APPLYING THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT INDICATORS ON THE EGYPTIAN CITIES

SUMMARY
The development of urban communities is a sustainable process which keeps changing in a dynamic way,
this changing nature is reflected in growth rates. Within this concept, there is a great importance of indicators
to measure the development efficiency of urban societies and the reflection of these indicators on the
decisions of investment attraction and international partnership.
The paper focuses primarily on the quality of life and advancing the development of urban development
to transform the Egyptian cities from consumer cities into productive cities effective in all ways of
sustainable economic, urban, social and environmental development and aims to achieve sustainable urban
development in the Egyptian cities to maximize the role of investment and international partnership through
identifying the global prosperity indicators.
This paper examined three main elements: "indicators of sustainable development, Egyptian cities & the
most important methods of maximizing investments and international partnership". Those three elements
were analyzed through identifying there repetition in the objectives and indicators of the United Nations.
Then concluding the most repeated indicators to be applied on the Egyptian cities case to conclude some
recommendations that are required to encourage the investment climate in Egypt.
