1.3 Juan, a young leader in my neighborhood, plays a key role in addressing various

community issues. For example, when the power lines fell and left the neighborhood in

darkness, Juan took charge. He promptly contacted the authorities responsible for resolving

the energy crisis. Over the past four years, Juan has consistently fulfilled this role, earning

him the reputation of the most influential figure in the neighborhood.

1. Why did Greta Thunberg start to be concerned about climate change?

"It is evident that climate change is a reality and not a hypothesis. Greta Thunberg witnesses

what is happening regarding climate change. She has noticed the consequences of it and has

embarked on a journey to investigate the negative impacts it entails. For this reason, Greta

Thunberg has started to worry about climate change."

2. What have her parents changed to support her ideas?

Greta's parents didn't believe her at first, but after she showed them evidence of climate

change's consequences, they believed her and have been supporting her ever since. They've

become her biggest supporters, encouraging her to pursue her goals in mitigating the effects

of climate change.

3. Have you noticed any change in the environment of your region?

Mention some of them.

I have noticed real changes in the environment in my region such as:

The increase in temperature is noticeable; it's a fact that temperatures have been rising due to

environmental pollution. Changes in climate have affected vegetation growth distribution,

potentially leading to mitigation of certain plant species.
