EMPLOYMENT
PROSPECTS
The outlook of this job in Ontario is very good. The
availability is pretty open but it is declining

The availability of this job is declining because of fewer

new software companies and an increase in the number of
computer programmers

In Ontario the salary ranges from $45,760 to $119,995.

The number of computer programmers in 2016 was

151,900 and in 2023 it is 170,000.

Why I Would Be Best Suited for
This Occupation
I would say that there are many reasons why I would be best suited for this job. I spend a lot
of time at a computer which has made me well-versed in the world of software and
computers, this also has made my typing fairly efficient. I also feel that the style of coming to
work, socializing, and sitting down to begin the day fits me well. Computer programmers have
to multitask and juggle many different things in their job and I am confident that I would be
able to handle the multitasking. The whole idea of creating complex algorithms on a
computer to complete a task seems really interesting to me. Working as a computer
programmer can in most cases have flexible work hours, and this is really important to me
because I may not be able to wake up really early every morning to go to work but this job
may not have that issue. The growth opportunities for a computer programmer really show
when you have experience, the more experienced you are and the more skilled you are, the
more money you will make and you will work for bigger companies, that kind of job is exactly
what I am looking for in an occupation.
