ADAPTATION OF ST LUKE's GOSPEL

INTRODUCTION

THE GOSPEL OF LUKE

Luke:
So many stories have been given and so many tales have been told for over
2000 years concerning the greatest man to ever step foot on earth. Many
people who witnessed or heard the great things of this man have tried
explaining it to the human race. Four of the first Christians put their
explanations in the first four books of the New Testament, The Gospels. One
of them was a very young and ambitious man. A man by the name of Luke.
But who is Luke?
I will tell you.
Luke was born in Antioch Syria, ancient Greece. He was born a Greek and a
Gentile then later converted to Christianity. He’s the first Christian in recorded
history to study medicine so he was a physician. He was an artist, he was a
disciple of Paul and a missionary having travelled with Paul from Jerusalem to
Greece and back. Luke was of course a writer having written the 3 rd gospel,
the Acts of the Apostles and also helped Paul in writing some of his epistles
like the second letter to Timothy.
The death of Luke is mystery, some philosophical scholars say that he died a
peaceful death in his home country, Greece while the catholic scholars
believe that he was martyred by being hung on an olive tree in Thebes,
Greece. The remains of his body are found in the Basilica of Santa Giustina in
Padua, Italy.
That’s Luke, who am I?
I am the modern era Luke and today I am here to guide you through question
1, 2 and 3 of CRE paper 2, which is about 60% of that particular paper. Are
you ready?
We shall divide and analyze it in three parts:
1. Early life and infancy
2. The Galilean ministry
3. The journey to Jerusalem and the Jerusalem ministry.
And I commence,

CHAPTER ONE
LUKE: Inasmuch as many have undertaken to complete a narrative of the
Things which have been accpmplished among us,just as they were
Delivered to us by those who from the beginning were eye
Witnesses and ministers of the word,it seemed good to me also
Having followed all things closesly for some time past,to write an
Orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, that you may
Know the truth concerning the things of which you have been
Informed.
let the story begin, open your ears and listen
1. EARLY LIFE AND INFANCY

THE BIRTH OF JOHN THE BAPTIST FORETOLD

LUKE:in those days of herod, king of judea, there was a priest named zechariah

of the division of abijah and he had a wife of the daughters of Aaron and her
name was Elizabeth .and they were both righteous before God,walking in all the
commandments and ordinances of the lord blameless. But they had no
child, because Elizabeth was barren and both were advanced in years.

APPREANCE OF ANGEL GABRIEL

Luke: now while he was serving as priest before God when his division was on
duty, according to the custom of the priesthood,it fell to himby lot to enter the
temple of the lord and burn incense.and the whole multitude of the pdople were
praying outside at the hour of incense.and there appeared to him an angel of the
lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

(sound effect:intense sound effect)[angel appears)(zechariah is terrified and

Angel: do not bs afraid Zechariah for your prayer is heard, and your wife
Elizabeth will bear you a son and you shall call him John.and you will have joy
and gladness, and many willvrejoice at his birth, for he will be great before the
lord and he shall drink no wine nor strong drink, and he will be filled with the
holy spirit, even ftom his mother's womb.and he willvturn many of the sons of
israel to the lord their God,and he will go before him in the spirit and power of
Elijah,to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the disobedient to the
wisdom of the just.and make ready for the lord a people prepared.

ZECHARIAH:And how shall i know this?for i am an old man and my wife is

advanced in years
ANGEL:i am Gabriel,i stand in the presence of the lord, and i was sent to speak
to you and bring you thid good news.and behold you will be silent and unable to
speak until the day that these things come to pass, because you did not believe
my words, which will he fulfilled in their time.

[sound:intense sound effect[exit angel)

Luke:the people were waiting for zechariah and they wondered at his delay in
the temple.

OUTSIDE(Worshppers,keenling,praying and singing.then...)

Man 1:what might have kept the priest in the temple all this time?
Woman1:i also wonder
Woman2:maybe he has burnt himself in the temple and we are just standing
Man2:lets be patient,he is an ordained man of God.

Luke: when he came out ,he could not speak to them.

Man1: tell us man of God,what has kept you sooo long in there?

Zechariah : (making signs )

Man2:or maybe he has seen a vision in the temple?

All:yes,he must have been.

Luke: and they perceived that he had seen a vision and he made signs to them
and remaibed dumb.
(Worshippers exit the stage singing through the backdoor)(exit zechariah)

Luke:in the sixth month the angel gabriel was sent from God toba city of Galilee

MARY: and how shall i be sure of this for i am a virgin?

ANGEL: the holy spirit will come upon you and the power of the most high will
overshadow you, therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the son of
God.and behold your cousin Elizabeth in her old age is to have a son and this is

of your womb, and why is this granted me,that the mother of my lord should
come to me,that the mother of my lord should come to me? For behold, when the
voice of your greetings came to ears the baby in my womv leaped for joy.and
blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken
to her from the lord

Mary: my soul magnifies the lord, and my spirit rojoices in God my saviour, for

he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden.for behold, henceforth all
generations will call me blessed.for he who is mighty has done great things for
me and holy is his name.and his mercy is on those who fear him from generation
to generation. He has shown strength witg his arm,he has scattered the proud in
the imagination of their hearts.he has put down the mighty from their thrones
and exalted those of low degree: he has filled the hungry with good things, and
the rich he has sent empty away.he has helped his servant israel,in
remembrance of his mercy,as he spoke to our fathers,to abraham and to his
posterity for ever

Luke: after this ,mary stayed with elizabeth for about 3months and returned to
her home.

THE BIRTH OF JOHN THE BAPTIST

Luke: now the time came for elizabeth to be delivered and she gave birth to a
son,and her neighbours and kinsfolk heard that the lord had shown great mercy
to her and they rejoiced with her,and on the 8th day(enter neighbours

child, and they would have named him Zechariah after his father.

Man1: being a humbled day for us as relatives, having heard the good news that
the lord has done, its time we name the child.
Woman:its good we name the child zechariah just as the father is.

Man2: your guess is good as mine

All: yes lets go by the name zechariah
Elizabeth: no my child is to be called john
Woman2: but aunt, none of your kindred is called by that name.
Elizabeth:ok,you right but my child is to be named John,it is that simple

ALL: eeeee!!! What???

Zechariah:(tongue losens, speaks)intense sound effect in a spur of a moment

Man2: what will this child be then.

Zechariah:blessed be the lord God of israel for he has visited and redeemed his
people, and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant
David,as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from the old, that we should
be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all who hate us,to perform the
mercy promised to our fathers and to rememver his holy covenant, the oath
which he swore to our father abraham,to grant us that we being delivered from
the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear,in holiness and
righteousness before him all the days of our life.(turning to the child)
And you child will be called the prophet of the most high, for you wil go before
the lord to prepare his ways,to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the
forgiveness of their sins, through the tender mercy of our God,when the day shall
dawn upon us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the
shadow of death to guide our feet into the way of peace.(all exit)

Eliah:say, you are very young to be by yourself.where are your parents?

Jesus: you know your sermon today about abraham,do you think that his
justification came as a result of his faith in the ultimate purpose of God or his
belief in the system or reconcialliation
Eliah: [mouth wide open) waaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Jesus: when abraham believed God was it just for the things in the transient
present or did he belueve in the sacrificial system itself?

Eliah: well,Thats excellent question,its very hard question.as a matter of fact i

with God and man.

CHAPTER3.
JOHN THE BAPTIST PREPARES THE WAY
John:A voice calling in the desert, prepare the way for the Lord, make
Straight paths for him.
Every valley shall be filled in,
Every mountain and hill made low
The crooked roads shall become straight
The rough ways smooth and all mankind will see God's salvation.
You brood of vipers who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Produce
fruit in keeping with Repentance. And do not begin to say we have as our father.
For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.
The Axe is already at the root of the trees and every tree that does not produce
good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

Man1: WHAT SHOULD WE DO THEN?

John the Baptist :the man with two tunics should share with him who has none
and the one who has food should do the same.

Tax collectors:we tax collectors what should we do?

John the baptist:Dont collect any more than you are required to
Soldiers :What of we soldiers what should we do?
John the Baptist :do not extort money falsely be content with your pay.
I baptise you with water. But one more powerful than I is to come. The
thongs of whose sandals am not worthy to untie. He will baptise you with the
holy spirit and with fire. His winnowing folk is in his hand to clear his threshing
floor and to gather the wheat into his barn. But he will burn up the chaff with
unquenchable fire
(JESUS BAPTISED, GOD'S VOICE: THIS IS MY ONLY SON WHOM I
LOVE. WITH HIM I AM WELL PLEASED.)

LUKE:AS all the people were being baptized jesus also came to be pabtized, and
as he was praying, heavens opened and the holy spirit descended upon him in the
bodily form of a dove and a voice from heaven was heard acknowledging ,thou
art my belovedc son, with thee I am well pleased

2THE GALILEN MINISTRY

Vs 23
JESus began his ministry when he was about 30years of age, being the son as
supposed of joseph, the son of Heli, the son of matthat, the son of levi, the son of
melchi, the son of nathan, the son of david, the son of jesse, the son of obed, the son
of boaz, the son judah, the son of jacob, the son of isaac, the son of abraham, the son
of terah, the son of shem, the son of noah, the son of lamech, the son of
methuselah, the son of enoch, the son of enos, the son of seth, the son of adam and
of course he was the son of God.

