1. Introduction
This chapter provides general information describing the DCS (Distributed Control System)
Fieldbus Module subsystem equipment.
The I/A Series DCS Fieldbus Modules for Honeywell TDC 2000 systems (or DCS Fieldbus
Module subsystem) provide a means of migrating control of loops from Honeywell TDC 2000
equipment to an I/A Series system. Honeywell equipment affected may include the following:
Migration to I/A Series control is effected by replacing the processor, control cards, and I/O point
cards in the Honeywell equipment with I/A Series DCS Fieldbus Module cards and Fieldbus Iso-
lators. All existing process I/O terminations and wiring are preserved. The newly installed DCS
Fieldbus Modules interchange process measurement and output signals, and digital input/output
signals, communicating directly with the I/A Series control system.
All process signals are thus fully integrated into the I/A Series system, allowing direct I/A Series
monitoring and control of the process. Operating in conjunction with the I/A Series control and
management software, the DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem provides advanced plant-wide con-
trol, display, history, alarming, and information management capabilities.
Connection between the newly installed DCS Fieldbus Modules and the I/A Series control pro-
cessor is via the I/A Series Fieldbus, which can be implemented in either a single or redundant
configuration. The DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem can exist as a single entity on the I/A Series
Fieldbus, can be combined with other DCS Fieldbus Module subsystems on the Fieldbus, or can
be mixed with I/A Series Fieldbus Modules (FBMs) and/or other Fieldbus-based process interface
subsystems.
Figure 1-1 shows implementation of typical DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem (for a Basic Con-
troller).
Major components that are common to all implementations of the DCS Fieldbus Module subsys-
tem are as follows. (See Appendix A “Hardware Specifications” for detailed functional
specifications.)
♦ DCS Fieldbus Modules – Operating in conjunction with the I/A Series control pro-
cessor, these modules replace the functions performed by the control cards in the
common card file assembly (CCFA) of the BC, EC, and MFC units, the point cards
1

in the point card file assemblies of the MFC, HLPIU, and LLPIU units, and the mul-
tiplexer card in the door of the LEPIU MUX box.
♦ Fieldbus Isolators – The Fieldbus Isolator (H2SFBI) provides electrical isolation
between the I/A Series Fieldbus and the newly installed DCS Fieldbus Modules. (Two
H2SFBIs are used in a redundant Fieldbus configuration.) Connection between the
H2SFBIs and the DCS Fieldbus Modules is via Invensys supplied local Fieldbus
cables and, in the case of the MFC, HLPIU, LLPIU, and LEPIU, the original I/O bus
cables and/or point card file backplanes. Also, in the case of the MFC, HLPIU,
LLPIU and LEPIU, local extension of the Fieldbus between nests is provided by
Invensys supplied Fieldbus Extender cards (FEML, FEMP, FEPH, FEPL, and
H2FBE1).
♦ Jumper cards (IC, OC1, OC2, and PWR1) – Serving as physical replacements for the
voltage regulator, A/D MUX, and OUTPUT cards in the CCFA, these cards, which
contain no active components, jumper (route) appropriate voltages and I/O signals to
the DCS Fieldbus Module cards.
In addition to these major components, various supporting hardware items (Fieldbus cables,
equipment labels, termination cable assemblies, and so forth) are also included.

HLPIU, LLPIU, and LEPIU. (Complete equipment installation instructions are provided in
Chapter 3 “Equipment Installation”.)
NOTE
In addition to the equipment rack modifications described in the following subsec-
tions, three major actions must be effected for complete implementation of the DCS
Fieldbus Module subsystem:
– System Configuration (refer to Chapter 4 “Configuration”)
– Integrated Control Configuration (refer to Chapter 4 “Configuration”)
– Fieldbus cable connections (refer to Chapter 3 “Equipment Installation”).
Multifunction Controller
The Multifunction Controller is modified by removing all cards from the CCFA and replacing
them with the following (see page 71 for instructions):
♦ Fieldbus Isolator(s) (H2SFBI)
♦ Up to four H2M17 DCS Fieldbus Modules
♦ IC, OC1, OC2, PWR1 jumper cards
♦ FEML Fieldbus Extender card.
In addition, all cards in the point card nest(s), and are replaced as follows:
♦ The PIXxx point cards are replaced, on a one-for-one basis, with H2Mxx DCS Field-
bus Modules.
♦ One FEMP Fieldbus Extender card is installed per point card nest.

B0193VL – Rev K 1. Introduction
Planning Ahead
Personnel who should be involved with the planning process include sales support personnel,
system engineers, software engineers, and process control engineers. For throughput and sizing
information tailored to your system, consult your Invensys engineering or sales
support representative.
There are three major areas of concern when planning a system:
♦ System Configuration
During system configuration, you select and define the hardware and software for the
system. The end product of this configuration is a diskette that defines the network
equipment packaging, documents the configuration, provides a list of material for the
Quotation System, and enables software installation. Prior to undertaking this config-
uration, you should determine the number and types of loops and blocks in the pro-
cess control scheme. Also, determine memory and throughput requirements based on
block definition, scan rates, and other block-related functions that can affect the num-
ber and selection of hardware items.
♦ Process Control Configuration
With the Integrated Control Configurator you define compounds, blocks (continu-
ous and sequential), and ladder logic. You lay out the schemes for your compounds
and blocks prior to actually performing a configuration on the system. You then use
the resulting information in conjunction with information on the System Configura-
tion worksheets to arrive at a final plan for hardware and software, and a final process
control strategy.

♦ Equipment Installation
Equipment installation does not require any special tools. However, it does require a
basic knowledge of I/A Series Nodebus and Fieldbus hardware concepts. This knowl-
edge can be attained by reading the DIN Rail Mounted Subsystem User's Guide
(B0400FA) and Hardware Descriptions document (B0193AE).
Terminology
This document uses certain terms specific to the DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem and the
I/A Series system. Understanding these terms is essential to understanding this document:
Control Processor This is any I/A Series module that affects process control via the I/A Series
Fieldbus. Examples are the Field Control Processor 280 (FCP280), Field
Control Processor 270 (FCP270), Control Processor 60 (CP60), and
Control Processor 40 (CP40). The Control Processor controls process
variables using algorithms contained in functional control blocks config-
ured by on-site process engineers to implement the desired control strate-
gies.
Fieldbus An optionally redundant serial bus conforming to the EIA standards’ gen-
eral requirements for RS-485. The Fieldbus carries data communications
on a twinaxial cable between the I/A Series input/output modules on the
Fieldbus (I/A Series Fieldbus Modules and DCS Fieldbus Modules, for
example), and their associated control processors.
Letterbug In the I/A Series system, a plastic character which, when interlocked with
similar plastic characters, forms a 6-character module identifier. Letters
printed on the front are read visually by the user; pin connectors at the
back are read electrically by the processor.
TCA The termination cable assembly provides a means of attaching the Field-
bus to an I/A Series control processor (at one end) and to the Fieldbus Iso-
lator(s) at the other end.

