Application Guideline for Thailand Scholarships (Year 2024)
For Cambodia/Laos/Myanmar/Vietnam
Scholarship information
Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), Thailand, in cooperation with Thai universities invites
nationals of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam to apply for Thailand Scholarships (Year 2024). Up to 139 scholarship
programmes will be offered to qualified candidates from the four aforementioned countries to pursue master’s degrees or
doctoral degrees at Thai higher education institutions.
Item Details
Eligibility Applicants are to meet the following criteria:
- Be nationals of Cambodia/Laos/Myanmar/Vietnam
- Obtain academic qualifications as indicated in the details of study programmes
- Have a good English proficiency
- Be of good health physically and mentally
Universities and fields of study Applicants shall select one of programmes offered by 11 Thai universities as follows:
- Chiang Mai University 2 programmes
- Kasetsart University 20 programmes
- Mae Fah Luang University 15 programmes
- Muban Chom Bueng Rajabhat University 1 programme
- Naresuan University 46 programmes
- Prince of Songkla University 16 programmes
- Siam University 3 programmes
- Southeast Bangkok University 3 programmes
- Suranaree University of Technology 9 programmes
- Thammasat University 4 programmes
- Walailak University 20 programmes

Scholarship benefits - Allowance and accommodation
- A travel expense to and from home country at the beginning and the end of the
scholarship term, respectively
- Coverage of accident and health insurance during the period of scholarship in
Thailand
- Book and supplies
- Tuition and fees
***Applicants are advised to thoroughly read the scholarship details offered by each
university, such as course information, payment, as well as terms and conditions.***
Required Documents For all applicants
- A completed application form with photograph taken within 6 months
- A certified copy of degree certificate
- A certified copy of transcript of records of your previous degree(s)
- 2 letters of recommendation written by faculty members of the home
university
- Birth certificate or national identification card or certified copy of passport
showing date of birth with English translation
- Statement of purpose
- Research proposal or concept paper
- Valid English proficiency test results that indicated in the details of study
programme
- Permission letter for scholarship application for those who are official
governments

Item Details
For those studying in the final semester
- A certificate of student status with an expected date of graduation
* Applicants are advised to thoroughly read the scholarship details offered by each
university that may request for additional documents.
How to apply 1. Applicants can obtain the application form from the Thai universities as indicated in
the details of study programme.
2. Applicants can apply for only one programme and one university. The selection will be
made by a committee of the chosen university. Please see the attachment for essential
details about the study programmes and thoroughly study terms and conditions of
the universities which you are interested before you apply.
3. Applicants may be interviewed by a committee of the chosen university.
4. The selected applicants must submit a result of physical and mental check-up to
the universities prior to commencing study.
5. Applicants applying for doctoral degrees are advised to check with the university if
you are required to have an advisor to supervise your dissertation before you proceed
the application.
Application submission 1. Applicants are requested to directly submit the application form to the universities via
online, e-mail or post as stated in the study programmes.
2. Please check with the university if the details of application submission is not notified
in the study programmes.
Application deadline Application form and all required documents (both the original and electronic copies)
must be received at the Thai universities no later than Friday 15 March 2024. Late
submission of applications or incomplete application form and documents will not be
considered.
