1. Based on your experience/observation,
a. In what subjects is the traditional assessment method used most? Why?
Traditional assessment refers to the conventional methods of testing which usually
produces written document, such as quizzes or exams. These comprise tests given to students by
teachers to measure how much the students have learned. The most widely used traditional
assessment tools include multiple-choice tests, true/false tests, short answers, and essays. They are
commonly utilized by teachers, schools, and assessment organizations because they are
economical, objective and easily scored. With this, most of the subjects used this kind of
assessment in order to test the student’s knowledge regarding certain lesson at certain subject.
Traditional assessment is often used in the subjects English, Mathematics, Filipino, Science, and
Araling Panlipunan.
b. In what subjects is authentic assessment method used most? Why?
Authentic assessment is about making visible and measurable standard) a performance that
is a valid (by this we mean relevant) indicator that the identified elements of the curriculum have
been learned in an integrated manner for the conditions in which they are ultimately intended to
be needed or used.
In order to demonstrate mastery in some disciplines, students have always been required
to create products and/or perform realistic tasks. In many disciplines, students' demonstrations of
mastery of various domains of learning objectives have not always been equated with
demonstrations of their capacities in real-world settings. Authentic assessments are often used in
Physical Education and TLE subjects. These are subjects that usually calls for the students’ skills
and abilities to accomplish tasks.

3. What happens when your assessment method does not match with your domain of learning?
Assessment is one of the critical components of classroom instruction. The most important
component of designing a new assessment or revising an old one is to ensure there is a match
between the objectives of the unit/course/lesson being assessed, the teaching/learning activities
used, and the assessment tool. If the assessment methods and tools do not correlate to the learning
domains, the assessments will be invalid and unreliable. It will not accurately assess the students'
performance. There will also be distress and failure on the part of the students because the
assessments implemented were not consistent with their capacity and knowledge. Assessment is
changing for a variety of reasons. Changes in the skills and knowledge required for success as well
as in our understanding of how students learn and the relationship between assessment and
instruction, have necessitated a shift in assessment strategies. Overall, the teacher and students will
be unable to assess their level of learning and performance because the assessments used were
inaccurate and illogical.
