NON-ACADEMIC AWARDS
General Guidelines:
1. Awards of recognition shall be given to a deserving graduating college student of ZSCMST for the current
school year with the following general qualifications:
a. Completed in the college the total number of academic units or hours required in a course with the
number of prescribed years.
b. Have carried the full load prescribed in the curriculum during each semester.
c. Have not been dropped from any of the subjects prescribed in the curriculum.
d. General average grade will be based on specific award applied for.
e. Must have a passing grade in all subjects with no incomplete grades.
f. Good Moral Character certificate
g. Have not committed any offense punishable by suspension or higher sanction according to student
Handbook policies.
2. Deserving graduating students may be nominated by the following:
a. Program Adviser
b. Adviser of an organization
c. Adviser of the school paper
d. Trainer (declamation, elocution, etc.)
e. Coach (sports)
Nominations shall be validated by the Registrar, Student Affairs and approved by the Dean.
3. Nomination forms are available at the Program Adviser.
4. All nomination forms must be duly accomplished and submitted to the Program Adviser together with the
following requirements:
Nomination Form with 2x2 picture
Recommendation letter to represent the school
Relevant Certificates
Photocopies of documentary evidence of activities/programs implemented or participated to support the
nomination.
5. There should be one Nomination Form per Award. Documents attached should be authenticated or certified
true copy by the program adviser.
6. Incomplete requirements or failure to submit on the deadline will not be accepted.
7. Evaluation of grades must be from first to fourth year levels or eight (8) semesters for BS programs and from
first to third year levels or six (6) semesters for non-BS programs.
8. The members of the Non-Academic Awards committee shall evaluate the nomination and shall follow the
general guidelines.
9. The list of awardees shall be submitted to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Title and Criteria for Awards
1. Leadership
The leadership award is given to a student who has exhibited exemplary and meritorious leadership with
evidences through activities/ projects initiated, organized or facilitated in the college. The awardee must
be a student trustee with a General Weighted Average grade of at least 2.0. The student shall be
evaluated by the Supreme Student Council adviser.
CRITERIA
a. Plans and designs relevant activities for the
organization/college
b. Implements planned programs of the organization
c. Organizes and implements projects that will contribute to
the betterment of the college
d. Uses resources wisely
e. Project accomplishment
2. Service
The Service Award is given to a student who has rendered consistent and continuous service to the
organization/college. The awardee must have a General Weighted Average grade of at least 2.5. The
student shall be evaluated by the Supreme Student Council adviser.
CRITERIA
a. Demonstrates initiative and responsibility
b. Develops teamwork and sensitivity to the needs of others
c. Establishes collaborative relationship
d. Quality and relevance of service or work
3. Athlete of the Year
The Athlete of the Year Award must be endorsed by the coach and must have a General Weighted
Average grade of at least 2.5. The student shall be evaluated by the Coach.
CRITERIA
a. Recipient of a number of awards
b. Participate in International, National, Regional &/or Local
sports events.
4. Journalism Award
Award in Journalism is granted to a graduating student who has exhibited exemplary performance in the
field of journalism. The student shall be evaluated by the adviser of the school paper.
CRITERIA
a. Participated in any International, National, Regional, &/or
Local contest
b. Contributed a number of articles published in or outside the
college
c. Membership/Officer ship
5. Proficiency Award
Award for outstanding in the field of specialization. This award is given to student who has exhibited
exemplary skills and achievement in their field of specialization expressed as proficiency. The awardee
must have a grade not lower than 2.50 in their specialized subjects with the highest General Weighted
Average (GWA). The student shall be evaluated by the Program Adviser.
