Caduceus S AR - NC

This document describes a new navigation system called Caduceus S AR Navigation that aims to improve spine surgery. The system uses augmented reality glasses and registration with C-arm or CT images to provide real-time 3D guidance during surgery, allowing surgeons to see internal structures without looking away from the patient. It claims to reduce radiation exposure, surgery time, invasiveness and improve precision and recovery compared to conventional spine surgery techniques.

CADUCEUS S AR NAVIGATION
Revolution on Spine Surgery

SURGLASSES
1

Today’s challenge in spine surgery

Before navigation system

1. Radiation exposure
2. Time consuming : take more than 4 hours to finish
3. Precision : Relies on the surgeon's skill and
experience; precision may vary.
4. Invasiveness : Often involves larger incisions,
leading to more tissue disruption.
5. Slow recovery : Longer recovery periods due to the
invasive nature of the surgery.

WHY SHOULD YOU

CHOOSE US?
C-arm Module
No need preoperative CT or intraoperative CT

Compatibility
The system can be registered with any medical
imaging device like C-arm and O-arm. Any C-arm
can be compatible with Caduceus as long it has
video input/output.

Smart AR Glasses
Just focus on the patient’s affected area without
looking up at the screen all the time
Radiation Reduction
It only take 2-4 images of the lateral and AP view at the
beginning of the operation

WHY SHOULD YOU

CHOOSE US?
Teaching Application
Operation system is easy and can reduce learning
curve of doctor.

AR and MR Technology
System can show 3D images of patient’s data image
and can be put on patient’s body

Preoperative Simulation
Importing the DICOM data of the patient into the
system can perform preoperative simulation, assist
the surgeon in analyzing the surgical plan.

Simple Workflow
All you need is C-arm device, get the basic configuration
for positioning surgical area (AP and Lateral). Set up time
is about 10-15 minutes.

C-arm Module

 Navigation can be used with a single C-arm capturing 2-4 images

for localization.

 No preoperative CT scans or intraoperative CT scans are required.

 Registration time is less than 15 minutes

 Suitable for short-segment spinal surgeries.

 Multiple images can be captured at different angles for True

Anterior-Posterior (AP) views targeting various spinal segments.
9
10

Pre-CT module

• DICOM image can be imported into system and

surgeon can be able to do preoperative planning

• Capture 2-4 C-arm images intraoperatively.

• Automatic registration.

• Registration time is less than 15 minutes.

• Applicable for both short and long-segment spinal

surgeries, particularly for surgeries requiring Axial
views.
11

Hybrid Module
Can use 3D C-arm for scanning the surgical area.

Suitable for challenging spinal surgeries involving both long and short segments,

Registration : less than 15 minutes

12
13
Intra-operative CT (MR Module)

 Can import patient’s CT image into Caduceus S AR and the data can be viewed as 3D data.
The result of 3D data can be superimposed on the patient’s body. Thus, surgeon can see
through the patient’s body.

 Applicable for challenging spinal surgeries involving both long and short segments,
especially those with difficult aspects such as significant spinal curvature or rotation.

 Registration : less than 15 minutes