2. Product Application
This chapter describes how the DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem equipment is applied to the
various types of Honeywell TDC 2000 units.
The DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem is used in conjunction with the following Honeywell TDC
2000 units:
♦ Basic Controller (BC)
♦ Extended Controller (EC)
♦ Multifunction Controller (MFC)
♦ High Level Process Interface Unit (HLPIU)
♦ Low Level Process Interface Unit (LLPIU)
♦ Low Energy Process Interface Unit (LEPIU).
The DCS Fieldbus Modules plug directly into existing Honeywell card files (nests) in place of
Honeywell processor modules and I/O cards. Process measurement and output signals are passed
to/from an I/A Series Control Processor to provide I/A Series control in place of the Honeywell
controllers. In an enclosure, there are four point card file assemblies with associated I/O termina-
tion panels. The card file assembly, housing up to eight DCS Fieldbus Modules, is at the front of
the enclosure, while termination panels (with one terminal strip per DCS Fieldbus Module) are at
the rear of the enclosure.
The new DCS Fieldbus Modules are modified I/A Series Fieldbus Modules (FBMs) in a Honey-
well form factor. Addressing is accomplished by standard I/A Series letterbugs.
NOTE
I/A Series software v4.3 or later is required.
For the Control Processor 60, I/A Series software v6.3.2 and v6.5 and higher are
required for migration support. I/A Series software v6.4 does not include this sup-
port for the CP60. However, v6.4 supports all other competitive migration prod-
ucts. For the FCP270 and ZCP270, I/A Series software v8.1.1 (or higher) is
required. For the FCP280, I/A Series software v9.0 (or higher) is required.

B0193VL – Rev K 2. Product Application
Basic Controller
The Honeywell Basic Controller is structured to support up to eight analog process control loops
in the common card file assembly (CCFA). Process inputs and outputs are connected to the
CCFA from the I/O termination panel.
Figure 2-1 illustrates the DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem implementation as it applies to the
Basic Controller, and Table 2-1 lists the components comprising the Basic Controller Migration
Kit. Table 2-2 shows the correlation between the H2M17s and associated control loops, and
Figure B-9 (on page 153) shows how the I/O points relate to the H2M17s.
Installation of the migration kit is described under “Basic Controller Migration Kit Installation”
on page 64. The I/O termination panel, CCFA (logic nest), equipment rack, and power system
are reused, and all I/O wiring remains connected to the I/O termination panel. The CCFA pro-
cessor cards are removed and replaced with up to four H2M17 DCS Fieldbus Modules, an

Multifunction Controller
The Honeywell MFC is structured to support up to eight interactive process control loops and
two point card files, each with up to eight point cards, to control continuous and discontinuous
processes. The MFC performs four main control functions: sequence control, modulating con-
trol, logic control, and I/O monitoring.
Figure 2-4 illustrates the DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem as it applies to the Multifunction Con-
troller, and Table 2-4 lists the components comprising the Multifunction Controller Migration
Kit. Table 2-2 (on page 10) shows the correlation between the H2M17s and associated control
loops. Correlation between the I/O points and all H2Mxx cards (including the H2M17s) is
shown in Appendix B “I/O Connections”.
Installation of the migration kit is described under “Multifunction Controller Migration Kit
Installation” on page 71. Inputs and outputs are directed to the CCFA from its associated
I/O termination panel, and to the point card assemblies from their associated I/O termination
panels. The termination panels, CCFA, equipment rack, and power system are reused, and all
I/O wiring remains connected to the termination panels. The CCFA processor cards are removed
and replaced with up to four H2M17 DCS Fieldbus Modules, an H2SFBI Fieldbus Isolator,
input and output connection cards (IC, OC1, and OC2), a power jumper card (PWR1), and a
Fieldbus Extender card (FEML). The point cards are removed from each point card nest and
replaced with DCS Fieldbus Modules (H2Mxx) and a Fieldbus Extender card (FEMP).

NOTE
One H2J02x DCS Fieldbus Module cold junction reference (CJR) signal condition-
ing card is required per LLPIU (see Table 2-6 on page 26). This card is located in
Point Card File 1, Slot 1 (see Figure 2-9). As shown in Figure 2-8, the I/A Series
Integrated Control Software uses this RTD reference for cold junction reference
compensation for all thermocouple input DCS Fieldbus Modules (up to 31) in the
LLPIU equipment rack. The first four channels of the H2J02x DCS Fieldbus Mod-
ule replace the PXSJ11 reference signal conditioning card. Like the PXSJ11, the
first four channels of the H2J02x have only one active I/O connection. Refer to
Figure B-13 on page 156 for wiring information.

The CCFA is located in a standard 19-inch or 24-inch rack and can be mounted with other
LLPIU/LEPIU CCFA types. The CCFA communicates with the MUX boxes via a dedicated field
cable, up to 5000 feet in length.
Figure 2-10 illustrates the DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem as it applies to the LEPIU, and
Table 2-7 through Table 2-9 list the components comprising the LEPIU migration kits. (Three
migration kits are available, one for upgrading the CCFA, one for upgrading the MUX box for
thermocouple signal inputs, and one for upgrading the MUX box for RTD signal inputs.) Corre-
lation between the I/O points and all H2Mxx cards is shown in Appendix B “I/O Connections”.
Installation of the migration kit is described under “LEPIU Migration Kit Installation” on
page 92.When the equipment is upgraded by implementing the LEPIU migration kit, the com-
mon card file assembly (CCFA), equipment rack, MUX box, and power system are reused, and all
I/O wiring remains connected to the termination panel in the MUX box. All processor cards are
removed from the CCFA and replaced with a pair of redundant Fieldbus Isolators (H2SFBIs) a
jumper card (PWR1), and a Fieldbus extender card (H2FBE1). The existing MUX door panel
assembly is removed from MUX box cover and replaced with an LEPIU thermocouple or RTD
panel assembly, an H3SFBI communications card, and H2M02E or H2M03 DCS Fieldbus
Modules. The Fieldbus Isolators connect to the DCS Fieldbus Modules through the H2FBE1
Fieldbus Extender card and existing cabling.

