What were the thoughts of each of the following characters after the tragedy at the end of
chapter 9?

actual society. It has now been converted into a tiny memory of what civilization was for the
boys.
2.-The Pig’s Head on the stick: It is taken by Jack as a symbol of the transition from a
civilized society to a more primitive and violent one. Jack and his followers abandon the
initial goal of being rescued and instead focus on hunting for food. It symbolizes de descend
into barbarism.
3.-The Signal Fire: Initially, the signal fire represents the boys' hope for rescue and their
connection to civilization. As the story unfolds, the fire takes on dual symbolism. While it
remains a potential means of rescue, it also becomes a destructive force when it grows out
of control.
