INTRODUCTION

The most effective method to develop the competence and skills of


students through hands and training. This process exposes the students to the
different fields and learned moreover, it allows the students to become familiar
and made known with the actual operations of the business and the state of the
art facilities, equipment and technology used.

On-the-Job training (OJT) helps the students how a job work and provide
sufficient knowledge to the field they had chosen. It is apart of college curriculum
that aims to orient and train students about their future career. OJT is very
important not only to teach students their chosen career but also to show
students the reality about working. The goal of OJT program is to place the
participants in occupation that will enhance their prospects for long term
employment and will ultimately permit employment competencies through
exposure in an actual work setting, work tasks and tools, and methods of
specific job or group of jobs

The hospitality industry is growing rapidly and in the last decades, the
industry has got much importance of vigorous process of expansion. It is
expanding locally and globally as well as promoting its growth in a changing
multinational environment. Hotel and Restaurants are one of the key planners of
this industry.

This OJT report contains the experiences learning insights gained and
some supporting documents required for the internship program of Philippine
College of Science and Technology, Calasiao, Pangasinan.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT

Pangasinan Regency Hotel is known landmark in the town of Calasiao. It


offers services for spacious events, venue as well as smooth lodging Pangasinan
Regency Hotel is a corporation duly organized and existing under by the law of
the Philippines with its Principal Office at Jose de Venecia Avenue Calasiao,
Pangasinan. It was incorporated on July 20, 1999 and whose Principal purpose
is the construction and operation of Hotel and Restaurant. Pangasinan Regency
Hotel is organized with its new management by well respected and established
businessmen and professionals locally and is known to be the Primary Training
Center of North Central Luzon by several government entities from Provincial up
to Regional Province. The hotel has 565 rooms plus the penthouse. The rooms
has all amenities of a first class hotel, well-carpeted rooms, with refrigerator, TV
sets and cabinet to meet the needs of our valued guests. A typical room in this
hotel comes equipped with the vision, hot and cold shower bath tub, air
conditioned and buffet breakfast and dinner for two all of these amenities can be
experience for just 1,500 per night.

cooperation with for the benefits of all concerned.

fair return. And above all, we restock the truisms that only an unshaken faith
in Almighty God can help us grasp and realize these mission and vision.

ADDRESS

Pangasinan Regency Hotel (PRH) is located at De Venecia Highway,


Nalsian Calasiao, Pangasinan. It has fifty-six (56) rooms with a penthouse.
Pangasinan Regency Hotel is known to be primary training center North of Luzon
by several governement Regional, Provincial, and Municipal Offices. It also
cartels to wedding, birthdays, or debuts , anniversaries, inductions, etc. It is a five
minutes drive to the famous Shrine Senior Divino Tesoro , 20 minutes ride to the
blurting City of Dagupan and 30 minutes drive away from Our Lady of Manaoag
Shrine and beautiful beaches of San Fabian.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Housekeeping Department)

Housekeeping Supervisor

 Supervises the inventory of the Department. Checks and Controls the


supplies stocks

in the housekeeping such as the linens, Towel, Blankets, and other


Amenities.

Bellboy

 Often called a porter or bellhop, is responsible for making a good first


impression on hotel guest, moving luggage, showing guests to their room
and acting as a concierge. Bellboy must be friendly, responsible and have
superior customer service skills.

Room Attendant/Chambermaid

 Performs routine duties in cleaning and servicing of guestrooms and baths


under supervision of housekeeping supervisor. Room attendant promotes a
positive image of
the property to guest and must be pleasant, honest, friendly and should
also able to address guest requests and problems.

MY PERSONAL STRATEGY PAGE

Training an employee on the job that is one of the most effective teaching
methods because it gives the worker practical experience with the tools and
equipment she will be working with each day. As such, on-the-job training is one
of the most common types of training used in the workplace especially for
vocational jobs such as those in manufacturing.

By training in the workplace, a new employee also has the chance to get
to know the people and the environment earlier. He or she often gets a chance to
interact closely with new co- workers and get practical advice about doing the
job. Many times, the person who will be doing the training and evaluation is the
new worker's supervisor or manager, so this also establishes job expectations
from the very beginning. The feedback during on-the-job training is also
immediate, so the new employee may experience faster growth in the job than he
would in other types of training situations. During my training, the strategies that I
used are the following: Desire. Trainees have an insatiable desire to improve.
They are self-motivated and take action in the absence of specific direction. Their
burning desire enables them to take the "full dose" of the training.

