Before requesting the technical upgrade execution via Service Request, customer needs to start Upgrade preparation by completing the activities listed below:

How to acquire a CAS Package for Release Version Upgrade
Customer can choose to delegate to SAP the Upgrade planning & coordination, pre and post Upgrade tasks by acquiring an
optional CAS package.
As per Roles & Responsibilities this service can be performed by customer, but the customer may elect to have SAP
to deliver. CAS is subject to additional service fees as agreed in a customer’s contract.

• SPDD/SPAU adjustments
Customer or if there is a CAS Basis consultant involved (CAS package), he/she starts this activity and after is completed in SAP side, Customer/Partner Basis and
ABAP can proceed with the adjustments in their side.
• Verify all Interfaces / Batch jobs / switched back ON for all clients
Customer/Partner Basis and ABAP execute these tasks to “re-connect” the S/4Hana and Fiori systems to the hole landscape.
Be aware SAP ECS does not need to follow up in detail these activities, this section is totally Customer /Partner responsibility.
• SAP is responsible for the technical upgrade (to bring all SAP objects to the target version), and Customer/Partner is
responsible to validate all business scenarios keep working as expected once the technical upgrade is completed.
• If any issues during the functional validations, Customer/Partner functional team is responsible to do adjustments in the
configurations as needed it.
• In case of any issue (related to the application, not to the configuration), Customer/Partner needs to raise a ticket to SAP
Product Support to assist here.
