“If one is hungry, one will find food some way or another. If there is food at home,
one will cook it. If there is nothing to cook, one will go outside and buy it, but one
will not stay hungry forever. Likewise, when you are feeling so much pain for
others, you will find ways to help. The truth is, anyone who comes to your
doorstep with pain, suffering or a need, should not be turned away. God does not
turn anyone away. The biggest sinner or the greatest saint – whoever comes and
knocks at God’s door, always has the door open for them. The same way, your
heart should open, and your home should be open. Believe Me, with true love and
selflessness, anything is possible. It may not happen today or now, but it will
happen eventually if you are persistent. Just imagine yourself as those who are
suffering and think from that point of view. Then, you will definitely decide to do
something about it. You will find some way or the other to do so. That thought
will not let you sleep, will not let you eat, will not let you stay at peace. That
powerful thought will attract everything to itself to make things happen.”

Sri Madhusudan Sai embarked on a European tour, spreading the message of 'One
World, One Family' through selfless service and love during his visits to various
nations.

During the commencement of Ramadan, Sri Madhusudan Sai imparted wisdom

during a Satsang in Istanbul, Türkiye, marking the beginning of his European tour.
Speaking at the Prema Yoga Ashram, he enlightened the audience on embracing a
life filled with selfless service, unconditional love, and spiritual unity.

In Zagreb, Croatia, a sacred atmosphere was set with a Vedic procession and a
Satsang where Sri Madhusudan Sai outlined upcoming initiatives by the Ananda
Trust, emphasizing the importance of spiritual companionship and announcing
plans for a new ashram. In Assisi, Italy, he drew inspiration from Saint Francis of
Assisi's life, praising his selfless service and devotion to God. A Bhoomi pooja was
performed at Casa Del Divino, one of the human development centers in Sri
Madhusudan Sai's Global Humanitarian Mission. This event highlighted Sri
Madhusudan Sai's mission of promoting righteousness and spiritual values globally.
The tour also featured a touching Satsang in Athens, Greece, with musical
performances and a call for love, compassion, and daily good deeds for a better
world.

.

A Bhoomi pooja ceremony marked the beginning of a new Skill Development

Centre (SDC) in Muddenahalli aimed at providing an alternative educational path.
The SDC will offer a comprehensive 2-year certificate course coupled with a 1-year
internship, focusing on plumbing, flow piping, and electrical technologies to equip
students with multiple skills. Upon completion, students are guaranteed jobs in
repair and maintenance departments, both locally and potentially globally. The
curriculum also includes basic English, computer skills, and Vedic chanting. Sri
Madhusudan Sai highlighted the importance of restoring dignity to students who
may have been overlooked by traditional education systems and emphasized the
significance of skilled vocations like electricians and plumbers in society's
functioning, akin to surgeons, aiming to promote equal dignity across all
professions.
Global Collaboration in Healthcare

The Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR)
and the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO) joined forces
through a new Memorandum of Understanding. This partnership paves the way for
knowledge sharing, research collaborations, and academic exchanges, driving
innovation and excellence in medical education across borders. A remarkable step
towards enriching healthcare ecosystems worldwide!
A 6-year DNB Course in Pediatric Surgery will start at SMSIMSR

The first day of the 2-Day IACTS SCORE event was inaugurated by Sri Madhusudan
Sai, accompanied by esteemed dignitaries and doctors. This hybrid learning
experience aims to provide comprehensive training to resident doctors and aspiring
surgeons nationwide in cardiovascular surgeries.

Dr. Minu Bajpai, Executive Director of NBE, announced plans for a new 6-year DNB
course in pediatric surgery at SMSIMSR, along with fellowships in pediatric
cardiovascular surgery, addressing the need for increased postgraduate seats amidst
healthcare workforce challenges.

Sri Madhusudan Sai, in his benedictory address, emphasized the importance of

knowledge-sharing and universal healthcare access, likening it to ancient practices.
He highlighted collective responsibility, stating that small individual efforts can lead
to significant collective achievements.

Maha Shivaratri Celebrations

This year's Maha Shivaratri commenced with the sacred Abhishekam and poojas in
the morning, with added spiritual significance as students from the Veda Gurukulum
chanted all the divine mantras for the first time.
Glimpses of Shivaratri
The Veda Gurukulum stands as a dedicated effort to uphold and propagate ancient
Vedic spirituality, crucial for revitalizing the world with its positive energy from pure
mantras. Sri Madhusudan Sai emphasized the vital role of Brahmanas in sustaining
society's consciousness through spiritual practices and austerities, preserving
traditions and culture for true prosperity.

