Recipe Lentil SOUP

Ingredients:
• Lentils (preferably Orange) --------------------------------------- 1 packet.
• Carrots ----------------------------------------------------------------- 3 medium sized
• Potatoes --------------------------------------------------------------- 2 medium sized
• Onions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 3 medium sized
• Tomatoes -------------------------------------------------------------- 2 medium sized
• Garlic -------------------------------------------------------------------- 10-12 Cloves
• Green Chilies ---------------------------------------------------------- 2 to 3 pieces
• Black Cloves ------------------------------------------------------------ 6-7 pieces
• Black peppercorns ---------------------------------------------------- 2 tbsp
• Cardamom seeds ------------------------------------------------------ 7-8 pieces
• Coriander powder ---------------------------------------------------- 1 ½ tbsp
• Cumin powder --------------------------------------------------------- 2 tbsp
• Cumin seeds ------------------------------------------------------------ 1 tbsp
• Turmeric powder ------------------------------------------------------ ½ tbsp
• Ginger powder ---------------------------------------------------------- ½ tbsp
• Nutmeg powder --------------------------------------------------------- 1 tsp
• Cinamon powder -------------------------------------------------------- 1 tsp
• Chicken/vegetable stock powder ----------------------------------- 1 tbsp
• Honey ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 ½ tbsp
• Salt ------------------------------------------------------------------------- approx. 2 to 3 tbsp
• Butter ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 150 grams
• Oil ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20 ml
• Cream --------------------------------------------------------------------- 100 ml

Process:
Step 1: Cut all the vegetables including onions, Potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, green chilies and
carrots. Wash the lentil thoroughly 3,4 times with luke warm water.
Step 2: Put butter and oil in the pan to heat up a little bit and then add onions and garlic and
cook them for 8 to 10 minutes on medium heat.
Step 3: Grind peppercorns, black cloves and cardamom seeds and add it in the pan with onions
and garlic along with ginger powder and turmeric powder and cook for 2,3 minutes.
Step 4: Now Add lentils alongside diced potatoes, tomatoes, carrots and green chilies inside the
pan and cook for 2-3 minutes and then add 8 to 9 glasses of water.
Step 5: Now Let the water get to a boil and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 6: Now add chicken stock powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, nutmeg, cinamon,
honey and salt according to the taste.

Step 7: Let the mixture cook for 20 to 25 minutes on medium to high heat until carrots and
potatoes are soft and easy to mash. Also adjust water at this point depending on the
consistency you want to achieve.
Step 8: Blend the whole mixture and make a smooth creamy texture of the soup and add cream
at the end (desirable). Cook for 5 more minutes and your soup is ready.
Step 9: Garnish it with chili oil with some chopped cilantro, fried onions and a piece of lemon
with a spoon full of labneh