Ability to train alone. While a group of dynamic offers encouragement


and mutual accountability, there are times when a traince must work alone. A
trainee will find a way to face rigorous protocols alone and unafraid. The seeds of
world class performance are often born in the silence and solitude of the morning
darkness.

Behavior under duress. Trainees are able to deal with injury and the
mental anguish of rehabilitation. They may get temporarily discouraged, but are
able to bounce back quickly and with even greater resolve. They understand that
pain and injury are part of the contract. Trainees reveal their true character in
times of discomfort and adversity.

RELEVANCE/IMPORTANCE OF TRAINING

Some of the students often graduate from university/ college have trouble
finding employment. The reason for this is because students are not given any
training making them less favorable for immediate hiring Companies wants to
deploy prospects that can be productive immediately following their hiring
especially if they have the choice between students that is only wet behind the
ear or a graduate with real world experience. For me, experience is very
important for those who are studying Hospitality courses.

Today's generation, universities/ colleges offered hands on training for the


preparation of students for work in the real world. One of the greatest attributes
of these colleges that they offer stages or internship that are geared towards
providing all of their students with actual experience working in their intended
field of expertise.

Most institutions have agreements with selected companies to ensure that


all students will benefit from actual experience before they are awarded their
diploma. This program helps to ensure the placement of graduates greatly
increasing the chances of successful employments. Besides, experienced
training also teaches us how to act in the work in the environment. It teaches a
level of professionalism while educating in the areas of time, management,
communication skills and self discipline. According to Jason Doughert," a trainee
must learn first to be quite, then to be alone, then to face and examine himself,
then to recognize and speak truth and finally to be with others, unaffected bi
circumstances or surroundings of single mind.

There is lots of importance of training. One of this is it helps in addressing


employees weaknesses. Most workers have certain weaknesses in their
workplace which hinder them from ping the best services. Training assists in
eliminating these weaknesses by strengthening workers skills. A well organized
development program helps employees gain similar skills and knowledge, this
bringing them all to a higher uniform level and improve the workers performance
Through training and development, the employee acquires all the knowledge and
skills needed in their day to day tasks. Workers can perform at a faster rate and
with efficiency thus increasing overall productivity of the company. They also gain
new tactics of overcoming challenges when they face them. A well organized
training gives the workers constant knowledge and experience. Consistency is
very vital when it comes to organizations or company's procedures and policies.
This mostly includes administrative procedures and ethics during execution of
duty.

Well trained and effective employees are more important than ever for
business success. Having a team with right skills allows business to meet the
challenges of competition, growth and innovation. Whether the organization
decides to extend the skills of existing staffs or to recruit new employees, the
business will still benefit from apprenticeship programs. Having an experience
like training is a big achievement to a student because it will help them to find a
job easier. A properly trained employee becomes more informed about
procedures for various tasks The worker confidence is also boosted by training
and development. This confidence comes from the fact that the employee is fully
aware of his her roles and responsibilities. The moment they gain the necessary
skills and knowledge, employees will become more confident. They will become
self-reliant and require only little guidance as they perform their tasks. The
supervisor can depend on the employee's decision to give quality output. This
relieves the supervisor the burden of constantly having to give directives on what
should be done.

The benefits of training improve morale of employees. Training helps


employer to get job security and job satisfaction. The more satisfied the
employee is, the more he will contribute to organizational success A well trained
employee will be well acquainted with the job and will need less supervision.
Thus, there will be less wastage of time and efforts. Fewer accidents or errors
are likely to occur if the employee is lack of knowledge and skills required for
doing a particular job The more trained the employee is, the less are chances of
committing accidents in job and the more eligible for promotion. They become an
asset for the organization Training and development makes the employee also
feel satisfied with the role they play in the company/organization. This is driven
by the great ability they gain to execute their duties They feel they belong to the
company or the organization they worked for and the only way to reward it is by
giving the best services they can.

RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE ESTABLISHMENT


Pangasinan Regency Hotel HOUSE RULES AND REGULATIONS

We want you to experience exquisite leisure, comfort and secured, may


we request that you adhere to the rules and regulation of the hotel to avoid any
inconvenience that will hinder your stay to be memorable and worthwhile.

1. Check out time is at 12:00 noon. Please notify the front office in case of stay
extension so proper additional room charges will be added to your actual bill.

