IV INSTITUTIONAL OUTCOMES:

Graduates of DCLC are globally comparative, competitive, and competent in their field of profession,
with a high level of humanistic values, critical thinking, conceptual and critical skills in accordance with the
standards of academic program and industry requirements relevant to nation-building.

V PROGRAM OUTCOMES:

Upon completing the Business Administration program, graduates are able to:

1. Critically examine, analyze, apply, integrate, recommend logical actions based on a variety on
business concepts, models and principles in order to address hypothetical or real-world business
issues.

2. Communicate effectively in written English, using generally accepted and/or innovative business
formats to present factual data and analyses, propose strategies, advocate policies, promote
products and services, and instructs and evaluate personnel.

3. Apply basic computational, statistical, and quantitative research skills in collecting, analyzing, and
interpreting numerical information to make and justify evidence-based business decisions.

4. Use computer hardware, software, the internet, cloud computing and other technological tools to
expedite and enhance communication and quantitative business research skills in making
business decisions.

5. Work effectively in both leadership and support roles as part of diverse team to achieve a variety
of business-related task, recognizing and maximizing the advantages of different skills,
competencies, professional training, experience and temperament of all team members.

6. Consistently act in professional, respectful, honest, fair, and responsible manner and to apply
technical principles and logical reasoning to make and justify business decisions.

1. Apply management theories, methods to various types of organizations .

VII COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Total Quality Management (TQM) refers to management methods used to enhance quality and
productivity in organizations. The course deals with the description of the culture, attitude and
organization of a company that aims to provide continuously, its customers with products and services
that satisfy their needs. The said culture requires quality in all aspects of the company’s operations,
with things being done right the first time, with defects and waste eradicated from operations.

VIII COURSE OUTLINE


1. Nature, scope and importance of Production and Operations Management in business
2. Productivity Competitiveness and strategy
3. Forecasting, Production system design, Process selection and capacity planning
4. Facilities layout, Design of work systems
5. Quality
6. Scheduling and just-in-time manufacturing systems

IX COURSE REQUIREMENT

1. Attendance not less than 80 of the required class hours;


2. Class participation in discussion;
3. Oral report.

XI EVALUATION

1. Skills are tested in their performance whether students perform tasks described in the objectives;

A. Non-laboratory courses:

a) Class Standing - This includes recitation, participation in daily activities, 30%


and/or projects or term papers/ reports and behavior.
b) Quizzes 30%
c) Major Examination - This includes the Preliminary, Midterm, and Final 40%
Examination 100%
