Basic Description
The FANUC Robotics P-15
Hood/Deck Opener is a three-
axis, vertically articulated robot
designed specifically for opening
vehicle hood and deck lids to
facilitate robotic interior painting.
Engineered for use with FANUC
Robotics’ advanced P-200 robotic
painting system, the P-15 mounts
directly on the P-200 robot’s rail
yet maintains independent motion
through its own rail drive motor.
Two additional servo motors drive
the inner and outer arm of the
P-15, providing in/out and
up/down motion. To simplify
end-of-arm tooling requirements,
an internal linkage keeps the P-15
face plate and tool in a constant
position relative to the floor.
The P-15 Door Opener is
operated by the P-200 robot’s
controller using PaintTool
