World Wide Web: The World Wide Web (WWW or simply the web) is a system of

browsers. It allows users to view, navigate, and interact with content such as text, images,

b) What is the Internet?


 Internet: The internet is a global network of interconnected computer networks that
communicate using a standardized set of protocols. It encompasses various services and
technologies, including the World Wide Web, email, file sharing, online gaming, and more.

c) WWW is one service on the Internet. What other services are available on the Internet?
Other Services on the Internet: In addition to the World Wide Web, other services on
the internet include:
 Email (Electronic Mail)
 File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
 Voice over IP (VoIP)
 Instant Messaging (IM)
 Online Gaming
 Video Streaming
 Remote Desktop Access

d) What are the other tasks you can do with the use of Internet apart from browsing internet?
 Send and receive emails

a) What are the steps in writing an email using Gmail?
 Steps in Writing an Email Using Gmail:
 Log in to your Gmail account.
 Click on the "Compose" button.
 Enter the recipient's email address in the "To" field.
 Enter the subject of the email in the "Subject" field.
 Write the content of the email in the message body.
 Click on the "Send" button to send the email.

b) What is the difference between CC and BCC in the email address list?
Difference between CC and BCC:
 CC (Carbon Copy): Other recipients can see who else received the email.

 BCC (Blind Carbon Copy): Other recipients are not visible to each other.

c) How do you attach a file when sending an email through Gmail?


 Attaching a File in Gmail:
 Compose a new email.
 Click on the "Attach files" icon (paperclip).
 Select the file(s) you want to attach from your device.
 The attached file(s) will appear below the subject line.

d) Is it possible to link other email accounts to Gmail? If yes, explain the process that is to be
followed for this.
Linking Other Email Accounts to Gmail: Yes, you can link other email accounts to
Gmail:
 Go to Gmail Settings.
 Navigate to "Accounts and Import" or "Check mail from other accounts."
 Click "Add a mail account."
 Follow the prompts to enter the other email account details.
 You can choose to import emails and set up sending from that account.

e) Email uses various protocols including POP, SMTP, and IMAP. Find out what these are and
give a brief explanation of them.
Email Protocols:

 POP (Post Office Protocol): Downloads emails from the server to a local device and usually
deletes them from the server.

 SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol): Used to send emails from a client to a server or
between servers.

 IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol): Allows emails to be stored on the server, synced
across devices, and managed without downloading.

a) What are the steps involved in creating a PayPal account?
 Go to the PayPal website.
 Click "Sign Up" or "Create an Account."
 Choose between a "Personal" or "Business" account.
 Provide your email address, create a password, and fill in personal information.
 Enter your credit/debit card or bank account information (optional).
 Confirm your email address by clicking on the verification link sent to your email.
 Complete any additional verification steps required by PayPal.

b) List down the steps to do, when linking a bank account to PayPal?
Steps to Link a Bank Account to PayPal:
 Log in to your PayPal account.
 Go to "Wallet" or "Settings."
 Click "Link a bank account" or "Add a bank account."
 Enter your bank account details, including routing and account numbers.
 Confirm the bank account by following PayPal's verification process.

c) List down the steps to link a Credit Card to PayPal Account?


 Log in to your PayPal account.
 Go to "Wallet" or "Settings."
 Click "Link a card" or "Add a card."
 Enter your credit card information, including card number and billing address.
 Confirm the credit card by following PayPal's verification process

d) Is the full PayPal service available in Sri Lanka fully, or does it have any restrictions?
 PayPal Service Availability in Sri Lanka: As of my last knowledge update in September
2021, PayPal does offer services in Sri Lanka, but there might be restrictions or limitations

compared to other countries. It's recommended to visit the official PayPal website or contact
PayPal customer support for the most up-to-date information on service availability and any
potential restrictions in Sri Lanka.
