Strategy

A strategy is the description of a long-term plan of action used to set and subsequently coordinate actions aimed at achieving a
predetermined goal. Strategy applies to all fields in which a series of separate operations are required to achieve the goal, the choice
of which is not unique and/or the outcome of which is uncertain.

The effectiveness of a strategy is based on the clarity and degree of detail with which the objective is defined.

The Deming Cycle
Any self-respecting strategy must be continually improved to match the interests
of its target audience, take advantage of new tools offered by forms of
communication such as social networks, and keep pace to achieve the best results.
In digital marketing, the amount of data and information available is massive
(companies like Netflix and Procter & Gamble use Big Data to anticipate customer
demand).

We owe to William Edwards Deming, an engineer who made an essential


contribution to the revival of the Japanese economy from 1947 and helped lay the
foundations of modern Japan, the theory of the continuous improvement cycle:
PLAN, DO, CHECK, ACT.
