Symptom
You want to install SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA on a certified and supported server. This SAP
Note provides instructions as to which hardware platforms are certified for SAP Business One, version for
SAP HANA and some additional information.
Note: As this SAP Note is constantly updated, please do not forget to look for the latest version.

Solution
Since the release of SAP Business One solutions running on SAP HANA, customers have had to search for
the available certified configurations in order to be fully supported. To guide you through this process, we
would like you to first check the available configurations at Certified SAP HANA® Hardware Directory; then
go to the Certified Appliances tab and filter by Appliance Type 'SAP Business One'. You will find all available
SAP Business One configurations certified for SAP HANA.
To order them from a hardware reseller, you should use the latest and most recent configuration document
available from the server vendor, which is attached to this SAP Note.
The partner or the customer should send the pdf files from the desired server brand to the respective reseller,
and then ask them to provide a quotation for the selected server model, memory size, and disk layer (if there
is more than one option, such as Lenovo's certified options).
New configurations (all the pdf files) and older configurations
(BoM_Dell_Fujitsu_IBM_HP_Huawei_Lenovo.xlsx): Always use New configurations when ordering SAP
Business One, version for SAP HANA servers (please check data from the pdf files)!
Update from January 2021:
Inclusion of new and refreshed official BoM for Cascade Lake architecture (the latest one), from Lenovo.
• The new Lenovo solution guide, adds recommendations for the Intel 2-socket 4210R and 4214R
Cascade Lake Refresh processors.
• 2-socket servers ranging from 96GB for 35 users up to 3TB for 500 users are supported and 4-socket
servers ranging from 192GB up to 3TB.
• Also added are additional OS certification notes, how to access Lenovo configuration templates and
pre-sales support.

As of this date, SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA has new certified configurations available, up to
1,5 TB of memory from Huawei.
New pdf files have been added from Huawei and Dell (minor changes).
For Skylake, SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA continues with an "entry-level" CPU, Intel Xeon SP
Silver 4114, which is supported from 96GB up to 384GB of memory (higher specification CPUs are also
supported for these RAM sizes).

For the mainstream, with memory between 384GB and 1,5TB, the supported CPU is the Intel Xeon SP Gold
5118 or higher specification CPU.
For the high end, with memory between 1,5TB and 3TB (only Dell is certified to date), the supported CPU is
the Intel Xeon SP Platinum 8176M or 8180M in the 2 sockets configuration, or Intel Xeon SP Platinum
8176/8180 in the 4 sockets configuration.
Update from April 2018:
As of this date, SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA has new certified configurations available (up to 3
TB of memory in specified brands).
New pdf files have been added from Dell, Fujitsu, HPE and Lenovo.
For Skylake, SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA continues with an "entry-level" CPU, Intel Xeon SP
Silver 4114, which is supported from 96GB up to 384GB of memory (higher specification CPUs are also

available (up to 3 TB of memory).
New pdf files have been added from Dell and Huawei, the two options with servers up to 3 TB.
Update from June 2017:
New pdf files have been added from Dell, Fujitsu, Huawei, and Lenovo that should be used when ordering
the server configurations.
Since Broadwell v4 architecture (not any older architecture such as Haswell v3, Ivybridge v2, or
Sandybridge):
• If a customer orders an SAP Business One HANA server with less than 256GB, they can run it with 2x
E5-2630v4 CPUs, or any other E5-26xx with higher specs than this.
• If a customer orders an SAP Business One HANA server with equal to or more than 256GB, they must
have an E5-2650v4 or any other E5-26xx with higher specs than the E5-2650v4.
Whenever a partner adds a stronger-than-certified CPU, there is no need for a newer certification. All the
other components need to follow the BoM (SKU or description of the component, since SKUs could change in
each geography).