Sri Madhusudan Sai reiterated that actions performed with faith, sincerity, honesty,
and integrity please Lord Shiva, representing purity and auspiciousness. The day's
celebrations served as a poignant reminder of the need to protect our cultural
heritage and the transformative power of spirituality globally.

In this modern society, how do we go about balancing
spirituality and the material world?
Ask ru
u
Sadg

When food is served at a function, many dishes are prepared and kept ready. There
are certain foods that you may like, but another person may not like them, and vice
versa. You will go and choose what you like and the other person will choose what
he or she prefers. You cannot say their choice is bad and your choice is better.
Everybody is different and has tendencies developed over many years of action,
reaction and association. Everyone will choose what they like. The world is like a
big buffet, and you choose what you want to eat.

Imagine if a pig were to be invited to eat at the buffet here, with all these dishes
that have been prepared with such perfection and such taste. The pig would not
taste any of the dishes; it likes humans’ leftovers and shuns what you accept as
tasty. It is the design of nature for the pig to like certain things and dislike others.

You have to decide who you are. If your nature is divine and full of sattvic qualities,
you will like things that are sattvic. If your nature is rajasic, you will like things that
are rajasic. If your nature is tamasic, you will like things that are tamasic.
What you are within is what you manifest externally. Your whole task is to change
from one to the other. From tamasic, which is full of animal qualities, to rajasic, with
its human qualities of action and, from the human quality of action, you must go to
sattvic, with its divine qualities of surrender.

From animal tendencies to human tendencies, and from human to divine – that is
how it progresses. So, if some of you like certain things, it is because that it is what
your inner character is; what you are within you reflect without.

Your tastes are dependent upon what you have been doing until now. An Indian man
may not like Singaporean food; a Singaporean may not like Chinese food; a Chinese
person may not like Italian food; and an Italian may not like Indian food. You are
born in a certain situation and you grow up in a certain way. You tend to restrict all
your activities and your tastes to that situation, just like the newborn lion cub that
lived with sheep and became a sheep.

You have to change your tastes. You must learn what is good for you and, over a
period, you will start to enjoy it. When a child is born, it likes only milk. It does not
want to consume anything else but, as it grows, its mother starts feeding it with
other food, like rice. At first, the child spits out the rice, because it does not like the
taste but, as it grows, it develops a taste and ends up liking rice so much, that the
mother has to run after the child to get it to drink a cup of milk, for it does not want
milk anymore.
That is how you can change your associations. You can still enjoy the world, but
those aspects that are worth enjoying – those which will help you become pure and
which will help you reach towards your eternal truth. Then, you will not want
anything else in existence; somebody else may like it, but not you. You have to
develop your final taste by continuously training yourself to enjoy higher things and
give up lower things.

It is not easy to give up all desires at once, but lower desires can be replaced by
higher desires until you have only the highest desire of knowing your true self and
abiding in it.

Practice, practice, practice will help you train yourself, to improve your taste so that
you can still be in the world and yet not be of the world. You will enjoy what is good
in the world and experience no sorrow or regret. It is possible! Do not compare with
others, just think about your own spiritual growth.

उद्यमेन हि सिध्यन्ति कार्याणि न मनोरथैः।

udyamena hi sidhyanti kāryāṇi na manorathaiḥ।

Word by word meaning

कार्याणि kāryāṇi – Works
उद्यमेन udyamena – By effort
हि hi – Only
सिध्यन्ति sidhyanti – can be attained / accomplished
न na – Not
मनोरथैः manorathaiḥ – By one’s wishes
मृगाः mr̥ gāḥ – Animals
सुप्तस्य suptasya – of the Sleeping
सिंहस्य siṁhasya – Lion’s
मुखे mukhe – Into Mouth
न na – Never
हि hi – indeed
प्रविशन्ति praviśanti ¬– do enter
Meaning:
Works are done by effort only, not by wishes. Animals do not enter into the mouth
of a sleeping lion.

Explanation
Mere wishful thinking is of no use. Anything happens by one’s efforts only. The
lion is the king of the forest. But if it merely thinks wishfully that animals should
come and enter into its mouth, it will have to die of hunger. Only if it leaves its
cave and goes out chasing an animal, it can have food. Otherwise it will remain
hungry always. So it is clear one has to try.