3. Equipment Installation
This chapter provides procedures for installing the DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem equipment.
Pre-Installation Requirements
Before starting the actual equipment installation (as described in the following subsections) per-
form the following:
1. Perform the system configuration for the new (soon to be installed) DCS Fieldbus
Module subsystem (refer to Chapter 4 “Configuration”).
2. Perform the integrated control configuration for the new (soon to be installed) DCS
Fieldbus Module subsystem (refer to “Integrated Control Configuration” on
page 109).
3. Determine the module ID (letterbug) numbers that the DCS Fieldbus Modules will
contain. (Refer to the I/A Series configuration reports.)
4. Perform an orderly shutdown of the process associated with the equipment to be
modified, and remove ac power from the equipment rack(s) in question.
Fieldbus cable installation involves the use of TCAs and twinaxial cable to provide connection
between the I/A Series control processor and the H2SFBI(s). For an I/A Series Control Processor
40 based subsystem, three Fieldbus cabling configurations are possible:
♦ Non-fault-tolerant CP40 and non-redundant Fieldbus (Figure 3-1)
♦ Non-fault-tolerant CP40 and redundant Fieldbus (Figure 3-2)
♦ Fault-tolerant CP40 and redundant Fieldbus (Figure 3-3).
To make the Fieldbus cable connections at the I/A Series CP40, refer to Figure 3-1, Figure 3-2
(on page 37), or Figure 3-3 (on page 38), as appropriate for your configuration, and proceed as
follows:
1. Referring to Figure 3-4 (page 39), assemble the termination block(s) associated with
the CP TCAs, snap them onto the mounting rail(s) (DIN rails) in the I/A Series rack,
and connect the earth wire(s).
2. Connect the TCA cable(s) to the CP(s).
3. Connect the Fieldbus cable(s) to the TCA(s) as shown in Figure 3-1, Figure 3-2, or
Figure 3-3.
35
B0193VL – Rev K 3. Equipment Installation
4. If not already in place, add the termination resistor (supplied with each TCA) as
shown in Figure 3-1, Figure 3-2, or Figure 3-3 (page 38).

Notes:
1 A configuration using DCM10Ef converters (P0926DP) is similar, but with the Ethernet Trunk fiber optic
cables connecting to the ST-type connectors on the units.
2 Terminating risistors, included with the DCM10E/DCM10Ef converters and the corresponding TCAs, are
used only if these devices exist at the ends of the Fieldbus run.
3 If the TCAs are the last TCAs in the Fieldbus run, the Fieldbus shields must be connected to
the earth bus bar in the equipment rack (which, in turn, must be connected to solid earth ground).
Check to ensure that these connections are in place.

NOTE
The Fieldbus splitter (RH928CV) is used instead of the two legacy TCAs
(P0903VY) and the Extended Fieldbus Splitter/Terminator (P0926LC), which are
used with legacy control processors for their twinaxial cabling.
Before starting this procedure, plan which Fieldbus port on the FCP280 baseplate you will
connect the TCA cable to. The FCP280 considers the DCS Fieldbus Modules as 100 Series
FBMs (see Table 4-1 on page 108), so it must connect to the H2SFBI Fieldbus Isolators from a
Fieldbus port on the FCP280 baseplate which is dedicated to 268 Kbps HDLC fieldbus connec-
tions. Each fieldbus port on the FCP280 baseplate may connect to either 100 Series or 200 Series
modules exclusively - not both.
You can mount the FCP280 module(s) on either the two-position, vertical DIN rail mounted
baseplate (RH924YF) or the two-position, horizontal DIN rail mounted baseplate (RH924YL).
For FCP280 baseplate mounting procedures, refer to DIN Rail Mounted Subsystem User's Guide
(B0400FA). For FCP280 installation procedures, refer to Field Control Processor 280 (FCP280)
User’s Guide (B0700FW).
To connect an FCP280 baseplate to the H2SFBI Fieldbus Isolator TCAs:
1. Referring to Figure 3-7 on page 44, assemble the termination blocks on the termina-
tion cable assembly end of the RH928CV splitter (RH928CV). Snap them onto the
mounting rails (DIN rails) in the enclosure, and connect the ground wires. (For future
reference, Figure 3-8 illustrates how to remove the TCA termination blocks.)
NOTE
If you intend to use an FBI200 to extend the twinaxial cabling to the H2SFBI Field-
bus Isolator TCA from the FCP280 baseplate, refer to DIN Rail Mounted Subsystem
User's Guide (B0400FA) for site planning and installation instructions.
2. Connect the splitter (RH928CV) to the appropriate port on the FCP280 baseplate.
The splitter includes both a plug for the Fieldbus port and the TCA termination block
which you installed in the previous step (see Figure 3-6). Refer to “Fieldbus Splitter
(RH928CV)” in DIN Rail Mounted FBM Subsystem User’s Guide (B0400FA) for
instructions on how to make this connection.
If you are upgrading a legacy control processor with an FCP280 and the site has two
P0903VY TCAs on it, be sure to remove the P0903VY TCA termination blocks
before installing the splitter, as explained in Figure 3-8.
Finish making the cable connection(s) to the fieldbus splitter/terminator or fieldbus
splitter as shown in Figure 3-6.
3. Make the fieldbus cable connections between termination cable assemblies (see
Figure 3-9).
4. Terminate the HDLC fieldbus according to the following rules:
♦ Terminating resistors are used only at the H2SFBI Fieldbus Isolator TCA end of
the bus. Add the terminating resistors (supplied with the termination cable assem-
blies) to the P0903VY termination cable assemblies as shown in Figure 3-6.
41
B0193VL – Rev K 3. Equipment Installation
♦ To terminate Fieldbus port 1 in the FCP280 baseplate end of the HDLC fieldbus
(if needed), set both the termination DIP switches on the FCP280 baseplate to
“ON”, as described in “Setting Termination Switches for FCP280 Baseplates” in
Field Control Processor 280 (FCP280) User’s Guide (B0700FW).
Fieldbus ports 2-4 in the FCP280 baseplate are terminated internally and do not
require any external hardware for termination. No action is needed to terminate
the FCP280 baseplate end of the HDLC fieldbus for Fieldbus ports 2-4.
♦ The Fieldbus can be extended in two directions from the FCP280. (Refer to
Figure 3-10 on page 46.)
5. Connect an insulated 14 AWG green wire between connection point 3 (shield) on the
last Fieldbus Isolator termination cable assembly (or assemblies) and the earth bus in
the enclosure. For I/A Series system earthing requirements, refer to Power, Earthing
(Grounding), EMC and CE Compliance (B0700AU).