2. Only guests who have registered from our front desk can use the room for
overnight/ sleep over stays.

3. Room transfer request should be notified to the front desk within thirty (30)
minutes upon check-in.

4. Observe cleanliness and neatness of the room and its amenities.

5. Guests are prohibited to use the rooms as business office, showroom,


exhibited areas, etc. We

have our restaurant and function hall for occasions such as these.

6. Secure and deposit room key at the front desk whenever leaving the hotel
premises.

7. Make sure to lock the door when inside the room especially during sleeping at
night time.

8. Bringing in of firearms and other deadly weapons is prohibited. Please deposit


these items at the front office for security purpose.

9. Make sure to identify the person who knocks to your door before getting him
in. Call the front desk for a suspicious-looking character who wants to enter your
room.

10. Avoid creating any form of disturbance inside the room or at the hallways
that could annoy other guests.
11. Visitors are not allowed to enter or stay in the guest's room beyond eleven
o'clock in the evening.

12. Additional room charges will be added to your actual room bill for
unregistered visitors who ever stay or sleep over.

13. Refrain from removing and destroying hotel decorations in the room.
Destroyed fixtures will be charged to you.

14. Refrain from using appliances such as iron, hair dryer, and other personal
effects.

15. Avoid smoking inside your room.

16. All kinds of pet animals are not allowed inside the guest room.

17. Keep your cash and valuable to a safe place. The hotel will not be liable in
case of loss or damage of cash or valuables during your stay. Please be
reminded to deposit valuables to the safety vault at the Front Office.

18. When leaving your room, please turn off lights and air conditioner. Make
sure that faucets are closed. Door is locked before leaving the room.

19. Please return the key and TV remote control at the front office upon check-
out. Lost/Misplaced of room key will be charged P250.00 and TV remote will be
charged P 1,000.00

20. In case of emergency, please call the front office for assistance.

21. In case of fire, earthquake or brownout, do not use the elevator. Use our (2)
stairs on emergency exist.

22. The hotel is equipped with automatic fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and
fire alarm system.

December 13,2022 (Tuesday)


The first day of my internship, i felt nervous because i have no idea on
what department we will be in this day. and after a minute ma’am cherry came
and and assigned me on the green achers department and assigned us to clean
and do the set up because there is an event which is Christening.
January 15,2023 (Sunday)
Today, when we entered the Pangasinan Regency Hotel, we went into
the housekeeping department and folded the towels, bedsheets, and pillow
cases. After cleaning the housekeeping department's stock room, our head
directed us to wash all of the buckets and soap for the bathroom so that it is
clean when the guests use it.
January 16,2023 (Monday)
On this day during our internship, they mocked us for not understanding
how to set up the table for the events because there were so many things to do
with the napkins, saucers, cups, spoons, and forks, but after an hour, I did. It is
simple when you start spreading the napkin first, then the tissues, and then
whatever else.
January 17, 2023 (Tuesday)
On this day we continue to clean all the rooms in pangasinan regency
hotel we also clean the housekeeping department by folding the blankets, bed
covers, bedsheets and pillow.
January 18,2023 (Wednesday)
On this day we clean all the rooms in pangasinan regency hotel and every
10am and 3pm on the afternoon we have breaktime and take snacks. and 1pm at
the afternoon we continue to fold the blanket and wait the time out which is
5:00pm.
January 23, 2023 ( Monday ) 32
Today , me and my team assigned at the linen department. Fix and clean
the storage room in order to look it good when they will get what they need. After
we clean in the linen department we go to the housekeeping department and
help them to clean rooms. After a tiring day , the supervisor allow us to take a
rest and exactly 5pm he sign our dtr and go home
January 30, 2023 ( Monday)
Today , as we enter pangasinan regency hotel we felt excited because we
heard that the famous vlogger mr. kimpoy feleciano is in pangasinan regency
hotel. In the first place we saw him walking in the hallway we greet him “good
morning sir” with a big smile in our face . Around 3 pm they say that they will
check out because of their mall show at robinson place Pangasinan. We waited
him into hallway and took some pictures. Kimpoy is with ryza mae dizon and ryan
agoncillo . After a minute the front desk call and then she told our supervisor that
they will check out we go down stairs to clean the room.
February 08, 2023 (Wednesday)
Today , i was assigned at lavanderie laundry area . Exactly 8:00 am in the
morning when we start cleaning all of the machines after a while ate lala start to
wash the clothes and other stuff of hotel. They teach us on where we will gonna
put the detergent, bleach and fabric conditioner on the machine. After 40 mins of
waiting we will fold all the clothes and other things of hotel . While folding we
need to spray it with fabric conditioners to make it smell good . After folding we
will arrange it and put into a plastic bag so that the customers will ready to pick it
up.
February 09, 2023 ( Thursday)
Today is my second day of lavanderie with my co-interns . As we enter in
to laundry we just continue what we did in feb. 8 . As usual we fold the clothes
and other stuff of hotel, 12:00 when we decided to eat our lunch and then exactly
1:00 pm ate lala called me jammel and jesusa to clean the office of mr. joseph
geronilla and also the couple minds . After a tiring day exactly 5 pm when they
allow us to go home
February 10, 2023 (FRIDAY) 33
That day we did an inventory of the flowers at the couple mind events
studio that was used in the plaza. We counted those flowers and put them in the
staff room where they put other flowers and then we cleaned and folded the
towels bed sheets and blankets and after we folded them, I put them in plastic
and wrote how many there were so they would know how many they were.
February 21, 2023 (TUESDAY)
During our days we were still assigned to the laundry, we swept outside
and wiped the washing after we sifted the laundry and after it dried we folded it.
And then we passed the school's requirements for graduation
February 27, 2023 (MONDAY)
On that day, we were in the laundry in the morning, we were cleaning, we
were wiping the washing, and then we were sifting after it was dry and we were
going to fold it.
March 03, 2023 ( Friday)
Today is the check out of DOH. But before they leave a hotel they have a
seminar in the morning. Ma’am cherry assigned us at Roof deck (RD) to help
them assist and serves foods and snacks for the DOH. In the afternoon we go
back to the housekeeping because we had a lot of rooms to clean today . It is a
tiring day indeed but we enjoyed it , they sign our dtr x2 today because we are
tired and we have done a lot of things today.