CHAPTER 4.
THe TEMPTATION OF JESUS

LUKE:Jesus full of the holy Spirit returned from the Jordan and was led by the
spirit in the desert, where for forty days and nights he was tempted by the
Devil. He ate nothing during those days , and at the end of them he was hungry

DEVIL:If you are the son of God,tell this stones to become bread

Jesus: It is written,Man does not live on bread alone.Satan flee away from me

Luke:The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the
kingdoms of the world

Devil: I will give you all their authority and splendour for it ihas been given to
me and I can give it to anyone I want to .so if you worship me it will all be yours.

Jesus:it is written worship the Lord your God and serve him only.

Luke:The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of
the temple

Devil: if you are the son of God, throw yourself down from here. For it is written
he will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully, they will lift
up their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

Jesus: It says Do not put the Lord your God to the test.

LUKE: When the devil had finished all this tempting,he left him until an
opportune time.

JESUS then returned to Galilee in the power of the spirit, and the news about
Him spread through the whole countryside. He taught in their synagogues and
Everyone praised him.
He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up and on the Sabbath day he
went into the synagogue as was his custom.

JESUS: The spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach
good news to the poor.he has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and
recovery of sight for the blind,to release the opposite,to proclaim the year of the
Lord's favor.
(Before sitting down)
Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.

Man 1:(,murmurs) isn't this Joseph's son?

Mab2:of course he is
JESUS: surely you will quote this proverb to me, physician heal yourself.do here
in your home town what we have heard that you did in capernaum.i tell you the
truth.no prophet is accepted in his home town.I assure you that there were many
widows in Israel in Elijah's time, when the sky was shut for three and half years
and there was a severe famibe throughout the land yet Elijah was not sent to any
of them but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon.
And there were many Israel with Leprosy in the time of Elisha the prophet yet
not one of them was cleansed only Naaman the Syrian.

(Furiously taken to a high cliff to throw him down,)

LUKE;REASONS WHY JESUS WAS REJECTED IN HIS OWN HOMETOWN

1. HE annoyed the people by telling them that their forefathers rejected God,s
prophets
2. He failed to perform the kind of miracles that he had performed in
capernaum
3. He told the peop;e that prophets are ignored in their own country
4. He declared that he had come to fulfil isaiah’s prophecy concerning the
messiah
5.

LUKE: :He went to Capernaum,a town in Galilee and on the Sabbath began to
teach the people.they were amazed at his teaching because his message had
authority.in the synagogue there was a man possessed by a demon

Man:(crying out) Ha! What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you
come to destroy us! I Know who you are- the holy one of God.
Jesus: Be quiet!! Come out of him.

CHAPTER 5

Luke: Jesus calls his first Disciples

One day as Jesus was standing by the lake of Gennesaret with the people
crowding round him and listening to the word of God,he saw at the waters edge
two boats.

JESUS:(to Simon) put out into the deep water and let down the nets for a catch
Simon: Master we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But
because you say so I will let down the nets.
(Catch of miraculous fish)

Simon:(to Jesus) Go away from me Lord I am a sinful man.(kneeling at Jesus

feet)
JESUS:don't be afraid... from now on you will catch men . follow me

Luke:one day as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law who had
come from every village of Galilee and from judea and Jerusalem, were sitting
there. And the power of the Lord was present for him to heal the sick. Some men
carrying a paralytic on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him
before Jesus. When they could not find a way they went up on the roof and
lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd

JESUS: friend,your sins are forgiven.

Pharisee: who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but
God alone!

JESUS: why are you thinking this things in your heart? Which is easier to say?
Your sins are forgiven or to say get up and walk? But that you may know that
the son of man has authority on Earth to forgive sins...(to the man) I tell you get
up take your mat and go home.

Luke: after this Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name Of Levi
sitting at his tax booth
Jesus: follow me (to the man)

Luke: Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house and a large crowd of tax
collectors and others were eating with them.

Pharisee: Teacher why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?

JESUS:it is not the healthy who need a doctor but the sick.i have not come to call
the righteous but sinners to repentance.

Pharisee 2: Teacher John's Disciples often fast and pray and so do the disciples
of the Pharisees but yours go on eating and drinking.

JESUS: can you make the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them?
But the time will come when the bridegroom Will be taken from them in those
days they will fast.
No one tears a patch from a new garment and sews it on a old garment and the
partch from the New will not match the old .and no one pours new wine into old
wineskins.if he does the new wine will burst the skins ,the wine will run out and
the wineskins will be ruined.

LUKE: and on another Sabbath he went into the synagogue and was teaching
and a man was there whose right hand was shriveled.the Pharisees and the
teachers of the law were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus so they watched him
closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath. But Jesus knowing their thinking .

JESUS:up and stand in front of everyone.

Man:(stands)

JESUS: I ask you which is lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil? To

save life or to destroy it?
Stretch out your hand..be clean.

Luke: one of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray and spent the
night praying to God.when morning came he chose 12 of them who he also
designated as apostles

.CHAPTER 6

Jesus:Simon Peter, Andrew, James,John,Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew,Thomas,

James son of Alphaeus ,Simon the zealot,Judas son of James,Judas Iscariot.

BLESSINGS AND WOES

you in heaven. For their ancestors did the very same things to the prophets.
BUT HOW TERRIBLE for you who are rich now you have had your easy life.
How TERRIBLE for you who are FULL now you will go hungry.
How TERRIBLE for you who laugh now you will mourn and weep.
How TERRIBLE when all people speak well of you their ancestors said the very
same things about the false prophets.

LOVE FOR ENEMIES

But I tell you who hear me;love your enemies do good to those who hate you.
Bless those who curse you and pray for those who mistreat you.
If anyone hits you on one cheek let him hit the other one too
If someone takes your coat let him have your shirt as well
Give to everyone who ask for something and when someone takes what is yours
do not ask for it back.
Do for others just what you want them to do for you
If you love only the people who love you why should you receive a blessing?
Even sinners love those who love them.
Love your enemies and do good to them, lend and expect nothing back.
You will then have a great reward and you will be children of the most high
God.for he is good to the ungrateful and the wicked.
Be merciful just as your father is merciful.

JUDGING OTHERS

Do not judge others and God will not judge you

Do not condemn others and God will not condemn you
Forgive others and God will forgive you
Give to others and God will give to you.
Indeed you will receive a full measure,A generous hand poured into your hands
all that you can hold.
The same measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you.
One blind man cannot lead another one if he does they will both fall into a ditch.
No pupils are greater than their teacher, but all pupils when they have completed
their training will be like their teacher.
Why do you look at the speck in your brothers eye but pay no attention to the log
in your own eye?
How can you say to your brother please brother let me take that speck out of
your eye,yet you cannot even see the log in your own eye?
You hypocrites first take the log out of your own eye and then you will be able to
see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

A TREE AND ITS FRUITS

A healthy tree does not bear bad fruits, nor does a poor tree bear good fruits
Every tree is known by the fruits it bears.
You do not pick figs from thorn bushes or gather grapes from bramble bushes.
A good person brings good out of the treasure of good things in his heart;a bad
person brings bad out of his treasure of bad things.
For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

THE WISE AND FOOLISH BUILDERS

Why do you call me Lord Lord yet you do not do what I tell You?
Anyone who comes to me and listens to my words and obeys them i will show
what he is like.
He is like a man who in building his house dug deep and laid the foundation on
rock.
The river flooded over and hit that house but couldn't shake it because it was
well built.
But anyone who hears my words and does not obey them is like a man who built
his house without lying a foundation when the flood hit that house it fell at one
and what a TERRIBLE crash.

CHAPTER 7

Luke: The Faith of the CENTURION

When he had finished saying all this in their hearing.he entered
Capernaum.there a centurion's servant whom his master valued highly was sick
and about to die.The centurion had of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to
him.

Elder1: teacher our masters servant is Soo I'll . kindly we beg you to come heal
him.this man deserves to have you do this because he loves our nation and has
built our synagogue

Luke: so Jesus went with them.he was not far from the house when the
Centurion sent friends to him.

Friend 1: lord don't trouble yourself for I do not deserve to have you come under
my roof .that is why I did not consider myself worthy to come to you .but say a
word and my servant will be healed.for I myself am a man under authority with
soldiers under me.i tell this go and goes.and that one come and he comes. I say to
my servant do this and he does it.

Jesus: I tell you I have not found such faith Even in Israel.Go the servant is well.

LUKE: Soon afterwards,Jesus went to a town called Nain and his disciples and a
large crowd went along with him.as he approached the town gate a dead person
was being carried out the only son of his mother and she was a widow.

Jesus:(to the widow) don't cry

(Touching the coffin)
Young man I say to you get up
Man 1:a great prophet has appeared among us

Luke: and the news about him spread throughout judea.

And John's Disciples told John the Baptist about all these things.
Calling two of them he sent them to the Lord .