Notes:
1. For cable strain relief, it is recommended that the Fieldbus cable(s) be routed over the strain
relief bracket and secured using nylon cables ties.
2. TCAs can be daisy chained as indicated by the dashed cable lines, but terminating resistors
(110 ohms) must be installed on the Fieldbus Isolator TCA end of the fieldbus (not the FCP280
end). For the FCP280 end of the fieldbus, Fieldbus ports 2-4 are auto-terminated internally.
Fieldbus port 1 is terminated with the DIP switches on the FCP280’s baseplate as described in
“Setting Termination Switches for FCP280 Baseplates” in Field Control Processor 280 (FCP280)
User’s Guide (B0700FW).
3. Wire colors shown (BK and W) are for reference purposes only.
4. Earth (ground) the surge protection network contained within the TCAs by attaching the green
earth wire to a screw on the DIN rail connected to system earth. For more information on earth-
ing, refer to Power, Earthing (Grounding), EMC and CE Compliance (B0700AU). Splitter
(RH928CV) has only one green earth wire.
5. The shield of the twinaxial cable (terminal 3) should be earthed at the farthest end from the
FCP280 baseplate. The fieldbus shield must be earthed at one end only. (See text for
earthing instructions.)

Connections between a redundant ZCP270 to the H2SFBI Fieldbus Isolators requires the follow-
ing to facilitate communications:
♦ ZCP270 connects to a redundant pair of DIN rail mounted Fieldbus Communica-
tions Module 100Es (FCM100Es) via fiber optic cabling, either directly with standard
LC to LC cables or indirectly via The Mesh control network
♦ The FCM100Es connect to the H2SFBI Fieldbus Isolators.
Cabling a FCM100E baseplate to the H2SFBI Fieldbus Isolators consists of extending the remote
268 Kbps fieldbus from the isolators (see Figure 3-19). This extension, used between enclosures,
52
3. Equipment Installation B0193VL – Rev K
involves the use of termination cable assemblies (TCAs) to provide cable connections between pri-
mary and extended fieldbus segments, for a maximum fieldbus length of 1830 m (6000 ft). If the
fieldbus is non-redundant, only one TCA is connected to the fieldbus splitter/terminator
(P0926LC) which is shown in Figure 3-20. TCA part number P0903VY includes a strain relief
bracket, labels for bus A and B, and a 110 ohm terminating resistor (E0157CZ) which should be
installed across the F+ and F- terminals at the end of the Fieldbus. You must install one of the
labels on the TCA (see Figure 3-19 for label orientation)
You can mount the FCM100E module(s) on either the two-position, vertical DIN rail mounted
baseplate (P0926KE) or the two-position, horizontal DIN rail mounted baseplate (P0926KH).
For FCM100E installation procedures, refer to Z-Module Control Processor 270 (ZCP270) User’s
Guide (B0700AN) and DIN Rail Mounted Subsystem User's Guide (B0400FA).
! WARNING
Prior to connecting the direct connect cables to the FCM100E, install the letterbug
into the ZCP270. Refer to the I/A Series Letterbug Configurator (B0700AY).

3. Equipment Installation B0193VL – Rev K
1. Referring to Figure 3-20, assemble the termination blocks associated with the termi-
nation cable assemblies (P0903VY) for the FCM100E Modular Baseplate, snap them
onto the mounting rails (DIN rails) in the enclosure, and connect the ground wires.
(For future reference, Figure 3-21 illustrates how to remove the TCA termination
blocks.)
2. Connect the fieldbus splitter/terminator (P0926LC) to the “Fieldbus and Time
Strobe” connector on the FCM100E baseplate (see Figure 3-19).
3. Make the cable connection(s) to the fieldbus splitter/terminator as shown in
Figure 3-20.
4. Make the fieldbus cable connections between termination cable assemblies (see
Figure 3-22).
5. Add the terminating resistors (supplied with the termination cable assemblies) accord-
ing to the following rules:
♦ Terminating resistors are used only at the ends of the bus.
♦ The Fieldbus can be extended in two directions from the FCM100E. (Refer to
Figure 3-24.)
6. Connect an insulated 14 AWG green wire between connection point 3 (shield) on the
last Fieldbus Isolator termination cable assembly (or assemblies) and the earth bus in

3. Equipment Installation B0193VL – Rev K
NOTE
1. The following procedure assumes that the equipment configuration in question
involves a single common card file assembly (CCFA); that is, a non-extended DCS
Fieldbus Module subsystem configuration is employed. If an extended configura-
tion is to be employed (in which a single pair of H2SFBI Fieldbus Isolators services
multiple CCFAs), proceed as follows:
- Refer to “Optional Local Fieldbus Extension, MFC” on page 18 for general
information on local Fieldbus extension.
- Repeat, as necessary, various steps of this procedure for the multiple
CCFAs (and added point card file assemblies) in the extended local Fieldbus
configuration.
2. If the MFC equipment rack power supply is to be replaced, refer to Appendix D
“Power Supply Replacement”.
This procedure may involve the removal of resistor network modules from the common card file
assembly (Step 2 below) in the event that the resistors are soldered not plugged in. If you plan to
perform this step, you will require the following tools:
♦ Phillips #1 extended shaft screwdriver (Xcelite® XST-1010 or equivalent)
♦ Phillips #2 extended shaft screwdriver (Xcelite XST-1020 or equivalent)
♦ Phillips #1 standard shaft screwdriver (Xcelite XST-1010 or equivalent)
♦ Stanley® slot screwdriver (66-166 5/16X6” SCREWDRIVER 66-166 or equivalent)
♦ Lindstrom 8247 CUTTER FLUSH (90 degrees or equivalent)
♦ Lindstrom 8147 tapered flush cut precision cutters 4-3/8” long with 25/64” jaw,
.008” to .049” capacity or equivalent
♦ Xcelite NN777-6 electronic pliers, long needle nose, serrated (part 150-026 or
equivalent)
To install the Multifunction Controller Migration Kit (P0913SA), proceed as follows:
1. Remove all circuit cards from the common card file assembly. (Do not remove circuit
cards from the point card file assemblies at this time.) Set aside the IBI cables (con-
necting between the IBC and IBI circuit cards) for later use.
2. If the six resistor network modules from the CCFA card cage are soldered not plugged
in, remove these modules using the tools mentioned above. The safest and more reli-
able method for doing this is to remove the eight screws from the backplane, three
from the switch assembly on the right side, and two screws on the left side as
described below.
71
B0193VL – Rev K 3. Equipment Installation
Figure 3-32 shows an example of the CCFA on the top rack of an enclosure.
However, the CCFA could also reside in other locations as well.
a. First, if two slot-head screws are present on the left wall of the card cage, which
hold the cage to a support in the front of the enclosure, remove these screws. See
Figure 3-33.

