3. Understanding the main idea
Newsreader: Amy and Ano are twins, but they did not know each other for a long time. They were
born in Georgia. When they were born, someone took them from their mother and
sold them to different families.
Newsreader: When she was 19, Ano saw a video of Amy on TikTok. She thought they looked the
same. She tried to find her on WhatsApp, and Amy’s friend saw her message.
Newsreader: They started to speak to each other. They met for the first time at a train station. When
Ano saw her sister, she said, “I’ve been looking for you for so long”. Amy replied, “Me
too.” They took a test and they were really twins.
Newsreader: They also found their real mother. She lives in Germany. She said people in the hospital
lied to her to take them from her. This happened to many children in Georgia from
1950 to 2005. It was a big problem in the country. Many people are trying to find their
relatives.
