this manual before you begin the installation of this product. not installed immediately, temporarily plug the floor flange
hole with a towel (or cover) to block sewer gases from
escaping.

CAUTION: Handle with care. Vitreous chinaware is glass-


like with sharp edges if broken. Do not drop, handle roughly,
or overtighten the bolts.

Glacier Bay products are manufactured with superior quality standards and workmanship and are backed by our limited lifetime warranty.

Glacier Bay products are warranted to the original consumer purchaser to be free of defects in materials or workmanship. We will replace
FREE OF CHARGE any product or parts that proves defective. Simply, return the product / part to any of The Home Depot retail locations
or call 1-855-HD-GLACIER (1-855-434-5224) to receive the replacement item. Proof of purchase (original sales receipt) from the original
consumer purchaser must be made available for all Glacier Bay warranty claims.

This warranty excludes incidental/inconsequential damages and failures due to misuse, abuse or normal wear and tear. This warranty
excludes all industrial, commercial & business usage, whose purchasers are hereby, extended a five year limited warranty from the date of
purchase, with all other terms of this warranty applying except the duration of warranty.

Some states and provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may
not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state and province

Pre-Installation
PLANNING INSTALLATION
Before beginning installation of this product, ensure all parts are present. Compare all parts with the Hardware Included and Package
Contents sections of this manual. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble, install, or operate the product. Contact
customer service for replacement parts at 1-855-HD-GLACIER or visit www.HomeDepot.ca.

REMOVING THE OLD TOILET


□□ Turn off the water supply to the toilet and flush the tank completely. Towel or sponge any remaining water from the tank and bowl.
□□ Disconnect and remove the old water supply lines.
□□ Remove the tank from the bowl by removing the old tank-to-bowl hardware.
□□ Remove the bowl from the floor by removing the bolt caps and floor bolt nuts.
□□ Remove the floor bolts from the toilet flange and clean old wax, putty, and sealant from the base area. (Temporarily plug the floor
flange with a towel or cover to block sewer gases from escaping.)
NOTE: Ensure that the mounting surface
is clean and level before the new toilet is
installed.

Installation

1 Installing the floor bolts


□□ Insert new floor bolts (AA) into the toilet flange (1) (not

3 Positioning the toilet bowl on the flange


CAUTION: Do not rock the bowl back-and-forth, as this
may break the seal.

□□ Unplug the waste opening in the toilet flange (1).


□□ Gently place the toilet bowl (B) (right side up) in position with
the floor bolts (AA) protruding up through the holes in the base
of the toilet bowl (B). Level the toilet bowl (B) as it is lowered
onto the toilet flange (1).
□□ Once the toilet bowl (B) is in position, press down with a slight B
twisting motion on the top center of the bowl (B) and eventually
apply full body weight to evenly compress the wax ring (CC).
This creates a water-tight seal.
□□ Ensure the toilet bowl (B) is as level as possible. It may be
necessary to use small wedges (shims) under the edge of the
bowl due to slight variations in vitreous chinaware or uneven 1
floors. The toilet bowl (B) should be firmly seated on the floor, so AA
it does not wobble or rock.

4 Securing the bowl to the floor


CAUTION: Do not overtighten the nuts (FF) because
vitreous china can easily crack or chip. B

□□ Place the plastic disc (DD) with the “THIS SIDE UP” label
facing upwards, metal washers (EE), and nuts (FF) on the
floor bolts (AA). Alternately tighten the nuts (FF) until the
toilet bowl (B) is firmly seated on the floor. FF
□□ Pour water into the toilet bowl (B) to prevent the escape of
sewer gases. EE

□□ Using a hacksaw, cut off the excess length from the floor DD
bolts (AA) so the bolt caps (GG) will fit. Leave no more than AA GG
¼ in. length above the nuts (FF). Place the bolt caps (GG)
over the floor bolts (AA) and press down for a secure fit. AA

5 Installing the tank A

CAUTION: Do not overtighten the nuts. Severe damage

□□ Place a brass washer (HH) followed by a rubber washer (II)
onto each bolt (JJ). Insert the bolts (JJ) with washers (HH
and II) through the holes inside the tank (A). JJ
□□ Place a brass washer (HH) followed by a hex nut (KK) onto
each bolt (JJ) protruding from the bottom of the tank (A). LL
Tighten the hex nuts (KK) to create a proper and secure
seal.

□□ Attach the rubber sealing gasket (LL) to the center drain
hole under the tank (A).
□□ Gently place the tank (A) on the toilet bowl (B) with the B
bolts (JJ) protruding out through the holes in the bowl (B).
□□ Place an oval metal washer (MM) followed by a wing nut
(NN) onto each of the protruding bolts (JJ).

□□ Tighten the wing nuts (NN) enough so that the tank (A) sits
flat on the toilet bowl (B).

□□ Make sure the tank (A) is parallel to the wall and straight
on the toilet bowl (B).

8 Installing the toilet seat


□□ Place the toilet seat bolt (OO) through the hole (1) on the OO

(QQ) onto the toilet seat bolt (OO) from the underside of the
toilet bowl (B). 1

□□ Position the toilet seat (C) in the desired position, and
tighten the toilet seat bolt (OO) from above with a Flathead
screwdriver.
□□ Cover the tightened bolt with the decorative cap (2).
□□ Repeat this procedure to secure the other side of the toilet
seat (C).

Care and Cleaning
WARNING: DO NOT USE IN-TANK CLEANERS. Products
containing chlorine (calcium hypochlorite) can seriously
damage tank fittings potentially causing leaks, excessive
water use, and property damage. The manufacturer shall
not be responsible or liable for any tank fitting damage
caused by the use of cleaners containing chlorine (calcium
hypochlorite).

NOTE: Improper care may cause the warranty to become


invalid.

□□ When cleaning your toilet and toilet seat, wash it with mild soapy water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.
□□ Avoid detergents, disinfectants, or cleaning products in aerosol cans. NEVER use abrasive scouring powders on your toilet or toilet
seat.
□□ Some bathroom chemicals and cosmetics may cause damage to the toilet seat’s finish, so test your cleaning solution on an
inconspicuous area before applying to the entire surface.

Troubleshooting
Problem Solution
The toilet is flushing poorly, and the water level is below the water □□ The shut-off valve may not be completely open. Verify that the

□□ Check to see if the flapper chain is too long or the flapper is not
lifting properly.
□□ The floater cup of the fill valve may be rubbing against the tank

closed. Check to see if there is any obstruction in the flush seal.
□□ Verify that the flapper chain is not twisted.
□□ Try loosening the flapper chain.
□□ Make sure that the elastic band is removed from the flapper.