March 21,2023(Tuesday)
Today , me and my team was assign at KTV ROOMS. This was the
second time that i enter in this department. They told us that we need to change
the table cloths because it is already dirty and all of the rooms will be used within
this day. We’ve been into linen and get some cloth to change it. Jammel taught
us on how to do a simple and easy way of skirting the table cloth.
April 01 , 2023 (Saturday)
Saturday morning and we are assigned at the roof deck (RD) . We will
going to set-up for birthday. As we reach the RD of hotel, we clean first the area
and put the tables, after putting tables now we are arranging the table set-up .
After an hour sir albert allow us to take our lunch . Exactly 1 pm when we
continue what we are doing earlier. 5pm in the afternoon, we decided to go
home.
April 11,2023(Tuesday)

Today , we need 200 pieces of bed box . We need to put 3 pieces of bed
box in every rooms because they are fully booked. The same day the elevator of
hotel is not in good condition so we need to cary the bed box and put it into 3rd
floor. Yes , it is very tiring day sir randy sign our DTR X2 because they know that
we are all tired today.
(April 29, 2023)

This is my last day of my internship at the Regency Hotel. I feel a little bit
sad and happy at the same time. Im so emotional at that time because I will
undoubtedly miss the mentors who help us with our OJT.. I will forever treasure
the leanings, the lessons and the memories.

April 21, 2023(DTI SEMINAR)


It was a very educational day. Our second speaker really caught my
attention in every word he said; his passion, his background, and the journey he
took to get where he is now are truly inspiring. Today, all of the 4th year students
are gathered for the DTI seminar and testimonial launch at the Pangasinan
Regency hotel. Prof. Mark C. Dulag delivered talks that inspired us. I pay close
attention to everything he says since his life story inspires me much, and now
that he has achieved success, I aspire to be just like him someday.

GRADBALL
The fact that our graduation ball is today makes me very happy. My fellow
graduates were still waiting for the others when the others arrived at the
Pangasinan Regency Hotel, where we checked in at six o'clock. At exactly 6:05 i
decided to go there, and when i got there, some of my classmates were already
there. It was a lot of fun because and the program started an hour later. I greatly
value attending this event since it helps me realize that I can no longer observe
my classmates having a wonderful time since I'm graduating.

We are all aware that we shall part ways after graduation The memories
we make tonight will be treasured because this is the nicest party I have ever
attended. We enjoyed the party and danced on the dance floor as the night
ended. All I can say is a job well done to all the event organizers because this is
the memorable night. I sobbed a little because this would be the last time we
would bond together.
