use it wisely, Time is a very
precious commodity.
● Analyse your performance based on your completion of daily targets. And the score,
in the beginning the score could be very less, don't get disheartened, you will definitely
improve with every revision.
● One extra day has been given for cover up.
● Be attentive give your 100% in following the timetable
● Follow pomodoro technique - 5 minutes break in every 30 minute, it's better to have
10 minutes break in every 1 hour. Breaks are important, as they help in better retention.
Or use Fromodoro technique where you can take a break after sometime when you feel
you are tired, like 10 minutes break after 1 hour.
● Stick your photo in front of your study place, and write down whatever rank you aim for.
Now write down and stick each day's timetable as you begin the day, on your photo, such
that it can be removed, so when you complete your timetable you can remove it and see
your topper photo, this will keep you motivated to complete the day's target.
● Be confident, we all feel every other day that this is hard, but I did it, it's natural to feel
this way, just don’t lose.
● The preparation requires a lot of sacrifices in terms of enjoyment, Check Tushar Gupta’s
answer about this on quora, you will know how much this exam requires.
● I didn’t use my phone for 1.5 years, this is the level required from you.
● While having food you can watch the big picture on RSTV, or discussion on Bharata
First Youtube channel.
● Be ready for everything that appears.

park they represent
https://edubaba.in/national-parks-in-india/

Chapter 6
Important Tricks, Hacks, and
Scientific-Intelligent Guesswork for
Prelims
Paper I
1. When you start reading , solve the questions where you are 80% sure or more sure.
Attending the first round, mark the questions where you are 50% sure or you can
deduce 2 alternatives. DON'T SOLVE THEM, ie don’t fill the answer in the omr
sheet for these
Usually when you are well prepared you might be able to answer 40 questions in
this round, if the paper is hard then it might be about 35.
2. In the second stage try to solve about 40 + questions where you were able to
deduce 2 alternatives and have 50% risk.
Don’t take risks on very difficult questions, like that of ancient history where you
have no idea.
3. In the last stage only take risk If the question seems attendable,
On average you can attend 90 questions, for a normal paper like that of 2020. But in question papers
like 2021 don’t take unwanted risk, there you can attend 80- 85 questions.
You will understand this once you start studying, and solving papers.
Remember - THE WAY YOU CALMLY ATTEND YOUR PAPER ON THE EXAM DAY CAN
MAKE THE WHOLE DIFFERENCE TO GET YOU SELECTED.
Paper II
In this paper with practice you can know if comprehensive passages suit you, because they are risky
for many people.
For passages, always read the questions first and then read the passage, don't try to answer by what
you think, answer according to what the passage says.
For logical reasoning and other questions you can use any good book or the one recommended in the
list.
In this paper more practice will improve your efficiency and score.

Chapter 7
Important Tips for the Mains
In actual mains is the only stage where your efforts get paid, as in prelims and personality stage
(interview) there is a lot of unpredictability.
Important Points:
● The Essay paper doesn’t require any extra preparation. It requires using the knowledge
gained through preparation of other papers. The essays require many dimensions to the
topic. For example the political angle, the economic angle, social angle, international
angle, cultural angle, and many others.
Sir Chandra Mohan Garg’s strategy, and Gaurav Agrawal sir’s strategy are very good.
● The GS papers 1, 2 and 3 are mainly knowledge based and require a good hold of static
and current knowledge. Specifically in GS 2 and GS 3. Topics like Disaster
Management, Judiciary, Art and culture, Modern History and others are important.
● The GS paper 4 - Ethics is highly scoring. More focus should be on case study, and using
your real life examples to give weight to your answers.
● Optional is also very important and can decide your selection. Choose it wisely, and
prepare it well to make it your strength.
● Answer writing framework should be learned. It should include Introduction, Main
points, Conclusion and a way forward.
● Your answers should include definitions, statistics, related committee (if any), any related
judgment, or current developments. Also inc;ude visuals like diagrams, flowcharts, maps
(like to depict the areas of iron and steel industry in GS paper 1 2020) and more.

Chapter 8
Strategy for Phase 1 (135 Days)
In this Phase our target is to finish the Optional syllabus thoroughly, and
also do answer writing for optional. I would also recommend you to solve
some full length tests related to optional.
And we will also complete the full GS syllabus, but not thoroughly, i.e, it
would be like getting acquainted and knowing the basic things, and trying
to do the easy things thoroughly. This will prepare a good base for GS
(General Studies) preparation for both Prelims and Mains.

Chapter 10
Strategy for Phase 3 (75 Days)
In this Phase we will revise all the stuff, and give Exam like Mock tests
for both prelims and Mains.
If anything is left in the syllabus, it has to be completed in this phase.
Since we have completed our syllabus, thus in this Phase our main aim
is to get a strong hold on all the parts and papers of the exam.
Optional, Ethics and Essay will be done in this phase but not in the
final 100 days, so do them thoroughly, i.e., revise them.