Sanskrit: अनन्नासम् (Annanasam); Kannada: ಅನಾನಸು

Family: Bromeliaceae Juss (Bromeliad family)
Botanical name: Ananas comosus

Pineapple is one of the most popular tropical fruits worldwide, enjoyed fresh,
canned, and juiced. Its sweet and tangy flavor, as well as its versatility in culinary
applications, continue to make it a beloved fruit in many cultures. The pineapple is
indigenous to South America, where it has been cultivated for many centuries.
Archaeological evidence indicates Pineapple was cultivated by the Mayas and the
Aztecs and was a staple food of Native Americans. It is believed that the first
European to encounter the pineapple was Columbus, in Guadeloupe and the
Portuguese took the fruit from Brazil and introduced it into India by the year 1550.

Pineapple contains considerable amounts of bioactive compounds, dietary fiber,

minerals, and nutrients. Pineapple has been used in traditional and folk medicine
practices in different cultures for its potential health properties. Here are some
traditional uses and potential health benefits associated with pineapple:
• Digestive Health: Pineapple contains bromelain, a mixture of enzymes that may
aid digestion by breaking down proteins. In some traditional medicine systems,
pineapple or its juice is consumed after meals to aid in digestion.
• Anti-inflammatory Properties: Bromelain in pineapple has anti-inflammatory
properties. Some traditional practices use pineapple or its extracts to alleviate
symptoms of inflammatory conditions such as arthritis.
• Immune System Support: Vitamin C, present in pineapple, is known to support the
immune system. In traditional practices, consuming pineapple or its juice is
sometimes recommended during cold and flu season to boost immunity.
• Wound Healing: Bromelain is also believed to have properties that promote wound
healing. Some traditional practices involve applying pineapple or its juice topically to
minor wounds or cuts.
• Respiratory Health: Pineapple has been used traditionally in some cultures to
alleviate symptoms of respiratory conditions such as coughs and colds. This is likely
due to its vitamin C content and potential anti-inflammatory properties.
• Anti-Parasitic Properties: In some traditional medicine systems, pineapple has been
used as a natural remedy for parasitic infections. Bromelain is believed to have anti-
parasitic properties, although more research is needed to confirm its efficacy for this
purpose.
Caution: It's important to note that while pineapple has these potential health
benefits, it's not a replacement for medical treatment. If you're considering using
pineapple for medicinal purposes, it's best to consult with a healthcare
professional, especially if you have any underlying health conditions or are taking
medications. Additionally, allergic reactions to pineapple are possible, so
individuals with known allergies should avoid it or use it with caution.

Here is a simple and refreshing health drink recipe using pineapple:

Pineapple Ginger Turmeric Smoothie
Ingredients:
• 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
• 1 small piece of fresh ginger (about 1 inch), peeled and chopped
• 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric (or a small piece of fresh turmeric root, peeled)
• 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or coconut yogurt for a dairy-free option
• 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or coconut water
• 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
• Ice cubes (optional)
• Fresh mint leaves or a slice of lime for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
• Prepare Ingredients: Cut the pineapple into chunks, peel and chop the ginger, and
measure out the rest of the ingredients.
• Blend: In a blender, combine the pineapple chunks, chopped ginger, turmeric,
Greek yogurt, almond milk or coconut water, and honey or maple syrup if using. If
you prefer a colder smoothie, add a handful of ice cubes as well.
• Blend Until Smooth: Blend all the ingredients until smooth and well combined. If
the smoothie is too thick, you can add more almond milk or coconut water to reach
your desired consistency.
• Taste and Adjust: Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness or spiciness by
adding more honey or ginger if needed.
• Serve: Pour the smoothie into glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves or a slice
of lime if desired.
• Enjoy: Serve the pineapple ginger turmeric smoothie immediately and enjoy its
refreshing and healthful flavors!
This smoothie is not only delicious but also packed with nutrients from the
pineapple, ginger, and turmeric. Pineapple provides vitamin C, bromelain, and other
antioxidants, while ginger and turmeric offer anti-inflammatory and digestive
benefits. Plus, the addition of Greek yogurt or coconut yogurt adds protein and
probiotics for gut health. It's a perfect drink to enjoy as a snack or alongside a
healthy breakfast.