JOHN THE BAPTIST: (calling two of his disciples) go to the Lord and ask him
if he is the one who was sent to come or should we wait for someone else.
JOHN'S DISCIPLES: (to Jesus) John sent us to ask are you the one who was
sent to come or should we expect someone else?

JESUS: (healing the sick) Go back and report to John what you have seen and
heard. The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have Leprosy are cured
and deaf hear, the dead are raised and the good news preached to the poor,
Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me.

Jesus:(to the crowd) what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes?
No those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces but
what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes I tell you and more than a
prophet.this is the one about whom it is written
I will send my messages ahead of you who will prepare your way before you.I
tell you among those born of women there is no one greater than John yet the
one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.to what then can I
compare the people of this generation!? What are they like? They are like
children sitting in the market place and calling out to each other
we played the flute for you and you did not dance.we sang a dirge and you did
not cry.for John came neither eating bread nor drinking wine and you say he
has a demon.the son of man came eating and drinking and you say he is a glutton
and a drunkard,a friend of tax collectors and sinners
But freedom is proved right by his children.

Luke: now one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him.he inclined
at the table.a woman who had lived a sinful life that town learned that jesus was
eating at the Pharisees house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume and she
stood behind him at his feet weeping.

Woman:(weeping and crying wiping her tears with her hair, and applying
perfume)

Simon the pharisee: (to himself)

If this man is truly a prophet he would know who is touching him and
what kind of woman she is that she is a sinner.

Jesus: Simon, I have something to tell you.

Simon: tell me teacher

Jesus: two men owned money to a certain money lender .one owed him five
hundred denarii and the other fifty . neither of them had the money to pay
back.so he cancelled the debts of both .now which of them will love him Most?
Simon the pharisee: I suppose the one who had the bigger bigger debt cancelled.
Jesus: you have judged correctly.do you see this woman! I came to your house
you did not give me water for my feet but she has wet my feet with her tears and
wiped them with her hair.you did not give me a kiss but this woman from the
time I entered has not stopped kissing my feet.therefore I tell you her many sins
have been forgiven for she loved much.but he who has been forgiven little loves
little .
Jesus: ( to the woman) your sins are forgiven

Man 15: who is this who even forgives sins?

Jesus: your faith has saved you go in peace.

Luke: after this Jesus travelled about from one town and village to another
proclaiming the good news and the kingdom of God The twelve were with him
and also Magdalene, Joanna the wife of chuza,Sussana

Jesus:PARABLE OF THE SOWER: Once there was a man who went out to sow
grains.as he scattered the SEED in the field some fell ALONG THE PATHS
where they were stepped on and the birds of the air ate them up.
Some of it fell on ROCKY GROUND and when the plants sprouted they dried
up because the soil had no moisture.
Some of the seeds fell AMONG THORNS and BUSHES which grew up with the
plants and choked them.
Some fell on GOOD SOIL the plants grew and bore grains 100 grains each.
Listen then if you have ears what then is the meaning of this PARABLE.
The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you but to
the rest it comes by means of parables so that they may look but not see and listen
but not understand. This is what the PARABLE means.
The SEED is the word of God
The SEED that fell ALONG the paths stand for those who hear but the devil
comes and takes the message away from them in order to keep them away from
believing and being saved.
The SEED that fell on ROCKY GROUND stands for those who hear the message
and receive it gladly but it does not sink deep into them.
THEY believe only for a while but when the time of testing comes.they fall away.
The SEED that fell on thorn bushes stand for those who hear the word of God
but the worries and riches and pleasures of this world crowd in and choke them
and their fruits never ripens.
The SEED that fell on GOOD SOIL stands for those who hear the word of God
and retain the message in a good and obedient heart and they persist until they
bear fruits.

Luke: A lamp on a stand

Jesus:(8:16-18) no one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a
bed.instead he puts it on a stand so that those who come in can see the light.for
there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed and nothing concealed that will
not be known or brought out into the open.therefore consider carefully how you
listen .whoever has will be given more;whoever does not have even the little he
thinks he has will be taken from him.

Luke: now jesus' mother and brothers came to see him but they were not able to
see him because of the crowd.

Man 16: ( to Jesus) your mother and brothers are standing outside wanting to see
you.
Jesus: my mother and brothers are those who hear God's word and put it into
practice.

LUKE: then Jesus said to his disciples.

Jesus: let's go over to the other side of the lake

Luke: so they got into a boat and set out as they sailed he fell asleep.a storm
came down on the lake so that the boat was being swamped and there was great
danger.

(AT FIRST JESUS IS ASLEEP,the disciples are drowning, they do not recognize

that they came with JESUS.. after a while Peter Recalls that JESUS is with them
in the boat,ASLEEP.they wake him up)

Peter: master! Master! We are going to drown.

Jesus: I rebuke you.i command you to stop.
(To the disciples) where is your faith?

Luke: they sailed to the region of Gerasenes which is across the lake from
Galilee . when jesus stepped ashore he was met by a demon possessed man from
the town.for a long time this man had not worn clothes or lived in a house but
lived in Tombs

Man: what do you want with me Jesus son of the most high God? I beg you don't
torture me?

Jesus:what is your name?

Man:Legion.we beg you to let us go into the pigs

Jesus: Permission granted
Jesus:(to the man) return home and tell how much God has done for you.
Luke: now jesus returned a crowd welcomed him.

JAIRUS: Master I beg you to come to my house my twelve year old daughter is
dying.

Jesus:Who touched me?

Peter: Master , the people are crowding and pressing against you.
Jesus: someone touched me.i felt power leave me

Bleeding woman: (trembling) teacher I had been bleeding for 12 years now I
knew by touching your clock I will receive healing.
Jesus: daughter your faith has healed you Go in peace.

Man 22:(to JAIRUS) ruler don't bother the master for your daughter is dead.
Jesus: don't be afraid just believe and she will be healed.

Jesus: Peter,John and James Jairus follow me

AT JAIRUS HOUSE
(mourning and wailing)
Jesus: stop wailing she is not dead but asleep

(Everyone laughing)
JESUS: my child get up.
Do not tell anyone what has happened.

JESUS SENTS THE 12(TWELVE)DISCIPLES

Luke: Jesus later called the 12 together,he gave them power and authority to
drive out all demons and to cure diseases. He sent them out to preach the
kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

Jesus: Take nothing for the journey,no staff,no bag no bread no money no extra
tunic.whatever house you enter stay there until you leave that town.if people do
not welcome you leave their town as a testimony against them .

LUKE: and so Herod heard of this news and he was perplexed because some
people said that. John had risen from the dead others that Elijah had appeared
but Herod Thinking to himself that he had beheaded John who they could this
be.and Herod tried to see Jesus.
And now when the apostles returned they reported to Jesus what they had
done. Then Jesus took with them to a town called called Bethsaida and the
crowds folled Him to listen to him speak and teach.
PETER: master send the crowds away so they can go to the surrounding villages
and countryside to find food and lodgings because we are in a remote place here.

JESUS: you give them something to eat

JUDAS:but we have only 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish- unless we go and buy food
for all this crowd.they are about 5000 men .

Jesus: make them sit down in groups if fifty each

(Took the meal blessed and have to them)
Peter: master we have 12 baskets as left overs.

Luke: when jesus was praying in a private place and his disciples were with him.

Jesus: who do the crowds say I am?

James: some say you are John the Baptist

Judas: some Elijah

John: others one of the prophet of long ago has come back to life

JESUS: but what about you? Who do you say I am?

Peter: the Christ of God

Jesus: do not tell anyone this .The son of man must suffer many things and be
rejected by the elders ,chief priests and teachers of the law and he must be killed
and on the third day be raised to life.
If anyone would come after me he must deny himself and take up his cross daily
and follow me.for whoever wants to save his life for me will save it.what good is
it for a man to gain the whole world and yet lose it or forfeit his very self? If
anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the son of man will be ashamed of him
when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the father and of the holy angels.i
tell you the truth, some of you are standing here will not taste death before they
see the kingdom of God.

LUKE: ABout 8 days after these sayings,he tokk with him peter ,john and james
to the mountain to pray.THE TRANSFIGURATION.
He asked the disciples to pray but they fell asleep.as he was praying the
appearance of his countenance was altered and his garment became dazzling
white and behold two men were seen speaking to him, moses and elijah.moses
represented the law while elijah represented the old testament prophets.they had
appeared in glory and they were speaking about his departure which he was to
accomplish in jerusalem.the disciples who were heavy with sleep wakened and
saw his gloruy and the two men who stood with him.as the men were
departing, peter went to jesus and said, master it is well that we are here, let us
make 3booths,one for you one for moses and one for elijah/ase said this a cloud
came and overshadowed them then a voice came out of the cloud saying this is
my son my chosen one listen to him.

LUKE:The next day when he came down from the mountains a large crowd met
him .A man in the crowd called out ,

Man 30:teacher I beg you to look at my son,for he is my only child.a spirit seizes
him and he suddenly screams .it throws him into covulsions so that he foams at
the mouth.it scarcely ever leaves him and is destroying him. I
begged your disciples to drive it out but they could not.

Jesus: o unbelieving and perverse generation.how long shall I stay with you and
put up with you? Bring your son here.
(After healing)
Listen carefully to what I am about to tell you:the son of man is going to be
betrayed into the hands of men.

