Medium Voltage Switchgear

SGear is an indoor-type Medium Voltage metalclad
switchgear up to 33kV. The design of SGear is according
to AC Metalclad Enclosed Switchgear and Controlgear
standard of IEC 62271.
With SGear, we have the privilege to unite the brand for
both Medium and Low Voltage switchgears. With this, we

SGear is ASTA Type Tested, strongly constructed using
state of the art double-folding technique and inbuilt with

Superior and Reliable Interlocking
System
Safety is definitely the prerequisite criterion to be considered
when designing SGear. SGear is equipped with superior
interlocking systems to prevent unintended operation, thus
enhancing its safety measures.
• The circuit breaker must be in the Open position only
then it is allowed to be racked-in to or racked-out from
the connected position
• The circuit breaker can only be closed or open if it is in
the total connected or total disconnected position (and
no in-between)
• The secondary socket is not allowed to be unplugged if
the circuit breaker is in the connected position
• The earth switch is not allowed to be closed when the
circuit breaker is in connected position
• The circuit breaker is not allowed to be racked-in to
connected position when the earth switch is in Closed
position

earth witch is in open position

Automatic Shutter System
SGear is equipped with automatic safety shutter. When the
circuit breaker is racked-out from connected position to either
test or disconnected position, the safety shutter will
automatically close to cover the live parts. This is to prevent
any possible contact of personnel when the circuit breaker is
racked-out, especially during maintenance time.
Pressure Release Channel
Each compartment of the main circuit system is
equipped with a pressure release channel.
During the event of an internal arc-fault, the
pressure release channel flap will automatically
open up, thus guiding the pressurised gas
resulted from the fault to the rear side direction.
This mechanism minimises damage to the
switchgear components and cubicle.

Earth Switch
Circuit earthing is achieved through an integral fault-making
earthing switch interlocked with the circuit breaker and is
proven to be safe, simple and reliable.
Full Segregation
SGear is made of electro-gavanized steel plate . It is
constructed to have a full segregation for the busbar,
circuit breaker, low voltage components and cable, thus
achieving the requirements of a compartmented
switchgear or control-gear as defined in IEC standards.
The compartments are also made of steel plate with the
intention to minimize the exposure of live parts when
handling the switchgear and to minimize the damage
area in the event of fault occurs.

SVac
SVac is indoor type 12kV Vacuum Circuit Breaker which its versatile design concept that emphasizes
insulation integrity, robustness and compact size makes it suitable for diverse application
requirements. The design of SVac is in accordance to IEC62271-100.
SVac has minimal arcing as there is nothing to ionise in the vacuum tube, thus the arc will quench
even when it is stretched a very small amount (<2-3mm).
SVac utilizes low energy level mechanism to operate. This has allowed SVac mechanism construction
to be simple, light weight and with minimal tolerances, and which will perform consistently throughout
the circuit breaker’s life-span without the need for periodic adjustments.
