Malala Yousafzai

In this presentation we will talk about a personality who played an important

role in women's rights, Malala Yousafzai.
Malala Yousafzai was born in Mingora, Pakistan, on July 12, 1997. When she
was 11 years old, the Taliban took control of the city in the Swat Valley,
banning many things, one of which was that girls could not attend school.
Due to this control, Malala began to report the situation, and she was the only
one who had the courage to talk about it. She was so successful that she
caught the attention of the Taliban who, on October 9, 2012, shot her, hitting
her in the head.
Malala was taken to Queen Elizabeth's Hospital in Birmingham, United
Kingdom, where she was in a coma for 10 days. After months of surgery and
rehabilitation, Malala survived and became stronger, determined to defend the
right to education.
Because of the constant threats, the family took refuge in England and in this
new country, Malala was able to return to school, in freedom. After that, she
created the Malala Fund, a charity dedicated to girls, giving them the
opportunity to achieve a future. Thus, she received the Nobel Peace Prize in
December 2014.
Receiving several other awards. Nowadays Malala is doing well and
continues to help girls not only from her city but also from other cities in the
fight against education. “A child, a teacher, a book, a pen. Education is the
solution. Education first.” a phrase often said by Malala.