Luke: an argument started among the disciples as to which of them would be the
greatest.jesus knowing their thoughts took a little child and made him stand
beside him.

Jesus: whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me welcomes the
one who sent me.for he who sent me is least among you all-
JOHN: Master we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we tried to
Stop him because he is not one of us.
JESUS:do not stop him for whoever is not against you is for you

Luke: as they were walking along the road a man said to Jesus

Man 31:Master I will follow you wherever you go

Jesus: foxes have holes and birds have nests but the son of man has nowhere to
lay his head.

Jesus:(to man 32) follow me

Man 32: lord FIRST let me go and bury my father
Jesus: let the dead bury their own dead but you go and proclaim the kingdom of
God.

Man 33: I will follow you lord but first let me go back and say goodbye to my
family.
Jesus: no one who puts his hand to the plough and looks back is fit for the service
in the kingdom of God.

CHAPTER 10
JESUS SENTS THE 72 APOSTLES
Luke:After this the Lord appointed 72 others and sent them two by two ahead of
him to every town and place where he was about to go

Jesus: the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.ask the Lord of the harvest
therefore to send out workers into his harvest field.Go! I am sending you out like
lambs among wolves.Do not take a purse or bag or sandals and do not greetings
anyone on the road.
When you enter a house first say , peace to this house..if a man of peace is there
your peace will rest on him. If not ,it will return to you.
Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you for the worker
deserve his wages.do not move around from house to house.
When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is set before you.heal the sick
who are there and tell them ,the kingdom of God is near you .but when you enter
a town and are not welcomed,go into it's streets and say even the dust off your
town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you.yet be sure of this .The
kingdom of God is near.i tell you .it will be more bearable on that day for sodom
than for that town.
(72 goes out)

Wow to you korazin!

Wow to you Bethsaida! For if miracles that were performed in you had been
performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented ago sitting in sackcloth
and ashes.but it will be more bearable for tyre and Sidon at the judgement than
for you.and you Capernaum, will you be lifted up to the skies? No,you will go
down to the depths.
He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who
rejects him who sent me.
(72 returns)
Apostle 1:lord even the demons submit to us in your name.
Jesus:I saw Satan fall like lightening from heaven.i have given you authority to
trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy.
Nothing will harm you . however do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you but
rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
I praise you father lord of heaven and Earth because you have hidden these
things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.yes father
for this was your good pleasure.
All things have been committed to me by my father no one knows who the son is
except the father and no one knows who the father is except the son and those to
whom the son chooses to reveal him.
Blessed are the eyes that see what you see for I tell you that many prophets and
Kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it and also to hear what you
hear but did not hear it.

Luke: on one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test JESUS.

THE PARABLE OF THE GOOD SAMARITAN
Expert of the law:teacher what must I do to inherit eternal life?

Jesus:what is written in the law?how do you read it?

Expert of the law: love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your
soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and love your neighbour
as you love yourself.

Jesus:you have answered correctly do this and you will live.

Expert of the law: AND WHO IS MY NEIGHBOUR?

JESUS:a man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he fell into the
hands of robbers.they stripped him of his clothes beat him and went away
leaving him halfdead.A priest happened to be going down the same road and
when he saw the man he passed by on the other side.So too a levite when he came
to the place and saw him he passed by on the other side.but a Samaritan as he
travelled came where the man was and saw him took pity on him.he went to him
and bandaged his wounds pouring on oil and wine.then he put the man on his
own donkey brought him to an inn and took care o f him.the next day he took
two silver coins gave them to the innkeeper and said to him take care of
himwhen I return I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.
Now which of this three do you think was a neighbour to the man who fell into
the hands of robbers?

Expert of the law: the one who had mercy on him.

JESUS:GO AND DO LIKEWISE.

Luke: AT THE HOME OF MARY AND MARTHA ..as Jesus and his disciples
were on their way,he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened
her home to him.she had a sister called mary who sat at the Lord's feet listening
to what he said.but martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be
made.

Martha: lord don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by
myself.tell her to help me.
Jesus:Martha martha.you are worried and upset about many things but only one
thing is needed Mary has chosen what is better and it will not be taken away
from her.

CHAPTER 11.
Luke: one day Jesus was praying in a certain place.when he finished one of his
disciples asked him to teach them how to pray.

Jesus: when you pray say

Father hallowed be the name,
Your kingdom come
Give us each day our daily bread
Forgive us our sins
For we also forgive everyone who sins against us
And lead us not into temptation.

suppose one of you has a friend and he goes to him at midnight and says…friend
lend me 3 loaves of bread because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me

and I have nothing to set before him..then the one inside answers don’t disturb
me the door is already locked and my children and I are already in bed.i tell
though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend yet
because of the man's boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
So I say to you Ask and it will be given to you.seek and you will find.knock and
the door will be opened to you. For everyone who ask receives.he who seeks
finds.and he who knocks the will be opened.

Which of you father’s if your son asks for a fish will give him a snake instead? Or
if he asks for an egg will give him a scorpion?if you then though you are evil
know how to give good gifts to your children..how much more will your father in
heaven give the Holy spirit to those who ask him!..

Luke: Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute , when the demon had left

Man 34:by Beelzebub the prince of demons he is driving out demons.

Jesus: any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined and a house divided
against itself it will fall.if Satan is divided against himself how can his kingdom
stand?I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebub.now if I
drive out demons by Beelzebub by whom do your followers drive them out? Your
followers prove that you are wrong.but if I drive out demons by the finger of God
then the kingdom of God has come to you.
When a strong man fully armed, guards his own house his possessions are
safe.but when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him he takes away the
armor in which the man trusted and divides up the spoils.he who is not with me
is against me and he who does not gather with me,scatters.
When the unclean spirit has come out of a man, he passes through waterless
places seeking rest, and finding none he says, 'i will return to my house from
which I came.' And when he comes he finds it swept and put in order. Then he
goes and brings 7 other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter and dwell
there, and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first.
Jesus:This is a wicked generation.it asks for a sign but none will be given to
them except the sign of Jonah.just as Jonah was a sign to the people of Nineveh
so shall the son of man be a sign to the people of today.
The Queen of the South will rise at the judgement day with the men of this
generation and condemn them. For she came from the ends to listen to
solomon's wise sayings and now one greater than Solomon is here. The men of
Nineveh will stand up at the judgement day with this generation and condemn
it.for they repented at the preaching of Jonah.and now one greater than Jonah is
here.
No one lightsa lamp and puts it in a bowl.instead he puts it on a stand so that
those who come in may see the light.your eye is the lamp of your body.when your
eyes are good your whole body is full of light.but when they are bad your body is
full of darkness.
See to it then that the light within you is not darkness. If then your whole body is
full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with
it's rays gives you light.

THEY EXIT AND ENTER INTO A PHARISEES HOUSE. FOOD IS BROUGHT

AND THE SERVANTS CLEAN THE GUESTS' HANDS BUT JESUS EATS
WITHOUT CLEANING THE HANDS.

Now then you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish But inside you are
FULL of greed and wickedness.you foolish people.did not the one who made the
outside make the inside too? Give what is inside the dish to the poor and
everything will be good for you.
Woe to you Pharisees because you give a tenth of your mint but neglect justice
and the love of God.you should have practised the latter without leaving the
former undone.
Woe to you Pharisees because you love the most important seats in the
synagogues and greetings in the market places.
Woe to you because you are like unmarked graves which men walk over without
knowing it.

Experts of the law; teacher, in saying this you reproach us also.

And to you experts in the law woe to you because you load people down with
burdens they can hardly carry and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help
them.
Woe to you because you build tombs for the prophets yet it was your forefathers
who killed them. So you are witnesses and consent to the deeds of your fathers.
For they killed them, and you built their tombs.
Therefore also the wisdom of God said, ' I will send them prophets and apostles,
some of whom they will kill and persecute. that the blood of all the prophets,
shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation.
From the blood of Abel, to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the
altar and the sanctuary. Yes I tell you, it shall be required of this generation.
Woe to you lawyers, for you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not
enter yourselves and you hindered those who were entering.

CHAPTER 12

JESUS:BE ON YOUR GURD against the yeast of the Pharisees which is

hypocrisy.there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed or hidden that will
not be made known.what you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight
and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed
from the roofs.
I tell you my friends do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that
can do no more.but I will show you whom you should fear.
Fear him who after killing of the body has the power to throw you into hell.yes I
tell you fear him..are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them
is forgotten by God.
Why? Even the hair on your head are all numbered. Fear not, you're of more
value than many sparrows.
And I tell you, anyone who acknowledges me before men, the son of man also,
will acknowledge him before the angels of God. But he who denies me before
men, will be denied before the angels of God.
Everyone who speaks a word against the son of God will be forgiven but anyone
who blasphemes against the holy spirit will not be forgiven.
When you are brought before synagogues rulers of the law and authority do not
worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say for the holy
spirit will teach you what you should say at that time.

Luke: THE PARABLE OF THE RICH FOOL

MAN: TEACHER tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.

