occurred before your visit (note – there must be evidence that this interaction occurred).

2. A completed copy of the Sit & Spot Ecology Worksheet (this document)
Note – please include your photos/drawings in this document.

When you click on the assignment submission link, you should see the marking rubric.

A. Your name:

B. Date of third visit to your site:

C. Duration of observations (at least 10 minutes):

D. Find an example of a biotic interaction (past or present) at your site that does not involve humans
(e.g., amensalism, commensalism, mutualism, interspecific competition, intraspecific competition,
herbivory, parasitism, or predation). It can involve the species you identified for a previous worksheet
or a new species.

Provide a photo or a drawing of this interaction (please insert image below).

1
Ei) Name the type of interaction that is occurring, or occurred in the past (note – if the interaction
occurred in the past, there must be evidence of this interaction at your site).

iii If possible, identify both species involved in the interaction. If you can’t identify them to species, it is
okay to use a higher taxonomic category. If one of the two species is no longer present, please just
write “unknown” for that species.

iii) Briefly describe the potential fitness effects of this interaction for both species/individuals (+ / - / 0)
and the reasons why. If you research this outcome, please provide a reference.

2
F. List at least three additional ecology-related questions that an ecologist might ask about your Sit
Spot site. Questions can be about abiotic/biotic factors, population ecology, community ecology or
ecosystem ecology. No answers are required (but see question F below).

G. Choose ONE of your additional one of your additional ecology-related questions (from F above).
Provide an answer to your question. If you research your answer to this question, please provide the
reference(s); any format can be used.