shown in the middle of the inside area of the card cage Figure 3-33. Two are
shown on the right ride of the enclosure in Figure 3-34. The remaining two screws
are on the other side the card cage, not shown in these figures. These screws
should come out easily, but take care to remove them after loosening them with a
pair of needle nose pliers or magnetic pickup.
74
3. Equipment Installation B0193VL – Rev K
d. Remove the remaining two extra long screws with retaining grommets that are
next to the left side of the metal shield, shown in Figure 3-33 on page 73. Be
aware that they may be difficult to remove. Their grommets may be brittle once
removed and may break.
e. After all the screws are removed, remove the card cage. There should not be any
resistance when removing it. If the grommets cause any friction during the
removal process, lightly pry the right hand side of the card cage with a straight
blade screwdriver to overcome the friction, while taking care not to let the screw-
driver touch any etching on the backplane.
f. After the card cage is removed, the six resistor network modules are fully accessi-
ble. They are shown in the card cage in Figure 3-35 on page 78. Remove the resis-
tor network modules by cutting their legs from the card cage.
g. After they are removed, put the card cage back in the enclosure, following in the
reverse order of the substeps above.
3. Install the migration kit label, P0903AN, in the approximate position shown in
Figure 3-35 on page 78.
4. Using the stick-on card locator label (B0189GR) provided, cover the original labeling
along the top of the CCFA (see Figure 3-35 on page 78).
5. Using the stick-on information labels (B0189HT) provided, cover the original label-
ing along the bottom of the CCFA and along the bottom of each Point Card File
Assembly (see Figure 3-35 on page 78).
6. Referring to “Module Identifier (Letterbug) Installation” on page 103, install a mod-
ule identifier (letterbug set) on each H2M17 and H2Mxx card in the migration kit.
7. On each H2M17 card, position the jumper module (see Figure 3-27) to correspond
to the control loops that are to be used. Refer to Table 2-2 (on page 10) for general
information. For detailed information on how the control loops and associated
I/O points correspond to the H2M17s (and how the I/O points correspond to all
other H2Mxx cards), refer to Appendix B “I/O Connections”.
8. Using Figure 3-35 on page 78 as a guide, install the PWR1, H2SFBI, H2M17, IC,
OC1, OC2, and FEML cards in the CCFA.
9. In the point card file assemblies, replace the IBI cards with FEMP cards.
10. Using Figure 3-35 and Table 3-2on page 76 as a guide, replace all PXI/PXO circuit
cards in the point card file assemblies with corresponding H2Mxx cards. Observe the
following CAUTION and NOTES:
! CAUTION
Because the I/O points are wired to the individual point card file slots, care must be
taken to ensure that the PXI/PXO cards are replaced one-for-one with the corre-
sponding H2Mxx cards (see Table 3-3).
75
B0193VL – Rev K 3. Equipment Installation
NOTE
1. For detailed information on the I/O connection points and how they correlate
with the H2Mxx cards, refer to Appendix B “I/O Connections”.
2. If an H2M07 card is to be installed, it may require a jumper change for selecting
internal/external powering of its field contact circuits. Refer to Figure B-6 on
page 151 for jumper positioning information.
11. Attach the local Fieldbus cable (P0913RL) to the H2SFBI, H2M17, and FEML
cards, as shown in Figure 3-35. (Note that, between the two H2SFBI cards, the local
Fieldbus cable must be twisted 180°.) Using cable ties, tie back any unused local Field-
bus connectors and loose cable.
12. If this installation is to employ an extended local Fieldbus configuration, refer to
Figure 2-5 (on page 19) for general cabling information, and to Figure 3-28 (on
page 67) for information on making the cable-to-cable connections.
13. Using Figure 3-35 and Figure 3-36 as a guide, connect the IBI cables (set aside in
Step 1) between the FEML card (in the CCFA) and the FEMP cards (in the point
card file assemblies).
14. Connect the TCA cables to the H2SFBI Isolator(s) as shown in Figure 3-35 and
Figure 3-37. Note that, in the redundant Fieldbus configuration, the cable connec-
tions are interchangeable; either TCA cable can be connected to either Fieldbus Isola-
tor without affecting system operation.
15. Install the general information (“Plugged In”) labels (P0918EU) on the inside of the
rack’s front and rear doors. Install the labels directly below any existing labels or
equipment name plate. The original descriptive name plate(s) should be removed to
avoid maintenance confusion. If no name plates exist, place the labels at about eye
level.
16. Go to “Final Installation Operations” on page 104.
! CAUTION
Because the I/O points are wired to the individual point card file slots, care must be
taken to ensure that the PXI/PXO cards are replaced one-for-one with the corre-
sponding H2Mxx cards (see Table 3-2).

3. Equipment Installation B0193VL – Rev K
NOTE
1. The following procedure assumes that the equipment configuration in question
involves a single common card file assembly (CCFA); that is, a nonextended DCS
Fieldbus Module subsystem configuration is employed. If an extended configura-
tion is to be employed (in which a single pair of H2SFBI Fieldbus Isolators services
multiple CCFAs), proceed as follows:
- Refer to “Optional Local Fieldbus Extension, LEPIU” on page 31 for general
information on local Fieldbus extension.
- Repeat, as necessary, various steps of the following procedures for the multiple
CCFAs in the extended local Fieldbus configuration.
2. If the power supply that powers the LEPIU CCFA is to be replaced, refer to
Appendix D “Power Supply Replacement”.
The following three procedures describe how to install the three types of migration kits,
P0915XQ (for the CCFA), P0915XR (thermocouple, for the MUX box), and P0915XS (RTD,
for the MUX box).
To install LEPIU Migration Kit P0915XQ, proceed as follows:
1. Remove all circuit cards from the common card file assembly (CCFA).
2. Remove the six resistor network modules from the CCFA (see Figure 3-48 on
page 96).
3. Install the migration kit label, P0903AN, in the approximate position shown in
Figure 3-48.
4. Using the stick-on card locator label (P0189LJ) provided, cover the original labeling
along the top of the CCFA (see Figure 3-48).
5. Using the stick-on information label (B0189HT) provided, cover the original labeling
along the bottom of the CCFA (see Figure 3-48).
6. Using Figure 3-48 as a guide, install the PWR1, H2SFBI, and H2FBE1 DCS Field-
bus Module subsystem circuit cards in the CCFA nest.
7. Attach the local Fieldbus cable (P0913RM) to the H2SFBI and H2FBE1 cards, as
shown in Figure 3-48. (Note that, between the two H2SFBI cards, the local Fieldbus
cable must be twisted 180°.) Using cable ties, tie back any unused local Fieldbus con-
nectors and loose cable.
8. Refer to “LEPIU MUX Box Powering” on page 101 and provide powering for the
associated MUX boxes in accordance with your equipment configuration.
9. Referring to Figure 3-47, install A 110 ohm terminating resistor (Invensys Part Num-
ber E0157EZ) on the CCFA terminal board, and on TB2 in the last MUX box in the
signal chain. Note that the original signal cabling (interconnecting the CCFA and
MUX boxes) remains in place.