JESUS:man who appointed an arbitrator between you? Watch out be on your

guard against all kinds of greed .a man's life does not consist in the abundance
of his possessions. Let me tell you a parable of the Rich fool.
The ground of a certain rich man produced a good harvest. He thought to
himself. What shall I do I have no place to store my crops.this is what I shall
do.i shall tear down my barns and build bigger onesand there I shall store my
crops and I will say to myself I have plenty of good things laid up for many
years.tske life easy eat drink and make merry.
But God said to him.you fool this very night your life will be demanded from
you.then who will get what you have prepared for yourself? So is he who lays up
pleasures for himself, and is not rich towards God.
Therefore I tell you do not worry about your life what you will eat or what you
will wear.life is more than food.and the body more than clothes.consider the
ravens. They do not sow or reap they have no storeroom yet God feeds them.and
how much more valuable you are than birds.
And which of you, by being anxious, would add a cubit to his span of life.
If then you are not able to do a simple thing such as that, why are you anxious
about the rest.
Consider the lilies, how they grow, they never toil nor spin, and yet I tell you,
even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of this. But if Good clothes
the grass which in the field today, and tomorrow thrown into the fire, how much
more will he cloth you, oh men of little faith!
And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be anxious of
mind. For all the nations of th world seek this things, and your father knows that
you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and all this shall be yours. Fear not,
little flock, for it is your father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Sell your possessions and give alms, provide yourselves with pulses that don't
grow old, with a treasure in heaven that does not fail, where no thief approaches
and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there also is your heart.

Be dressed ready the service and keep your lamps burning. Like men waiting for
their master to return from a weddingbanquet so that when he knocks the door
they can immediately open for him.
Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes, truly I
say to you, he will them and have them sit at the tabl and he will come and serve
them.
If he comes in the second watch, or the third and find them, blessed are those
servants.
If the owner of the house knew at what time the thief was coming he would not
let his house be broken into.you also must be ready because the son of man will

come at an hour you do not expect him…

Peter: lord, are you telling this parable for us or for all.
Jesus: who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom the master will set over
his household, to give them their potion of food at the proper time?
Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes will find him so doing.
Truly I tell you, he will set him over all his possession
But if the servant says to himself, 'my master has delayed in coming,' and he
beats the servants, eats, drinks and gets drunk. The master of that servant will
come on a day he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know and he'll
punish him, and put him with the unfaithful. And that servant who knew him
masters will, but did not make ready or act according to his will, shall receive a
severe beating.
But he who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light
beating. Everyone to whom much is given, of him will be much required. And of
him to whom men commit much they will demand the more.
I came to cast fire upon the earth and found that it was already kindled. I have a
baptism to be baptised with, and how I am constrained until it is accomplished.
Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather
division. For henceforth in one house there will be five divided, three against two
and two against three.
They will be divided father against son and son against father, mother against
daughter and daughter against mother. Mother in law against her daughter in
law and daughter in law against mother in law.

When you see a cloud rising from the west you say at once 'a shower is coming'
and it happens. And when you see the south wind blowing you say 'there will be
scorching heat' and it happens.
You hypocrites, you know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky but
why don't you know how to interpret the present time?
And why do you not judge for yourselves what is right? As you go with your
accuser to the magistrate, make an effort to settle with him on the way, lest he
drag you to the judge, and the judge hands you over to the officer, and the officer
puts you in prison. I tell you, you'll never get out until you pay your very last
copper.

CHAPTER 13
Luke: parable of the fig tree.

Jesus: a man had a fight tree planted in his vineyard and came looking for fruit
but found none. And he said to the vinedresser 'these three years I have come
seeking fruit on this fig tree and I found none. Cut it down, why should it use up
the ground?'
But he answered, 'let it be, these year also, I'll dig about it and put on manure.
And If it bears fruits, well and good, but if not you can cut it down.

Luke: one day Jesus was teaching in the synagogue on the Sabbath. And there
was a woman who had had a spirit of infirmity for 18years.
(WE ENTER THE SYNAGOGUE, THERE IS A WOMAN WITH A BENT BACK)

Jesus: woman, you are freed from your infirmity.

Pharisee: there are 6days where work ought to be done, come on those days and
be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.
Jesus: you hypocrites, does not each one of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his
ass from the manger, and lead it away to water it. And ought not this woman, a
daughter of Abraham whom satan bound for 18years, be freed from this bond on
a Sabbath.

Luke:PARABLE OF THE MUSTARD SEED AND THE YEAST

JESUS: WHAT is the kingdom of God like?what shall I compare it to.it is like a
mustard SEED soo small that a man planted it in his garden. It grew and
became a tree and the birds of the air perched in its branches.
Again what shall I compare the kingdom of God to..it is like yeast that a woman
took and mixed it into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the
dough.

Man: lord, will those who're saved be few

JESUS:make every effort to enter through the narrow door because many I tell
you will try to enter and will not.once the owner stands up to close the door you
will stand outside knocking and pleading but the owner will tell you I do not
know you or where you come from..
And you will say we ate and drank with you and you taught in our streets but he

will reply I don’t know you.away from me you evildoers.there will be weeping
and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham Isaac and Jacob and all the
prophets in the kingdom of God but you yourselves thrown out.
And men will come from east and west and from north and south, and sit at table
in the kingdom of God. And behold, some are last who'll be first, and some are
first who'll be last.

LUKE: Jesus sorrow for Jerusalem.

Man 36: leave this place at once and go somewhere else Herod wants to kill you.

Jesus:
Go tell that fox I will drive out demons and heal people today and tomorrow and
on the third day I will reach my goal.in any case I must keep going today and
tomorrow and the next day for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to
you,how often I have longed to gather your children together as a hen gathers
her chicks under her wings but you were not willing!
Look your house is left to your desolate.i tell you you will not see me again until
you say blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

CHAPTER 14

Luke: one Sabbath, when jesus went to eat in the house of a prominen
Pharisee,in front of him was a man suffering from dropsy

Jesus:(to the Pharisees) is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?

Pharisees:(silent)

Jesus:(to the man) receive healing..go home.

Jesus: if one of you has a son or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day
will you not immediately pull it out??
When someone invites you to a wedding feast,do not take the place of honour for
a person more distinguished that you may have been invited.if so the host who
invited both of you will come and say to you,Give this man your seat.the
humiliated you will have to take the least seat.take the lowest seat when invited
so that when the host comes he will say to you friend move up to a better
place.then you will be honoured in the presence of your fellow guests.

Luke: Then Jesus told them the parable of the great banquet
When you give a dinner do not invite your friends your brothers or relatives
or your rich neighbours.if you do they may invite you back and you will be
repaid but when you give a banquet invite the poor the crippled the lame the
blind and you will be blessed.although they cannot repay you you will be repaid
at the resurrection of the righteous.

Man 71: Blessed is the man who will eat and feast in the kingdom of God.
certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests.at the time
of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited to come
everything is now ready.but they all alike began to make excuses.the first said I
have just bought a field and I must go and see it.please excuse me..
The second said I have just bought five yoke of oxen and am on my way to try

them out so I can’t come.

Still another one said I have just got married so I can’t come.
The servant came back and reported this to his master.he became angry and
ordered his servant to go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and
bring the poor the crippled the lame the blind.
The Servant went out and brought as instructed.
I tell You not one of those men who were invited will get a taste of the great
banquet.
The cost of discipleship
If anyone of you does not hate his father and mother andwife and children yes
even his own life he cannot be my disciple.and anyone who cannot carry his cross
to follow me cannot be my disciples.
For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down to countbthe
cost, whether he has enough to complete it.
Otherwise when he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish, people who
see this will begin to mock him saying, 'this man began to build but was not able
to finish.'
Or what kind, going to encounter another king at war will not sit down first and
take counsel whether he's able with his ten thousand to meet him who comes
against him with 20thousand. And if not, while the other is still a long way off, he
sends an embassy and asks terms of peace.
So whoever does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.
Anyone of you who cannot give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.salt
is good but if it loses its saltiness how can it be made salty again?it is fit neither
for the soil nor for the manure heap.it is thrown out.he who has ears to hear let
him hear.

CHAPTER 15
Luke: The parable of the lost sheep.
Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering round to hear him
speak.but the Pharisees and teachers of the law muttered how he welcomes
sinners and eats with them.

Jesus: ( 15:3-7) THE PARABLE OF THE LOST SHEEP.

What man of you, having a hundred sheep, and has lost one does not leave the
ninety nine in the wilderness, and goes after the one which is lost, until he finds
it? And when he finds it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he
comes home, he calls out his friends and his neighbors, saying 'rejoice with me
for I have found my sheep which was lost.'

Just so I tell you, there is greater joy in heaven over one repentant dinner than
over 99 righteous souls that need no repentance
Jesus: (15:8-10) THE PARABLE OF THE LOST COIN
Or what woman, having 10 silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a
lamp and sweeps the house and seeks diligently until she finds it. And when she
found it she calls together her friends and relatives, saying to them, 'rejouce with
me for I found the coin which I lost.'
Likewise, I tell you there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who
repents.
Jesus:( 15:11-32)THE PARABLE OF THE LOST SON
THERE WAS a man who had two sons.the younger brother said to his
father..father give me my share of the estate. So he divided his property between
them.not long after that the younger son got together all he had set off for a
distant country and there he squandered his wealth in wild living.after he had
spent everything there was a severe famine in that whole country. So he began to
be in need.so he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country who sent
him to his fields to feed pigs.he longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the
pigs were eating but no one gave him anything to eat.

