After two days of blinding concrete, the concrete surface shall be cleaned thoroughly of all
contaminants like dust, traces of curing compound, oil and grease. All surface imperfections,
nail head protusion, structurally unsound and friable concrete shall be removed and
repaired. The surface must be dry before priming with Polyprime SB. Mix the contents of the
pail or drum for a few minutes. Apply the primer to a clean smooth and dry prior to the
application of the membrane.

Upon completion of Polyprime SB, start laying the installation of Bitustick XL 1.5mm Self
Adhesive membrane. Peel off the release film from the self adhesive side and start unrolling
the membrane and press it to the surface. Smoothen the membrane from the center to the
edges with a wooden press in order to remove entrapped air. The side overlaps shall be a
minimum of 50mm on the selvdge and end overlaps 100mm.
Upon completion the installation of Bitustick XL, start laying the installation of Bitustick XLS
2.0 mm Cross laminated white solar reflective self adhesive waterproofing membrane. Peel
off the release film from the self adhesive side and start unrolling the membrane and press it
to the surface. Smoothen the membrane from the center to the edges with a wooden press
in order to remove entrapped air. The side overlaps shall be a minimum of 50mm on the
selvedge and end overlaps 100mm.
Upon completion of the installation of Bitustick XLS, screeding concrete pouring will
commence.
Concrete grade for screeding concrete shall be (cement content of minimum 280 kg / m3) as
per approved MAS # 33 P1 – WBJV – PCC – CIVIL – MAS - 015.
The acceptance of slump will be as per approved mix design report and tolerance as per
standard indicated therein.
The finish of the screed surface shall be floated
After completion of finishing of top surface, polythene sheet will be covered to avoid
exposure of moisture and prevention of dust deposit on the finished concrete surface.
Curing will commence immediately after initial setting time. Wet hessian cloth will be covered
to the entire footing area and kept soaked with water. Periodic sprinkling of water will be
ensured to prevent evaporation from the hessian.
Formworks
All formwork will be used from the combination of 18mm thick marine ply and wooden
frames fabricated from in- house carpentry shop based on the structural drawings.
Height of the footing sides shall be positioned as per construction drawing and adequate
supports will be provided using jacks and wooden supports.