With the new migration equipment in place, the MUX door swing will be restricted
slightly. Care must be exercised when opening the MUX box door, to avoid any
undue strain on the three ribbon cables.
7. As shown in Figure 3-49, lightly secure the round cable with a nylon cable tie to keep
it from straining over the mini-backplane circuit board.
NOTE
Refer to Appendix C “DCS Fieldbus Module Control Schemes” for specific infor-
mation on ECB configuration for the H2M02E module (specifically, refer to
Figure C-4). The BUSWDS parameter must be set to 1, to cause the H2M02E

3. Equipment Installation B0193VL – Rev K
! CAUTION
Migration LEPIU installation does not support power supply line runs through
intrinsically safe areas. Power for the MUX boxes may be provided from either the
CCFA 24 V power terminals or from additional 24 V supplies installed locally to
the MUX boxes.
The design principal applied here is to maintain at least 20 volts at the most remote MUX box.
The numbers used in the table above assume the following: Each MUX box draws 700 mA; the
wire size is 14 AWG or larger; and the associated CCFA power supply can maintain 24 volts.
To power the associated MUX boxes from the CCFA 24 V power terminals:
1. Referring to Figure 3-52, install jumper cable P0918HH as shown.
2. Figure 3-52 shows the general power connection scheme (MUX boxes powered from
the CCFA). Referring to Figure 3-52, remove the ac reference cabling (the two AC
REF cables and the SHIELD cable) from the CCFA terminal board.

Power Switch-On
Power to the equipment rack (BC, EC, MFC, HLPIU, LLPIU, or LEPIU) may be switched on
after all associated equipment has been installed. The DCS Fieldbus Modules and
H2SFBI/H3SFBI modules have status indicators that report operating conditions (see “LED
Indicators” on page 125).
When power is first applied, the DCS Fieldbus Module undergoes a power-on self-diagnostic test
that tests its operating status. (The H2SFBI/H3SFBI has no self-diagnostics, but LEDs indicate
the run/fail status and any local/remote Fieldbus activity.) When power is applied, the LED indi-
cators on the DCS Fieldbus Modules and H2SFBI/H3SFBI modules should light as described in
Chapter 6 “Maintenance”. If normal run conditions are not indicated following power switch-on,
refer to Chapter 6 “Maintenance” on page 125 for corrective action.
NOTE
For details on performing these operations in the System Manager, refer to System
Manager (B0750AP).

4. Configuration
This chapter provides system configuration information (System Definition) and control
configuring information (Integrated Control Configuration).
In general, “configuration” means specifying, to the I/A Series system software, the types of hard-
ware and software modules that comprise the newly added DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem, and
the control blocks that will be used in conjunction with it. Prior to performing configuration pro-
cedures, you must develop loop drawings to determine the control scheme, and a detailed equip-
ment plan that identifies all the equipment required to control the process.
System Configuration
NOTE
1. To minimize interruption of the process, it is advisable to perform System Con-
figuration (or System Definition) prior to installing the DCS Fieldbus Module sub-
system equipment, as described in Chapter 3 “Equipment Installation”.
2. If the host I/A Series system is on-line (currently controlling the process), it may
be desirable to perform Integrated Control Configuration online, prior to updating
the System Configuration. Using this method, process control using the DCS Field-
bus Module subsystem equipment can commence immediately (following equip-
ment installation), with the System Configuration update being deferred until a
more convenient time.
To perform Integrated Control Configuration on-line, refer to “On-line Integrated
Control Configuration” on page 114.
System Configuration (or System Definition) is the process of selecting and identifying the hard-
ware and software for a particular I/A Series system. It is initially performed prior to installation of
the system equipment, and typically it is later updated with any hardware/software system
changes. Reports produced by System Configuration (or System Definition) define the network,
define the overall packaging of the system, and provide information that may be used in conjunc-
tion with equipment installation and system quotation. The System Configuration database can
be updated at any time to reflect changes made to the initial hardware layout.
107
B0193VL – Rev K 4. Configuration
NOTE
I/A Series software treats each DCS Fieldbus Module as an equivalent I/A Series
FBM (see Table 4-1, below). As such, the System Management display software
portrays the DCS Fieldbus Modules as equivalent I/A Series FBMs. In order to
distinguish the DCS Fieldbus Modules from other FBMs, it may be desirable to
include a specific prefix (such as H2 for Honeywell TDC 2000) in the six-character
letterbug set for each DCS Fieldbus Module.
108
4. Configuration B0193VL – Rev K
NOTE
For a complete list of equivalent FBMs, refer to “Honeywell TDC2000 Migration
Cards” in Control Processor 270 (CP270) and Field Control Processor 280 (CP280) Inte-
grated Control Software Concepts (B0700AG).
When System Configuration (or System Definition) is completed, perform one of the following
operations:
♦ If this is a new (as opposed to existing) I/A Series system, install the system software
(refer to the release notes shipped with the I/A Series software).
♦ If this is an existing (previously configured) I/A Series system, specify to the currently
installed system software that hardware items have been added to the system (refer to
the release notes shipped with the I/A Series software).