When he came to his senses he said how many of my father’s hired men have
food to spare and here I am starving to death.i will set out and go to my father
and say to him father I have sinned against heaven and against you.i am no
longer worthy to be called your son make me like one of your hired men.so he got
up and went to his father.
But while he was still along way off his father saw him and was filled with
compassion for him.he ran to his son threw his arms around him and kissed
him.the son said father I have sinned against heaven and against you am no
longer worthy to be called your son.but the father said to his servants.quick
bring the best robe and put it on him.put a ring on his finger and sandals on his
feet.bring the fattened calf and kill it.lets have a feast and celebrate.for this son
of mine was dead and is alive again.was lost and he is found.so they began to
celebrate.
Meanwhile the older brother was in the fields.when he came nearer the house he
heard music and dancing.so he called one of his father's servants and asked him
what was going on.he said your father has killed a fattened calf because your
younger brother is back and safe.the older brother became angry and refused to
go in.so his father went out and pleaded with him but he answered all this years

I’ve worked for you as a slave and never disobeyed you.yer you have never given
me even a young goat to celebrate with my friends but when this son of yours
who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home you kill the
fattened calf for him.
The father said you are always with me and everything I have is yours.but we
have to celebrate and be glad because this brother was dead and is alive again
he was lost and is found.

CHAPTER 16
Luke: PARABLE OF THE SHREWD MANAGER
JESUS:Thre was a rich man whose manager was accused of wasting his
possessions. So he called him in and asked him ,what is this I here about
you..give an account of your management because you cannot be my manager
anylonger.
The manager said to himself_ what shall I do now..my master is taking away my
stewardship.am not strong enough to dig and am ashamed to beg..ok I know
what I will do so that when I lose my job here people will welcome me into their
houses.
So he called in each one of his master's debtors.he asked the first how much do
you owe my master? 100 bashels of oil..good sit down and write 80..he called the

second one asked.. How much do you owe my master….100 bashels of wheat…sit
down and write 80..
The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted
shrewdly.for the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their
own kind than are the people of the light.
I tell you use wordly wealth to gain friends for yourselves so that when it is gone
you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings. He who is faithful with a very little
is faithful with much. And he that is dishonest with little is dishonest with much.
If then you've not been faithful with unrighteousness mammon, who then will
trust you with the true riches? And if you've not been faithful with that which is
another's, who will give you that which is your own?

No one can serve two masters, for either he will love the one and hate the other
or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can not serve God and
mammon.

Pharisees: (scoff)
Jesus: you are those who justify yourself before men but God knows your hearts,
for what is exalted before men is an abomination in the sight of God. The laws
and the prophets were until John, since then the good news of the kingdom of
God is preached, and everyone enters it violently.
But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one dot of the law to
become void. Everyone who divorces a wife and marries another commits
adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits
adultery.

Luke: PARABLE OF THE RICHMAN AND LAZARUS

Jesus: There was a rich man, who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who
feasted sumptuously every day. And at his gate lay a poor man named Laz'arus,
full of sores, who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man's table;
moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. The poor man died and was carried
by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried; and
in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes, and saw Abraham far off and
Laz'arus in his bosom. And he called out, `Father Abraham, have mercy upon
me, and send Laz'arus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue;
for I am in anguish in this flame.'
But Abraham said, `Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good
things, and Laz'arus in like manner evil things; but now he is comforted here,
and you are in anguish. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm
has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be
able, and none may cross from there to us.' And he said, `Then I beg you, father,
to send him to my father's house, for I have five brothers, so that he may warn
them, lest they also come into this place of torment.' But Abraham said, `They
have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.'And he said, `No, father
Abraham; but if some one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' He said
to him, `If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be
convinced if some one should rise from the dead.'

Luke: THE TEMPTATION TO SIN

Jesus: the temptations to son are sure to come, but woe to him by whom they
come. It'd have been better for him if a milestone was tied round his neck and he
were cast in the sea, than that he should cause one of this little ones to sin. Take
heed to yourselves, if your brother sins, rebuke him, if he repents, forgive him.
And if he sins to you seven times in a day, and seven times he turns to you and
says 'i repent' you must forgive them.

Man 76: increase our faith.

Jesus: if you had faith as small as the grains of a mustard seed, you could say to a
sycamore tree, be rooted to up and be planted in the sea and it'd obey.
Will anyone of you having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, say to him when
he comes from the field, 'come at once and sit at table.' will he noy rather say to
him, 'prepare supper for me, and gird tourself and serve me, till i eat and drink
and afterwards you shall eat and drink. Does he thabk the servant because he
did what he commanded? So you also, when you have done what is commanded
of you say, 'we're unworthy servants, we have only done what was our duty.'

LUKE: 3,THE JOURNEY TO JERUSALEM AND THE JERUSALEM

MINISTRY
Jesus began his journey to jerusalem and when he was passing through samaria
and galilee,he entered a village where he was met by 1o lepers who stood at a
distance.

>the 10 lepers
Lepers: jesus, master, have mercy on us.
Jesus: go and show yourselves to the priests. (On their way they realise they're
healed, one returns.)
Leper: (falls on his knees and offers thanksgiving)
Jesus: were not ten cleansed, where are the other nine? Was no one found to
return and give praise to God except this foreigner? Rise and go your way, your
faith has made you well.

Pharisee 16: teacher tell us when the kingdom of God will come

Jesus: the kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation nor
people say here it is or there it is because the kingdom of God is within you . The
time is coming when you will Long to see one of the days of the son of man but
you will not see it .men will tell you.there he is or here he is .do not go running off
after them.for the son of man in his days will be like the lightning which flashes
and lights up the sky from one end to the other.but FIRST he must suffer many
things and be rejected by this generation just as it was in the days of Noah so also
Will it be in the days of the son of man. They ate, they drunk, they married and
were given in marriage until the day when noah entered the ark. And the floods
came and destroyed them all.
Likewise as it was in the days os Lot, they ate they drunk, they sold, they bought,
they planted they built. So when the day lot went out of Sodom fire and sulphur
rained from heaven and destroyed them all. so will it be when the son if man is
revealed.
Oj that day, let him who is on the house top, with his goods in the house not come
down to take them away, and likewise let him who is on the field not turn back.
Remember lot's wife. Whoever seeks to gain his own life will lose it, but whoever
loses his life will preserve it.
I tell you, on that night, there will be two on one bed, one will be taken and the
other one left.
There will be two women grinding together, one will be taken and the other one
left.
Man 78: where lord?
Jesus: where the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.

CHAPTER 18
Luke:Then Jesus told them the parable of the persistent widow and the unjust
judge to show them that they should always pray and never give up.
(18:2-8)

Luke:to some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down
upon everyone else jesus told them the parable of the Pharisee and the tax
collector
(18:10-14)
LUKE:NOW there were people who were bringing infants to him so that he
might touch them and when the disciples saw this they rebuked them but jesus
called them saying let the little children come to me

Jesus: let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such
belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the
kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.
Rich ruler: good teacher what must I do to inherit eternal life

Jesus:why do you call me good.no one is good except God Alone.you know the
commandments? Do not steal,do not commit adultery,do not kill,do not give false
testimony honour your father and mother.

Rich ruler: all this I have done since I was a child.

Jesus:you still lack one thing.go sell everything you have then give it to the poor
then follow me.

Rich ruler: (walked away while sad)

Jesus: how hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God.indeed it is easier
for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the
kingdom of God.

Man 38: who then is to be saved?

Jesus: what is impossible with men is possible with God.

Peter: we have left all we had to follow you

Jesus: I tell you the truth no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents
or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to receive many times as
much in this age ,in the age to come, eternal life.

Jesus: we are going to Jerusalem and everything that is written by the prophets
about the son of man will be fulfilled.he will be given to the gentiles.they will
mock him insult him spit on him flog him and kill him on the third day he will
rise again.

Luke: the disciples did not understand any of this. Jesus continued with his
journey to jerusalem and when he drew near jericho there was a blind man by
the roadside begging.when he heard a multitude passing by,he inquired what
that meant and they told him jesus of nazareth was passing by and he cried to
jesus to have mercy on him.when jesus entered jericho there was a man named
zachaeus, this man was a chief tax collector and he was rich.he sought to see jesus
but he could not because he was small of stature.

>blind begger
(ENTERS A BLIND MAN, THEN JESUS FOLLOWED BY A CROWD, THE
BEGGAR PULLS ONE FROM THE CROWD)
BEGGAR: why is there a multitude?
Man 80: Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.
Beggar: jesus, son of David, have mercy on me. (The crowd rebuke him to be silent)
Son of David, have mercy on me.
Jesus: what do you want me to do for you?
Beggar: lord, let me receive my sight.
Jesus: receive your sight, your faith has made you well.

