NOTE:

5. For Corporate Membership, you are required to submit a bound copy of technical write -up on your post-graduation
practical experience containing details of a choice project of 1000-5000 words, minimum in length.
6. A professional interview will be conducted on a date to be decided by the Council
7. If nominated, your membership will form part of your requirement for COREN registration.
MEMBERSHIP GRADES, THEIR QUALIFICATIONS AND AMOUNT FOR REGISTRATION
1. CORPORATE MEMBERS
To be eligible for election or transfer to this class of membership, a candidate must fulfill the following
Conditions:
(a) Must possess one or more of the following academic qualifications, that is to say:
B. Sc. Engineering
HND Engineering
HNC Engineering or
Any other qualification which in the opinion of the Council is equivalent to any of the qualification stated above
(b) Must have had Three years’ experience in practical Engineering work, at least Two years of which must have been
spent in appropriate training supervised by a qualified and experienced
Technologist.
(c) Be ready, if the Council so requires, to submit written papers and attend an interview to enable the Council further,
to determine the suitability of the candidate for this class of membership. Membership form and processing fee,
certificate and registration = N60,000.00
2. GRADUATES
Graduate Membership is open to Engineering graduates of Universities, Colleges of Technology and Polytechnics who
are newly graduated and without adequate industrial experience and provided the Institution attended is approved by
the Council, in addition. Membership form and processing fee, certificate and registration = N44,000.00
(a) He must not be under 21 years of age at the time of application.
(b) Must produce evidence of discharge or exemption from the National Youth Service Corps Scheme.
3. ASSOCIATES
Associates shall be:
a. Persons elected as such by the council are people not qualified in the opinion of the Council for Corporate
membership of the Institution but by virtue of academic qualifications held and work in field related to Engineering
and wish to be associated with the Association and its activities. They will also fulfill the following: Membership
form and processing fee, certificate and registration = N55,000.00
(i) Be not less than 21 years of age at the time of application for admission and:
(ii) Have had at least 5 years continuous employment in a responsible position in any branch of science in
Government or Industry, which in the opinion of Council is related to Engineering.
(iii) Satisfy the Council that by their qualifications and previous experience in the position they occupy at
the time of election, their admittance as Associates will promote the declared objects of the institution
and its further development
b. Graduates of Polytechnic, Colleges of Technology and similar Institutions at the Ordinary National
Diploma level or equivalents as may be determined by the Council. in addition:
(i) Candidate must not be less than 18 years of age at the time of application.
(ii) Must show evidence of continuous employment for at least 2 years after qualification.
NOTE ON ADMISSION OF MEMBERS
(a) Every application for election, re-election or transfer to any of the categories of membership shall be
made by filling and signing the official application form as may be described by the Council.
(b) Every completed application form shall be accompanied by the appropriate fee as may be prescribed
by the Council and also the evidence of the qualification for the category of membership being applied
for.
(c) The Council shall at its own discretion determine the eligibility of each applicant for the category of
membership being applied for and the decision of the Council in this regard shall be final. To reach its
decision the council may not invite the applicant for personal interview.
(d) It shall be the absolute right of the Council to refuse to give any reason for rejecting an applicant.
(e) Every applicant shall be informed in writing whatever be the Council’s decision on his application.
VI Declaration by Candidate
1. I declare that all the above statements are complete and correct to the best of my knowledge and
belief. I agree to file additional information if the responses to any question changes. I understand
that a false statement or misrepresentation may disqualify me for registration.
2. I grant permission to NATE to obtain such additional information, as they may deem appropriate from
such additional sources as they may deem necessary to the progression of my application.
3. I will conform to the Professional Act, the Regulations including the code of Ethics, and the conducts
and the constitution and principle of NATE if granted membership.

NATE FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION
NIGERIANS
Every Nigerian Applicant is to make a full payment of Sixty Thousand Naira Only
(N60,000.00). Breakdown of the full payment is as follows, Thirty Thousand Naira
(N30,000.00) for membership Application and Processing fee, Twenty-Five Thousand Naira
(N25,000.00) Certificate fee and Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00) Welfare Levy.
COREN FEES
For those who wish to apply for COREN registration through the Association, they have to
pay Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00) as COREN facilitating fee and the sum of Nine
Thousand, (N9,000.00) for COREN application.
EXPATRIATES
Every Expatriate Applicant is to make a full payment of Ninety Thousand Naira Only
(N90,000.00). Breakdown of the full payment is as follows, Sixty Thousand Naira
(N60,000.00) for membership Application and Processing fee, Twenty-Five Thousand Naira
(N25,000.00) Certificate fee and Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00) Welfare Levy.
