1 Packing List

The packing box for equipment delivery contains the following items:
● Chassis (with the product model on the nameplate)
● Power cable
● Power adapter (only delivered with the AR600 series routers)
● Installation accessory package(Depending on the device model, the accessory
package may contain the ground cable, Locking latches, mounting ears,
screws, rubber pads, console cables, and product documentation map
(including the qualification certificate). The actual delivery prevails.)

2 Installing the Router

Overview
For details about the precautions and requirements, see "Preparations for
Installation" in the Hardware Installation and Maintenance Guide.

AR routers provide different dimensions (width x depth x height). The installation


scenarios and methods of AR routers are related to their dimensions. AR routers of
different dimensions support different installation scenarios. This document
describes the main installation scenarios (cabinet installation, workbench
installation, and wall installation). For details about how to install an RU-5G or
other installation scenarios, see Hardware Installation and Maintenance Guide.

Scenario 1: Cabinet Mounting


1. Attach mounting brackets to the router with M4 screws.
2. Install floating nuts on the mounting bars of the cabinet.
3. Install the device to the cabinet.

Scenario 2: Desk Mounting


1. Install four rubber pads at the bottom of the device. (Some models have been
installed with rubber pad stickers or fixed foot stickers before delivery. In this
case, you do not need to install additional rubber pad stickers.)
2. Place the device on the desk.

Scenario 3: Wall Mounting


Devices of different dimensions can be installed on a wall using mounting ears or
without mounting ears.
Using mounting ears:
1. Install the front mounting ears to the device using M4 screws.
2. Drill holes on the wall using a φ8 drill bit and secure the device to the wall
using expansion bolts.

without mounting ears:


1. Locate two mounting holes on the wall based on the distance between
mounting holes on the bottom plate of the device and install mounting
screws.
2. Align the mounting holes on the rear of the device with the mounting screws
and hang the device on the mounting screws.

3 Connecting Cables

After the device is installed, connect the ground cable, power cable, management
cable, and service cable of the device.

NOTE

The device shown in the preceding figure is used only for ports and cable connections. The
port positions and cables of the device vary according to the actual device model.

4 Power on the device

1. Check before power-on.


– The power cable is correctly connected.
– The input voltage is normal. (For details about the voltage range of the
device, see the hardware description manual of the corresponding
product.)
2. Turn on the switch of the external power supply or power module to power
on the device.
3. Check after power-on.
Check whether the PWR indicator or SYS indicator is normal. In normal cases,
the PWR indicator is steady green and the SYS indicator is blinking green
slowly.

5 Login to the device for the first time

Overview
To configure services on a newly delivered device, you need to log in to the device
locally. After logging in to the, complete basic system configurations, such as the
device name, management IP address, and system time.
You can log in to the device through the console port or web network
management system for the first time. The supported login and login methods
depend on the device model and software version.

Using the console interface login settings


1. Connect the RJ45 connector of the console cable to the CONSOLE interface
(RJ45) of the router.

2. Start the terminal simulation software, create a connection, configure the


connected port, and set communication parameters as follows.
– Transmission rate: 9600
– Data bit (B): 8
– Parity bit: None
– Stop bit (S): 1
– Flow control mode: None
3. Press Enter until the following information is displayed. (The following
information is only for reference)
Login authentication
Warning: An initial username and password are required for the first login via the console.
Set a username and password and keep them safe.Otherwise you will not be able to login via the
console.
New Username:
Password:
Confirm password:
The account create success.
Info:Configuration console exit, please retry to log on

NOTE

The default username and password are available in AR Router Default Usernames
and Passwords (Enterprise Network or Carrier). If you have not obtained the access
permission of the document, see Help on the website to find out how to obtain it.

Using the web login settings


1. Use a network cable to connect a PC to the management interface marked
with the MGMT silkscreen on the router.

2. Enter https://192.168.1.1 in the address box of the browser and set the user
name and password for logging in to the device. The login page is displayed.

NOTE

In versions earlier than V300R021C00, enter the web address and enter the login page.
The default username and password are available in AR Router Default Usernames
and Passwords (Enterprise Network or Carrier). If you have not obtained the access
permission of the document, see Help on the website to find out how to obtain it.