NOTE
This section presents integrated control configuration information that is specific to
the DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem. For more comprehensive information regard-
ing integrated control configuration, refer to the Foxboro Control Software Deploy-
ment Guide (B0750BA), I/A Series Configuration Component (IACC) User's Guide
(B0700FE) and Integrated Control Configurator (B0193AV) documents.
The FCS Configuration Tools, IACC and Integrated Control Configurator (accessed through the
process engineer’s environment at an I/A Series station) applications allow you to configure con-
trol blocks relating, in this case, to the DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem equipment. The general
procedure is to create a compound name under which the blocks will be created and run, and
then create and integrate the desired control blocks.
Using the control configurator, you create an Equipment Control Block (ECB) for each DCS
Fieldbus Module in the DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem. The ECB serves as a “holding place”
for the device’s software data. You then go on to configure the necessary control blocks and com-
pounds for the desired control scheme.
The control configurator lets you modify configuration data for on-line stations (for example, a
CP) or off-line library volumes. (A library volume is a “dummy” configuration which may be
110
4. Configuration B0193VL – Rev K
loaded into the CP when creation and/or editing are completed.) As a compound/block editor,
the Control Configurator provides compound/block-building templates along with a full range of
editing functions.
Control configuration for the DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem is divided into two separate pro-
cedures:
♦ “Off-line Integrated Control Configuration” on page 112 (directly following) is
intended for use when a new system is being configured – typically, when the DCS
Fieldbus Module subsystem is being included in new (overall) system configuration.
♦ “On-line Integrated Control Configuration” on page 114 is intended for use for when
a previous I/A Series configuration is being updated to include the DCS Fieldbus
Module subsystem.
NOTE
As indicated in a note on page 107, if the host I/A Series system is on-line (currently
controlling the process), it may be desirable to perform Integrated Control Config-
uration on-line, prior to updating the System Configuration. If this is the case, per-
form the procedure under “On-line Integrated Control Configuration” on
page 114.
Compound Operation
The compound processor task executes all compounds built during the configuration process.
Based on the phase and period, the compound processor determines whether a compound is to be
processed and, if so, initiates block processing. The period table for the DCS Fieldbus Module
subsystem is as follows:
Period Frequency
0 0.1 second
1 0.5 second
2 1 second
3 2 seconds
4 10 seconds
5 30 seconds
6 1 minute
7 10 minutes

B0193VL – Rev K 4. Configuration
NOTE
1. This procedure assumes that System Configuration has been performed. See
“System Configuration” on page 107.
2. This procedure is intended for use with an I/A Series system having Version 4.0
or higher software. If your system has software of a previous version, refer to the
appropriate version of the I/A Series Integrated Control Configurator (B0193AV) doc-
ument, and configure the DCS Fieldbus Modules as you would equivalent I/A Series
FBMs, as listed in Table 4-1 (on page 108). Use the ECB parameters and block
parameter settings shown in Appendix C “DCS Fieldbus Module Control Schemes”.
1. Using the System Management displays (accessible at an I/A Series workstation), boot
up the CP to which the DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem equipment will be attached.
This creates two compounds:
♦ Station compound (CPLBUG_STA)1 containing the station block
(CPLBUG_STA:STATION)1
♦ ECB compound (cplbug_ECB)1 containing the primary ECB
(CPLBUG_ECB:PRIMARY_ECB)1.
2. Open the Control Configurator and access the Control Processor (CP) in question.
3. Use the Control Configurator’s Fix All function to create ECB(s) for the DCS
Fieldbus Modules added previously to the system configuration via the System Con-
figurator (or System Definition).
4. If required, edit the H2Mxx ECB(s) if the default parameters provided are not satis-
factory. (See NOTE immediately following this step.) As an example, Figure 4-2
shows a typical editing display for the H2M17 ECB. The HWTYPE and SWTYPE
ECB parameters for the various types of DCS Fieldbus Modules are shown in
Appendix C “DCS Fieldbus Module Control Schemes”. For information on other
ECB parameters, refer to the I/A Series Integrated Control Block Descriptions document
(B0193AX).
NOTE
For ready reference, ECB parameter information appears in a “show window” along
the right side of the ECB editing displays (see Figure 4-2). The show window is
accessed by selecting Show in the menu bar, and then selecting Legal FBM/ECB

Fail-Safe Operation
Fail-safe parameters in the controlling ECBs specify the outputs in the event of a break in com-
munication with the CP. All fail-safe operations are initiated by the DCS Fieldbus
Module.
Each time the DCS Fieldbus Module receives a write request, it resets a fail-safe timer for its ECB.
The DCS Fieldbus Module asserts a fail-safe condition for the ECB if it does not receive another
output command within a specified time. The fail-safe condition can be either of the following:
♦ Hold Current Value – Hold the value sent in the most recent output command from
the CP.
♦ Use Fallback Value – Use a value specified for the output (specified in the ECB).
The ECBs for output type DCS Fieldbus Modules include parameters for enabling and disabling
fail-safe and for setting a fail-safe delay for the outputs. These parameters are downloaded to the
DCS Fieldbus Module’s database from the CP each time the subsystem is initialized or reconfig-
ured, and each time the user executes a download command from the System Management dis-
play. If fail-safe is enabled for a specific output, the DCS Fieldbus Module asserts fail-safe actions.
When normal operation resumes, the current output values are read by the CP and stored in the
ECBs. These values in turn are used by the I/O blocks as the starting point for new output com-
mands.
Fail-Safe Functionality
What the DCS Fieldbus Module does during various failed conditions is dependent upon the
configuration of several fail-safe parameters as well as the type of failure. Two basic types of DCS
Fieldbus Module failures can occur: those that cause the DCS Fieldbus Module to fail (such as
DCS OFFLINE, DCS DOWNLOAD, or DCS EEPROM UPDATE), and those that cause loss
of communications (COMM FAIL).
118
4. Configuration B0193VL – Rev K
Fail-Safe Examples
The following examples are fail-safe operations for an analog type ECB with two outputs. The
operation is performed for the first output point, which is Point Number 1. An AOUT block is
used, and the output is driven at a value of 75% of full scale. The Fallback Value is configured to
be 25% of full scale (FSD01 = 16000). FSDLAY is set to 1000, which is equal to a delay time of
10 seconds.
Example 1: FSENAB = 0 and FSMMn = 0X00
a. Cause: Type 1 failure.
Result: Output immediately goes to 25%.
b. Cause: Type 2 failure.
Result: Output holds at 75%.
Example 2: FSENAB = 0 and FSMMn = 0X10
a. Cause: Type 1 failure.
Result: Output holds at 75%.
b. Cause: Type 2 failure.
Result: Output holds at 75%.
Example 3: FSENAB = 1 and FSMMn = 0X00
a. Cause: Type 1 failure.
Result: Output immediately goes to 25%.
b. Cause: Type 2 failure.
Result: Output holds at 75% for 10 seconds, then goes to 25%.
Example 4: FSENAB = 1 and FSMMn = 0X10
a. Cause: Type 1 failure.
Result: Output holds at 75%.
b. Cause: Type 2 failure
Result: Output holds at 75% for 10 seconds, then continues to hold at 75%.

