I – OBJECTIVES
a. Content Standard The learners demonstrate an understanding of concepts and principles in
installing configuring computer systems
b. Performance The learners shall be able to install and configure computer systems based on
Standard established procedures and system requirements TLE_IACSS9- 12ICCS-Ia-e-
28
c. Learning - Students will understand the role of the CPU in a computer system.
Competencies - Students will learn about the components of the CPU.
- Students will be able to explain the basic functions of the CPU.
II – CONTENT Information and Communication Technology covering the topics of: Understanding the
Central Processing Unit (CPU)
III – LEARNING - Whiteboard and markers
RESOURCES - Projector and screen (optional)
- Computer components (power supply, motherboard, CPU, RAM, etc.) for
demonstration
- Handouts or digital resources explaining power supply components, troubleshooting,
and solutions
- Safety precautions: anti-static wristbands, appropriate grounding mats

IV – PROCEDURE
A. Reviewing
B. Establishing a 1. Begin by asking students what they know about the CPU.
purpose for the lesson 2. Share the lesson objectives to provide context for the lesson.
C. Presenting
examples of the new 3. Define the Central Processing Unit (CPU) as the "brain" of the computer
lesson responsible for executing instructions.
4. Explain the significance of the CPU in computer performance.
5. Use visual aids or diagrams to illustrate the CPU's location on the computer
motherboard.
D. Discussing new - Control Unit
concepts & practicing - Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU)
new skills #1 - Registers
E. Discussing new - Control Unit manages the execution of instructions.
concepts and - ALU performs arithmetic and logical operations.
practicing new skills - Registers store data temporarily during processing.
#2 Discuss the primary functions of the CPU:
- Fetch: Retrieving instructions from memory.
- Decode: Interpreting the instructions.
- Execute: Carrying out the instructions
F. Developing Activity (15 minutes):
mastery that leads to Demonstrate CPU performance by running a basic program or task on a
formative assessment computer.
Show how the CPU processes instructions and performs calculations.
Discuss the concept of clock speed and its impact on CPU performance.
Engage students in a discussion to recap what they've learned about the CPU.
Encourage questions and address any misconceptions.
Provide handouts with CPU diagrams and definitions for students to review later.
G. Finding practical Use real-world analogies to help students understand these functions (e.g.,
applications of cooking a recipe).
concepts & skills in
daily living
VI – REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned
80% in the evaluation
B. No of learners who require
additional activities for
remediation. Who scored below
80%
c. Did the remedial lesson work?
No. of learners who caught up
with the lesson.
D. No. of learners who continue to
require remediation.
E. Which of my teaching
strategies worked well? Why did
these worked?
F. What difficulties did I
encountered which my principal or
supervisor can help solve?