>ZACHEUS
(ENTERS ZACHEUS IN HASTE AND CLIMBS A HIGH PLACE, THEN
ENTERS JESUS AND CROWD)
Jesus: zacheus, make haste and come down, for I must stay at your house today.
(Exits Jesus &zacheus)
Man 81: he has gone in to be a guest of a man who is a sinner.

IN THE HOUSE OF ZACHEUS.

Zacheus: behold, lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor, and if I have stolen
from any of you I will return the amount in 4 folds.
Jesus: today, salvation has come to this house since he also is a son of Abraham.
For the son of man came to seek and save the lost.

LUKE: PARABLE OF THE TEN POUNDS

JESUS: A noble man went into a far country to receive a kingdom and then
return. Calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten pounds and told them, trade
with this until I return. But his citizens hated him and sent an embassy after him
saying, 'we don't want this man to reign over us.' when he returned, having
recwived the kingdom, he commanded this servants to whom he had given the
money, to be called to him, that he may know what they had gained in trading.
The first one came before him saying, 'lord, your pound has made ten pounds
more.' And he said to him, 'well done good servant, because you have been
faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.' and the second
came saying, 'master, your pound has made 5 more pounds.'
And he said to him, 'qnd you are to be over 5 cities.'
Then another one came saying, 'lord, here is your pound, which I have kept away
laid in a napkin, for I was afraid of you, you are a severe man you take up what
you did not lay down and reap where you did not sow.' And he said to him, 'i will
condemn you out of your own mouth, you wicked servant! You knew that I was a
severe man, taking up where I did not lay down and reaping where I did not sow.
Why then didn't you put my money in the bank, and at my coming I would have
collected it will interest.' And he said to those who stood by, ' take the pound
from him and give it to him who has ten pounds.' and they said to him, 'lord, he
has ten pounds.'
I tell you, that to everyone who has, more will be given but from him who has
not, even what he has will be taken away from them. But as for this enemies of
mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay thrm
before me.

LUKE: After Jesus had said this he went on ahead going up to jerusalem.as he
approached bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the mount of olives he sent
two of his disciples.

Jesus: go to the village ahead of you and as you enter it you will find a colt tied
there which no one has ever ridden.untie it and bring it here.if anyone asks you
why are you untying it tell him the Lord needs it..

LUKE;THE JERUSALEM MINISTRY,THE TRIUMPHAL ENTRY

Crowd: blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord peace in heaven and
glory in the highest
Pharisee: teacher rebuke your disciples to keep quiet.
Jesus: I tell you if they keep quiet this stones will cry out.

Luke: as he approached Jerusalem he said

Jesus: if you, even you had only known on this day what would bring you peace
but now it is hidden from your eyes.the days will come upon you when your
enemies will build an embarkment against you and encircle you and hem you in
on every side.they will dash you to the ground.you and the children within your
walls . they will not leave one stone on another because you did not recognize the
times of God's coming to you.

Luke: then he entered the temple area and began driving out those who were
selling.

Jesus: it is written my house will be a house of prayer but you have made it a
dentist of robbers.
CHAPTER 20
Pharisee 1: teacher tell us by what authority are you doing this things
Pharisee 2:who gave you the authority?
Jesus:I will also ask you a question.tell me John's baptism--was it from heaven or
from men?

Pharisees:(wispering among themselves)

Pharisee 1:if we say from heaven he will ask why didn't we believe him.
Pharisee 2:if we say from from men all people will stone us because they are
persuaded that John was a prophet.

Pharisees: (to jesus) we don't know where it was from

Jesus: neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things
Then what is the meaning of that which is written?
The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone.everyone who falls
on that stone will be broken to pieces but he on whom it falls be crushed.

J
JESUS : TELLS THE PARABLE OF THE WICKED TENANTS
Jesus:......what then will the master do to this tenants, he will come and destroy
them, and give the vineyard to others.
Man 82: God forbid!
What then is that which is written, the very stone that the builder rejected has
become the corner stone. Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken into
pieces, but if it falls on anyone it will crush him.

Luke: the teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him
immediately because they knew he had spoken this parable against them.but
they were afraid of the people.keeping a close watch on him they sent spies who
pretended to be honest so they hoped to catch Jesus in something he said so that
they might hand him over to the authority of the governor.

Spy 1: teacher we know that you speak and teach what is right and that you do
not show partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth, now
tell us is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?

Jesus: show me a denarii . whose portrait and inscription are on it?

Spies: Caesar's.
Jesus: give to Caesar what is ceaser's and to God what belongs to God
.

Luke: some of the Pharisees and sudducess who say there is no resurrection
came to Jesus with a question.

Pharisee 1: teacher Moses wrote to us that if a man's brother dies and leaves a
wife but no children the man must Marry the widow.now there were seven
brothers.the first one married a woman and died childless.the second and the
third and in the same way the seven died.finally the woman died too.now then at
the resurrection whose wife will she be since the seven married her

Jesus: the people of this age marry and are given to marriage but those who are
considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the
dead will neither marry not be given in marriage and they can nolonger die.for
they are like the angels. They are God's children since they are children of the
resurrection.but in the account of the bush even Moses showed that the dead rise
for he calls the Lord "the God of Abraham" and the God of Isaac and the God of
Jacob.he is not the God of the dead but of the living for to him all are Alive.

Pharisees: well said teacher

Jesus: how is it that they say the Christ is the son of David,David himself
declares in the book of psalms.the lord said to my lord sit at my right hand until
I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.David calls him lord how then can
he be his son.
Be Ware of the teachers of the law they like to walk around in flowing robes and
love to be greeted in the market places and have the most important seats in the
synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. Who devour widows houses and
for a pretence make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.

Luke: the widows offering.as he looked up Jesus saw the rich putting their gifts
into the temple treasury.he saw a poor widow.

(Action)

Jesus: I tell you the truth this poor widow has put in more than all the others.all
these people gave their gifts out of their wealth but she out of her poverty put in
all she had to live on.

Luke: Signs of the end of Age.some of the disciples were remarking about how
the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with gifts dedicated to God

Jesus: as for what you see here the time will come when not one stone will be left
on another Every one of them will be thrown down.

Disciples: teacher when will this things happen? And what will be the sign that
they are about to take place?
Jesus: watch out that you are not deceived.for many will come in my name
claiming that I am he.and the time is near..do not follow them .

When you hear of wars and revolution do not be frightened.this things must
happen first but the end will not come right away.
Nation will raise against nations . kingdom against kingdom.there will be a great
earthquakes famines and pestilence in various places and fearful events and
signs from heaven.
But before all this things they will lay hands on you and persecute you.
They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons and you will be brought before
Kings and governor's and all on account of my name.but make up your mind not
to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.for I will give you words
and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.you
will be betrayed Even by parents brothers relatives and friends and put some of
you to death.all men will hate because of me.but not a hair on your head will
perish.by standing firm you will gain life.
When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by enemies Know that it's desolation
is near.then let those who are in judea flee to the mountains let those in the city
gates get out and let those in the country not enter the city.for this is the time for
punishment for fulfilment of all that has been written.
How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mother's .
For great distress shall fall upon the earth and wrath upon this people. They will
fall by the edge of a sword and be driven captives of all nations. And Jerusalem
will be trodden down the gentiles until the time of the gentiles be fulfilled. And
there shall be signs in the sun in the moon and in the stars and upon the earth
distress of Nations in perplexity at the roaring of the seas and waves, men
fainting with fear for seeing the things that have clme to pass on earth. For the
power of heaven shall be shaken.

And then they will see the son of man coming down in a cloud with power and
great glory. Now, when this things begin to pass, look up and raise your heads for
your redemption draws near.
Look at the fig tree and all the other trees, as soon as they come out in leaf you
see for yourselves and know that summer is already near. So also, when you see
this things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near. Truly, I say
to you this generation shall not pass away until all has taken place. Heaven and
earth will pass away but my words will not pass away.
But take heed of yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down by dissipation and
drunkenness and the cares of this life, and that day comes upon you suddenly
like a snare. For it will come upon all who dwell upon the face of the whole earth.
But watch at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all this
things that will take place, and to stand before the son of man.
CHAPTER 22
Luke: Judas agrees to betray Jesus.now the feast of the unleavened bread called
the Passover was approaching and the chief priests and the teachers of the law
were looking for a way to get rid of Jesus but they were afraid of the people..then
Satan entered Judas called Iscariot one of the twelve. Then Judas went to the
high priests and officers to discuss how they might betray Jesus.

JUDAS WITH THE HIGH PRIESTS

Luke: The last supper.then came the day of unleavened bread on which the
Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.

JESUS: Peter and John go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.
John and Peter: where do you want us to prepare it?
Jesus: as you enter the city a man carrying a jar of water will meet you .follow
him to the house that he enters and say to the owner of the house, the teacher asks
where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples .he will
show you a large room all furnished .make preparations there.

Luke: they left and found things just as Jesus had told them.so they prepared the
Passover.

THE PASSOVER
Jesus: I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I
tell you, I shall not eat until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God. (Lifts a cup and
blesses it) Take this and divide it among yourselves, for I tell you, from now on I
shall no longer drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.
(Breaks bread) This is my body which has been given to you, do this in
remembrance of me. (Retakes the cup) This cup which is poured out for you is the
new covenant in my blood.
But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table. For the son
of man goes as it has been determined but woe unto that man by whom he is
betrayed.

