applicable to our nails.

5. Presentation

For today lesson I will discuss the

different nail shapes.

So these are the different nail shape.

Let’s tackle one by one.

First is the oval nail shape.

This is common among people with long,

perfect nail beds. It may be sytled slightly
rounded at the base and slightly pointed at
the fingertips. Most often this type of nail
has a natural look and looks very good in a
short-medium length.

Next is Round nail shape

Please read the definition.

Round is ideal for shorter nails, the nail
is allowed to grow out straight at the
sides for approximately 1.5 mm and
then the tip is filed into a rounded
shape. This is a strong shape which is
great for those who keep their nails
short.
The third is square shape.

Please read the definition.

The square-shaped nails are the most
famous among the nail shapes. It is
created by allowing the nail to grow out
straight across at right angles with the
rest of the nail plate.

Next is the squaoval.

Everybody read.
A nail shape that combines the two
shapes. It is created by shaping the nail
as a square first and then filing off the
harsh corners to give them a smooth,
rounded look.
Next is Almond shape.

Everybody read. Filed along the sides. The nail wall is

tapered to end in a round peak, similar
to the shape of an actual almond.
Natural nails are often too weak to hold
this structure on their own, so most
almond manicures are reinforced with
gel or acyclic.

The last one is Stiletto nail shape.

Please read everyone. It is filed away at the sides to a point at

the tip: this shape is very weak as the
sides of the nail (which provide the
strength) are totally lost.

Okay thank you. So now let’s have our

activity.

Group 4: Lipstick Nail Shape Group 1: Flare Nail Shape
Flared nails are very unique when it
comes to acrylic nail shapes. These nails
are wider at the tips and then tapper
down on the way to the nail bed.

Group 2: Ballerina Nail Shape

Ballet nails are a shape that sits halfway
between an almond nail (tapered with a
round tip) and a coffin nail (tapered
with a sharp tip). Ballerina nails have a
soft, tapered square shape that
resembles the pointe shoes in ballet.

Group 3: Coffin Nail Shape

Coffin nails are long like stiletto nails,
but instead of a pointy tip at the end,
they flatten out to resemble a coffin.

Group 4: Lipstick Nail Shape

nail is filed into a slant like the tip of a
fresh lipstick.