5. Process Displays and System
Management Displays
This chapter provides information on the I/A Series process displays and System Management
displays and how they relate to the DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem.
Process Displays
The I/A Series system provides the following types of displays for performance of process
control operations:
♦ Select Screen Display (compound and block overview display)
♦ Group Displays
♦ User-Generated Displays
♦ Block Detail Displays
♦ Compound Detail Displays
♦ Station Displays
For information on how these displays are used, refer to System Manager (B0750AP), System
Management Displays (B0193JC), and Process Operations and Displays (B0193MM).
NOTE
When viewing the default display configuration (CONFIG) overlay (a process dis-
play), be aware that, for Integrators, the display uses the CP block frequency values
to determine the displayed PERIOD value, regardless of the station type. For exam-
ple, a block with a configured PERIOD index of eight displays its PERIOD (block
frequency) as 60 minutes in the configuration overlay, instead of the correct value of
64.0 seconds.
121
B0193VL – Rev K 5. Process Displays and System Management Displays
NOTE
For information on viewing these displays in System Manager, refer to System
Manager (B0750AP).
The DCS Fieldbus Modules are portrayed in the System Management displays as equivalent
I/A Series FBMs, as listed in Table 2-1 (on page page 9) through Table 2-7 (on page 33). DCS
Fieldbus Modules may be distinguished from other FBMs by means of their user-assigned module
identifiers (letterbugs), which can contain a prefix designating the device as a Honeywell DCS
Fieldbus Module (for example, H2xxxx).
Once DCS Fieldbus Modules for the I/O cards have been installed and configured, they must be
put on-line using the Equipment Change display. Then you can check their status using the
Equipment Information display. For detailed information on the use of the System Management
displays, refer to the Help screens.

6. Maintenance
This chapter provides information on maintaining the DCS Fieldbus Module subsystem.
The original maintenance and preventive maintenance philosophies for the Honeywell BC, EC,
MFC, HLPIU, LLPIU, and LEPIU equipment racks are maintained. This includes periodic
inspection and cleaning, checking the status of LED indicators, and checking for loose cable con-
nections.
Operating Status
The operating status of the DCS Fieldbus Modules is reported by the I/A Series software using
on-screen messages. [The I/A Series software regards the DCS Fieldbus Modules as standard
I/A Series Fieldbus Modules (FBMs).] Refer to the following I/A Series documents for informa-
tion on the reporting of equipment operating status and errors:
♦ System Maintenance (B0193AD)
♦ System Management Displays (B0193JC).
LED Indicators
LED indicators at the front of the H2SFBI or H3SFBI Fieldbus Isolator and the DCS Fieldbus
Module indicate the operational status of these devices (see Figure 6-1). The functions of the
H2SFBI/ H3SFBI Fieldbus Isolator LEDs are as follows:
♦ Remote Fieldbus Activity
When illuminated (amber), indicates the existence of communication activity on the
remote Fieldbus (that is, between the BC, EC, MFC, HLPIU, LLPIU, or LEPIU and
the I/A Series Control Processor).
♦ Local Fieldbus Activity
When illuminated (amber), indicates the existence of communication activity on the
local Fieldbus (that is, internal to the BC, EC, MFC, HLPIU, LLPIU, or LEPIU
rack).
♦ Run
When illuminated (green), indicates that the Fieldbus Isolator is operational
(running).
♦ Fail
When illuminated (red), indicates a problem with input power, or an on-card fault.

Two status LEDs (red and green) at the front of each DCS Fieldbus Module provide indications
of operating status, as listed in Table 6-1.
In addition to these “operational status” conditions, the red and green LEDs can also indicate
wrong placement of jumper modules on the H2M17 cards. If an installed H2M17 card has a
jumper module in a particular position and another H2M17 card is installed with its jumper
module in the same position, the red and green LEDs indicate the error as follows:
♦ On the previously installed H2M17, the green LED flashes and the red LED remains
off. (This H2M17 remains online.)
♦ On the newly installed H2M17, the green LED flashes and the red LED illuminates
steady-on. This H2M17 cannot be brought on-line until the conflict is corrected.
Remove the newly installed H2M17 and correct and verify its board-mounted jumper
module plug position (refer to Figure 3-27 on page 66).

6. Maintenance B0193VL – Rev K
♦ If power is applied to a nest with two installed H2M17s having the same jumper
module position, the red LEDs on both H2M17s will illuminate steady-on, and the
green LEDs on both H2M17s flash. Neither H2M17 can be brought online until the
problem is corrected. Remove the two H2M17s and correct and verify their board-
mounted jumper module plug positions (refer to Figure 3-27 on page 66).

NOTES:
1. H2M02E must have the ECB01 BUSWDS parameter set to 1. The H2M02E is connected
to Fieldbus A and B through an H2FBE1 Fieldbus Extender card, which automatically
switches from Bus A to Bus B upon a Fieldbus failure. If the BUSWDS parameter is not
set to 1, the H2M02E attempts to switch to the non-existent alternate bus. As a result,
the H2M02E does not respond to the “get status” command, and the alternate bus
appears to be failed.
2. H2M02E includes an on-card temperature sensor, which is used for cold junction thermo-
couple temperature compensation. This input is read in as Channel 9.
3. A MAIN control block can be used in place of the multiple AIN blocks.

replaced with a new power supply (p/n P0918HN).
♦ The power supply which powers the LLPIU or HLPIU is replaced with a new power
supply (p/n P0918ZP).
These power supplies are not included in the Migration Kit, but are ordered separately from
Invensys Systems, Inc.
The original power supply, and its replacement, are shown in Figure D-1. Proceed as follows:
1. Remove the power-in and power-out cables from the power supply, noting (for future
reference) which cables are connected to which input/output terminals.
2. Referring to Figure D-1, remove the three screws holding the power supply (and
attached mounting bracket) in place, and set the screws aside.
3. Remove the power supply from the rack, and replace it with the new Invensys power
supply (P0918HN).
4. Using the screws that held the original power supply in place, secure the power supply
to the rack.