Disciples: (among themselves) and who could this be.

I don't think it's me.could it be you.
Now tell me who is greater hear?
The kings of the gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who rule over
them are called benefactors. But not so with you, rather let he that is greatest be
the youngest and the leader as one who serves. For which is greater, one who sits
at the table or the one who serves? Is it not one who sits at table? But I among
you have been the one to serve. You are those who have continued with me
through my trials, and I assign you as my father has assigned me, the kingdom.
That you may eat and drink with me at my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging
over the 12tribes of Israel.
Simon, Simon, satan demanded to have you, that he may sift you like wheat, but i
have prayed for you, that your faith msy not fail. And when you've turned again,
strengthen your brethren.
Simon Peter: lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.
Jesus: I tell you Peter, the cock will not crow tonight, until you three times deny
that you know me.
When I sent you out with no purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything? But
now, let he that has a purse take it and likewise a bag. And let he that doesn't
have a sword sell his garment and buy one. For I tell you, this scripture must be
fulfilled in me, "and he was reckoned with transgressors" for what is written
about me has it's fulfilment.
Peter: look, lord, here are two swords.
Jesus: it is enough

LUKE: Jesus prays at the mount of olives.

Jesus: my disciples pray that you may not fall in to temptation

Jesus: father if you are willing .take this cup from me yet not my will but yours
be done.

Jesus: why are you sleeping get up and pray so that you will not fall into
temptation..

Enter Crowd lead by JUDAS

Jesus: Judas are you betraying the son of man with a kiss?
Peter: should we strike with our swords lord? (Cutting off the soldiers ear/)
Jesus: no more of this ( healing)

Jesus: am I leading a rebellion that you have come with swords and clubs? Every
day I was with you in the temple courts and you did not lay a hand on me but
this is your hour when darkness reigns.
( They seized him away)

Luke: Peter denies Jesus.

After seizing Jesus they took him to the house of the high priest.peter
followed at a distance.they kindled fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat
down together.peter sat among them.this is where peter denies jesus 3 times

Servant 1: this man was with him

Peter: woman I don't know him
Servant 2: you are also one of them?
Peter: man check your tongue,am not
Servant 3: certainly this fellow was with him for he is a Galilean.
Peter: man I don't know what you are talking about.

Jesus:( turning looking straight into Peter's eyes)

( Cock crows)
Peter: ( went out to weap bitterly)

THE GUARDS MOCK JESUS

guard 1: master prophesy

Guard2: who hit you?

JESUS BEFORE council

Council's: if you are the Christ tell us

Jesus: if I tell you you will not believe me and if I ask you you would not
answer.but for now on the son of man will be seated at the right hand of the
mighty God.
Council 2: are you the son of God?
Jesus: you say that I am
Council 1: why do we need any more testimony.we have heard it from his lips

JESUS BEFORE PILATE

Man 1: we have found this man perverting our nation.he opposes payment of
taxes to ceasar.and claims to be Christ the King.
Pilate: are you the king of the Jews?
Jesus: you have said so

Pilate: I find no basis for charge against this man

Man 2: no nooo this man stirs up the people all over judea by his teaching.he
started from Galilee and now he is here.
Pilate: is he a Galilean? Then take him to Herod his King.

JESUS BEFORE HEROD

Herod: you are the Christ? Wow. I have longed to meet you king of the Jews as I
here them call you..now prophesy to me
(Mocking him)
Perform a miracle here..I have for a long time thought to myself who is this
I here people talk about while I killed John the baptist.who are you? Who are
you.

Pilate: you brought this man to me as one who was perverting the people,
and after examining him before you, behold, I did not find this man guilty of any
of your charges against him. Neither did Herod, for he sent him back to us.
Behold, nothing deserving death has been done by him. I will therefore punish
him and then release him.
Crowd: no kill him kill him kill him kill him

We want Barnabasx3
Herod: why? What crime has he committed?
Crowd: crusify him,, crusify him
Pilate: why? What evil has he done? I have found in him no crime deserving
death. I will therefore punish him and release him.
Crowd: we want Barnabas, kill him, crusify him
Pilate: I set Barnabas free and you free to do what you want with him.

CROWD AND SOLDIERS SEIZED JESUS AWAY

Simon of Cyrene: (carrying the cross)

.
MARY WEEPING OVER JESUS

Jesus: daughters of Jerusalem do not Weep for me.weep for your children and
your yourselves. For behold the days are coming when they will say, blessed are
the baren and the womb that never bore, and the breasts that never gave suck.
Then they will begin to cry to the mountains, 'fall on us.' and to the hills, 'cover
us' for if they do this when the wood is green what will happen when the wood is
dry?

2 CRIMINALS FIRST ARRESTED AND CRUCIFIED

THEN JESUS CRUCIFIED
Jesus: father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.
Soldier: he saved others, let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, the
chosen one.

Thief 1:he saved others.save yourself and us to

Thief 2: don't you fear God.and since we are serving the same condemnation .we
are punished for our sons.but this man has done nothing.Jesus remember me
when you come into your kingdom.

Jesus: I tell you the truth today you will be with me in paradise.

LUKE: IT was about the 6th hour and there was darkness over the land until the
9th hour ,while the sun,s light failed ,the curtains of the temple were torn into
two.then jesus cried out in a loud voice
Jesus: Father into your hands I commit my spirit.
He then brethed his last.there was a centurion who had witnessed all these things
which had taken place,he praised god and said, certainly this man was
innocent.all the people returned backl to their homes beating their chests except
the acquintances of jesus and the women who had followed him from galilee.they
stood at a distance and saw these things.

Luke:now there was a man named Joseph a member of the council a good man
who came from the town of Arimathea and was waiting for the Kingdom of
God.Going to Pilate he asked for the body of Jesus wrapped in a linen and placed
it in a tomb.
TOOK DOWN THE BODY OF CHRIST

LUKE:joseph of arimatheatook the body of christ ,wrapped it in fine linen

shroud and laid it in a rock -hewn tomb where no one had ever been laid, the
women followed at a distance and saw the tomb where his body was laid then
returned back to their homes because it was the day of preparation and the
sabbath was beginning .they went to prepare spices and ointments.on the
sabbath day they rested according to the commandments.

CHAPTER 24
LUKE: on the first day of the week, early at dawn they went to the tomb, taking
the spices which they had prepared, they found the stone rolled away from the
tomb.when they went in,they found nobody, they found no body ,while they were
perplexed about this ,behold two men appeared to them dressed in dazzkling
white apparel and they asked them,
2 angels: why do you seek the living among the dead?remember how he told you
while he was still in galilee, that the son of man must be delivered into the hands
of sinful men,be crucified and on the third day rise.
the names of the women were mary magdalene, joanna and mary mother of
james.they told the 11 apostles and other disciples this things but they did not
believe

That very day two of them were going to emmaus a village about 7 miles from
jerusalem.they were talking with each other about all thse things that had
happened.while they were taling and discussing together, jesus appeared to them
but their eyes were kept from rec---ognizing him.

Walk to emmaus
Jesus: which is this conversation you're holding with each other as you walk?
Cleophas: are you the only visitor in Jerusalem who doesn't know the things that
have happened there in these days?
Jesus: what things?
Cleopas frd: concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet, mighty in deed
and word before God and all the people, and how our chief priests and rulers
delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crusified him.
Cleopas: But we had hoped that he was the one to redeem Israel. Yes, and besides
all this, it is now the third day since all this happened.
Cleopas frd: Moreover, some women of our company amazed us. They were at
the tomb early in the morning, and did not find his body, and they came back
saying that they had even seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.
Cleopas: Some of those who were with us went to the tomb, and found it just as
the women had said, but him they did not see.
Jesus: o foolish men and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have
spoken. Was it not necessary that Christ should suffer these things and enter into
his glory?
Cleopas: stay with us, for it is towards evening and the day is now far spent.
Breaking of bread
After breaking the bread
Cleopas: didnt our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, when
he opened to us the scriptures.
Jesus appears to the disciples
Jesus: why are you troubled and why are questions rising in your hearts? See my
hands and my feet that it is I myself, handle me and see. For a spirit has not flesh
and bones that you see I have. Have you anything here to eat?
These are my words which I spoke to you, while I was still with you, that
everything written about me in the laws of moses, by the prophets and the
psalmist must be fulfilled. This it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on
the third day rise from the dead. And that repentance and forgiveness of sin
should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem. You are
witnesses of all this things. And behold I send the promise of my father upon you,
but stay in the city, until you are clothed with power from on high.
Ascension

LUKEHe led them as far as bethany, lifted up his hands, blessed them and he was
carried up into heaven.the disciples returned to jerusalem with great joy and
were in the temple continually blessing god.

And I lUKE ,conclude m,y letter to the most excellent theophilus.that has been
the story of the greatest man to ever step foot on earth.the man who is believed to
be the lord and savior, jesus christ.the man who was called teacher yet he had no
school.the man who was called healer yet he had no hospital.the man who was
called master yet he never practiced kungfu.the man who had so many friends
even before facebook.a man who had so many followers than instagram and
tiktok combined.
