PROCEDURE
MULTIPLEXER

A For 2:1 Multiplexer

For this case connect Select
input S1, $2, $3, ST to zero and sO to logical Input (0,1)
using patchchords.

2 Connect the Logic inputs to all the data inputs (DO to D15)
through patchchords.

Keep data input D2 to D15 at logic 0.

4. Connect the Y output to output indicator

through patchchord.
Switch ON the instrument using ON/OFF toggle switch provided on the front panel.

OBSERVATION TABLE No.(1)

Verify the Observation Table No. (1) INPUTS OUTPUT
for different set of
inputs. The output S.no Strobe Select Inputs
of IC 74150 is inverted $3 $2 S1 SO
output, so a
NOT Gate is used to get non-inverted
2
output. Connect the Youtput to input
of NOT Gate.

B. For 4:1 Multiplexer

For this case connect select input $2, $3, ST to zero and S0, S1 to logical Input (0,1).

2 Connect the Logic inputs to all the data inputs (DO to D15) through patchchords.

3. Keep data input D4 to D15 at logic 0.

4. Connect the Y output to output indicator through patchchord.

5. Switch ON the instrument using ON/OFF toggle switch provided on the front panel.

OBSERVATION TABLE No.(2)

6. Verify the Observation Table No. (2)- INPUTS OUTPUT
for different set of inputs. The output S.no Strobe Select Inputs
S, $3 $2 $1 SO
of IC 74150 is inverted output, so a
0 DO
NOT Gate is used to get non-inverted 2 1 D1
output. Connect the Y output to input D2
of NOT Gate. D3
C. For 8:1 Multiplexer
For this case connect select
input $3 & ST to zero and S0, S1, $2 to logical Input (0,1).

2. Connect the Logic inputs to ail the data inputs (D0 to D15) through patchchords.

3. Keep data input D8 to D15 at logic 0.

4. Connect the Y output to output indicator

through patchchord.

D. For 16:1 Multiplexer

1. Connect the Logic inputs to all the OBSERVATION TABLE No. (4)
