DEDICATION:

This book is dedicated to all students who struggle and have challenges in Schools, Colleges
and Universities. It is a dedication to those who had to repeat a Grade in School, those who
had to repeat a course and program at College or University because of failing an
examination. This time you will not fail but pass with Distinctions. The time and season of
failing examinations has come to an end as you read through this text. After you have read
through this book, you will never fail any examination. All you will need to do is to put in

Introduction
Failing an examination is a bad thing. It drains you emotionally, physically financially and
even socially. The worst thing a pupil, student and person would expect is to fail an
examination after paying colossal sums of money to pursue a course or program. The worst
thing would actually be the failing of an examination after investing so much time and
money in school, college and university. People will laugh at you and frown upon you. In fact,
they will consider you to be dull and worthless. If you are not careful, you can be very much
depressed when you fail an examination. It will lead to low self-esteem, feelings and emotions
of worthlessness.

Society today views our intelligence and measures or gauges our intelligence depending on
how well we do and perform in School. It is difficult and challenging to find a place in
University or College if you have bad or low grades. It is even more difficult to find a job if
you have bad grades, low grades or have none at all. Those who sponsored you will feel
embarrassed after spending all that money on you and you fail. You should not easily expect
them to willingly continue providing for your needs like food, shelter, clothing, and money for
entertainment and other necessities.

Sometimes it is not all the dull people who fail the examinations. Brilliant people can also fail
examinations. There may be other factors involved which trigger the failing of examinations
also. This book will unpack, dismantle and expose such factors so that they don’t affect you
again.

Feel lucky that you have this book in your hands because failing an examination will now be
a thing of the past. You will now be passing all the examinations which you write, as long as
you follow the ideas, techniques, strategies and hints that are given in this book. Come along
with me as I teach you how to pass examinations. Come along with me as we embark on this
long flight of passing examination. Fasten your seat belt as we take off. You will now be able
to pass every examination that you write and make your parents, guardians, sponsors and
all your loved ones proud. Smile to yourself because you now have a golden key in your
hands to pass any examination. Literally passing any examination with little and minimum
or no effort. You will not afford to fail an examination from now onwards. Passing of
examinations will now be an automatic thing like breathing which you do both consciously
and even unconsciously.
FOREWORD

“The man who does not read books has no advantage over the one who cannot read
them.” — Mark Twain

Mark Twain said that if you do not read books then you do not have any advantage over the
one who is unable and cannot read them. This means that the following three key words are
important. The words are, READ, READ, READ.

I therefore wish to congratulate you for taking the first step of resolving and deciding to read
this book. To you I say congratulations. Throughout this book, educational quotes like the
one above shall be found at least one in every chapter. This is important because these are
proverbs which have hidden and important meaning if you try to understand what is being
communicated in the saying and adage.

Life operates on principles. These principles are like rules. In fact principles are rules. You
will notice that I have decided to put the Chapters of this book in form of rules. Rules are
principles. When you break the rules or the principles, there are consequences. That is just
the nature of life. Take for example the rule or principle of gravity. “In nature, in the
natural environment, whatever is thrown up normally comes down and falls on the
ground.” All nature respects that rule or principle. Now imagine you tell yourself that if you
jump up then you will not fall to the ground? Don’t you think that would be like lying to
yourself? In a similar manner, I have decided to put the Chapters of this book in form of
rules. If you decide to break any one of those rules then it is the same as telling yourself that
you can jump up and never fall to the ground.

I should be quick to mention that there are many other rules in addition to the ones I have
mentioned above which can help you to enhance your potential of passing an examination.
In each Chapter, I have gone into details of how you can use those rules and principles to
your advantage. I have explained how to utilize and take advantage of those rules and
principles so that you pass your examinations. I implore and urge you to have a booklet
where you will take note of the ideas I have expressed in this book in form of a summary. As
you read through this book, you will come across beneficial ideas. As you read through this
book, you will bump into great ideas which can help you pass the next exam you write. Jot
down those ideas, write them down in a note book. At other times, what I will be explaining
in this book will make your brains to generate useful ideas and actions to take in order to
enhance the passing of any examination. Again, write down those ideas somewhere in order
to remember them and not to forget them.

In conclusion, let me say once more that every rule that you break has got consequences.
Normally the consequences of breaking a rule are painful. This is the rule of cause and
effect. To every effect there is a cause. And to every cause there is an effect. Unfortunately,
that is just the nature of life and there is nothing you can do to avoid that. You just have to
follow the rules and the effects will be desirable.

One day when I was in secondary school, we had a School Assembly. Our Head Teacher said
something that I still remember even up to today. What he said helped to encourage and
motivate me throughout my academic and professional journey. I will not be so stingy not to
share what he said to us with you. I am obliged to share that with you my dear reader and
student. During School Assemblies, the teachers on duty and the Headmaster would make
announcements. Many times, we used to be privileged not to miss out on words of
encouragement and words of wisdom from our School Head Teacher. This used to be nice
and good.

Now, what did the head teacher say to us? He said, “Success is not an accident.” Yes you
got me right, he said, “SUCCESS IS NOT AN ACCIDENT.” What does this mean then? It
means that you will not work up one day and accidentally find yourself successful in
whatever you want to do and achieve. To every effect, there is a cause. When the head
teacher said this to us, he was encouraging us to study and put in the necessary effort if we
were to do well in our examinations.
Now what do I mean? This is what I mean when it comes to academic and school work. You
need to put in the required effort, the required work in order for you to achieve the intended
and desirable results.

Like a maize field which is just planted and not weeded, the harvest may not be plentiful.
There is some work to do. Biblical Scriptures puts it this way, “Do not be deceived: God
cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” Galatians 6:7

I like paraphrasing it this way, “Brethren, do not be deceived, for whatever a man soweth, so
shalt he reap.” Meaning you shall reap what you sow. In other words it says you shall
harvest what you plant. Or your results are dependent on what you do. It cannot be an
accident. You don’t just wake up and get good results, you need to do something that will
eventually make you to get those good results.
CHAPTER 1: THE RULE OF STARTING.

It is not possible to finish and complete what you have not started. So, starting is the key
here. You can only complete what you have started. Do not expect to complete and finish
what you have not started. Again, they say the earlier the better. The earlier you start the
better for you.

Now, I have come across students who will say that we are just in Grade 8 and therefore
there is no need for us to start working hard. After all, last year when we were in Grade 7 we
worked hard and studied hard. It is now time for us to rest. It is time for us to relax.
Similarly, I have also heard pupils in Grade 10 who will say that we are just in Grade 10 and
the final examinations for Grade 12 are still far, about three years from now. We were in
Grade 9 last year where we worked hard and studied hard. It is now time for us to rest. It is
time for us to relax.

Some first and second year College and University students are tempted to say the same
thing. Luckily, most Colleges and Universities may not allow you to move on to the next
semester or year if you do not pass the courses for that particular semester or year. You
should start and start now. You should begin preparing for your exams now, not
tomorrow, not next week, not next month, not next semester or next year. Start now.
They say complacency is the thief of time.

It still gets back to the earlier the better. Many students have scored lower marks because of
starting serious reading and studying rather late. Do not fall into that trap. Do not be a
victim of starting late. The earlier the better, start early.

THANK YOU FOR PERUSING THROUGH THIS WORK.
