PressureDropTool V1.0

This program allows users to calculate pressure drops through elements in a pipeline network. It provides ambient condition inputs, defines airflow parameters, and calculates pressure drops through components like pipes, contractions, expansions, elbows, and venturis. The total pressure drop is summarized. It also specifies fan specifications needed based on the calculated pressure drops.

Excel sheet user instructions
To use this tool, you have to choose several input parameters located in colored cells with bold border on the “Main

In a first part, you have to enter the following ambient conditions :

- Pressure (Pa)
- Temperature (°C)

Then, enter the parameters of air flowrate :

- Nominal diameter (m)
- Air velocity (m.s-1)
- Absolute humidity (kgwater.kgda-1)

Depending of the design of your flash dryer, to calculate the pressure drop you have to select all the pipeline eleme
For each element, you have to calculate the pressure drop and then sum up all pressure drop. Do not forget to
cyclone and the heat exchanger calculated in the other excel tools.
Thanks to that, you can calculate the necessary fan power.
