18-65 Cab tilt system


Description - Cab tilting with electric cab tilt pump
Read through 18-65 Cab tilting > M15, Electric cab tilt pump > Safety – Cab tilt system
before starting work.
Tilt the cab
1. Switch off the engine.

2. Apply the parking brake.

3. Put the gear lever in the neutral position.

4. Remove all loose objects and heavy equipment


from the cab.

5. Activate the switch for cab tilting on the


instrument panel.

6. Close the doors.

7. Open the upper front grille panel and the front


grille panel side panels.

8. Use the remote control for the cab tilting


function under the front grille panel.

Do not tilt the cab if the ground slopes more
than 10%. 3 1

WARNING!
Crew cab and low-entry cab strut

Do not tilt the cab if the anti-roll bar has been


removed.

Depress the activation switch and the tilting


switch, and keep these depressed until the cab
tilts forwards over the equilibrium position.
Continue to keep them depressed until you can
hear the pump working against a back pressure
and the cab has reached its full opening angle.

IMPORTANT!

Continue and keep the button pressed even after


the equilibrium position, until you hear that the
pump is working against a strong back pressure.

IMPORTANT!

Make sure that no unauthorised person has


access to the cab tilting function.

Only crew cab and low-entry cab:


1. Raise the cab strut.
2. Extend the cab strut, until it reaches the
lower part of the cab.
3. Secure the cab strut with the pin.

Lower the cab


1. Only crew cab and low-entry cab:
Lower the cab strut.

2. Use the remote control for the cab tilting


function.

WARNING!

Risk of crushing when the cab is tilted back.


The cab falls freely during the last part of the
tilting back phase.

Depress the activation switch and the tilt-back


switch, and keep these depressed until the cab
tilts back to the drive position movement range.

4. Switch off the switch in the cab.

5. Close the front grille panel side panels and the


upper front grille panel.
