percent of rated capacity.
During shop testing of all hydro dynamic bearing pumps, the maximum allowable
unfiltered RMS vibration velocity, measured on the shaft, shall not exceed 7.5mm/s
over the operating range from 50 percent to 110 percent of rated capacity. In addition
the maximum allowable unfiltered double amplitude of vibration (including shaft
runout) shall not exceed the following limits:
Speed Double Amplitude of Vibration
(r/min) (Micrometers)
Below 1000 80
1000-4500 65
4501-6000 50
Over 6000 40
When specified on the pump data sheet, provision shall be made on hydrodynamic
bearing pumps for the installation of proximity probes in accordance with API STD
670.
4.2.6 LUBRICATION
The pressure lubrication system shall be in accordance with the requirements of the
data sheet (s), API 610 and API 614 (where applicable).
4.2.7 MATERIALS
Materials of construction shall be in accordance with those listed on the pump data

The VENDOR may propose equivalent or superior alternatives if, based on his
experience, these would render equal or better service.
Cast iron shall not be used for pressure containing parts without prior approval by the
PURCHASER.
The VENDOR shall provide material certificates giving chemical composition and
mechanical data for pressure-containing parts and all main components of the pump.
Nameplates and rotation arrows shall comply with the requirements of Specification
for Package General and API 610.
Rotation arrows shall be cast in or attached to each major item of rotating equipment
at a readily visible location.
Painting and protective coating and the procedures for preparation for painting shall
be in accordance with the requirements of the Specification for Protective Coating of
Surface Facilities or VENDOR shall state his standard coating scheme for
PURCHASER’s approval.
4.3 ACCESSORIES
4.3.1 DRIVERS
Unless otherwise approved, drivers for pumps shall be mounted in the pump, aligned
and match marked by VENDOR.
Drivers shall be capable of starting on full load against relief valve setting at
downstream piping.
Solid shaft, vertical motors with integral support skirts suitable for spigot mounting
direct to the pump casings or motor pedestals are preferred. The use of hollow shaft
motors is not acceptable without prior approval by the PURCHASER.
Couplings and coupling to shaft junctures shall be rated for at least 150% of the
maximum driver power, including any motor service factor.
Coupling guards shall meet all codes designated herein and any Government
Statutory Requirements and shall be designed to permit ease of installation and
removal. Coupling guards shall be constructed of non-sparking material. (Brass or
