BASURA, PALIT BIGAS PROGRAM

Solid waste disposal is one of the pressing problems that seriously threaten modern
societies of today. The bloating quantity of solid wastes generated is a massive environmental
problem as well as a tremendous concern of everybody. Thus, posts for an effective and
integrated ecological solid waste management.

Pursuant to Republic Act 9003 series of 2000, an act providing for an Ecological
Solid Waste Management program which is under jurisdiction of the Local Government Unit
for the implementation, enforcement of the provisions of the said act

The objective of this program is to implement integrated solid waste management in


many that are protective to human health and the environment and to increase the level of
awareness of the residents of different Barangays in Playan Ciry on practicing 3Rs (Reduce,
Reuse, Recycle) and also ensure an efficient and effective Solid Waste Management System
in their Barangay.

I. Beneficiaries

This Project Proposal will generally benefit the entire community of Barangay Atate
AKAP Village. Specifically, it will serve such as follows:

 Residents- this project will contribute in terms of reducing the struggles of the
residents regarding their monthly rental fee and encouraged them to practice proper
waste segregation at home.
 Barangay Official- The volume of waste in the entire community will decrease.
 Environment- Since plastic pollution is relevant nowadays, this initiative will help to
improve the environment by reducing plastic pollution. The garbage will be utilized
for a purpose rather than being thrown away or burned.

II. Project Mechanics

 This activity is called as BASURA, PALIG BIGAS PROGRAM


 This activity is part of the IEC for Solid Waste Management Program of the
LGU.
 This is open to all Barangay.
 Only dried residual and recyclable waste (pet bottles, tin cans, sando bags,
tetra packs, cigarette butts, food wrappers, candy wrappers, biscuit wrappers,
metallic foil, shampoo and laundry sachets, diapers, papers, Polystyrene
(Styro), generated from AKAP Village shall be exchanged during the
schedule.

 Participating individuals from the Barangay shall exchange their dried residual
waste at the Exchange Center located a Gymnasium of their Barangay every
last Wednesday of the week and they sell it into the associated junkshop.
 This program will run from April to present

 Each individual may be allowed to exchange their Dried residual waste and
recyclable once every week to accommodate all interested residents to avail of
this program.

III. Recommendation
In view of the significance of this activity, may we request the approval of this
project proposal.
