1) The Internet is a decentralized set of interconnected communication networks that use
the TCP/IP family of protocols, ensuring that the heterogeneous physical networks
that comprise it function as a single logical network, with global reach. Its origins
date back to 1969, when the first computer connection, known as ARPANET, was
established between three universities in California and one in Utah, United States.

2) One of the most successful services on the Internet has been the World Wide Web
(WWW, or "the Web"), to such an extent that confusion between both terms is
common. The WWW is a set of protocols that allows, in a simple way, remote
consultation of hypertext files. This was a later development (1990) and uses the
Internet as a transmission medium.

3) The Internet has a profound impact on work, leisure and knowledge worldwide.
Thanks to the web, millions of people have easy and immediate access to an
extensive and diverse amount of information online.

Compared to traditional encyclopedias and libraries, the web has allowed for a
sudden and extreme decentralization of information and data.

The Internet has reached a large part of the homes and companies in rich countries. In
this aspect, a digital divide has opened with poor countries, in which the penetration
of the Internet and new technologies is very limited for people.

However, over time Internet access has spread to almost all regions of the world, so it
is relatively easy to find at least 2 connected computers in remote regions.

From a cultural perspective of knowledge, the Internet has been an advantage and a
responsibility. For people who are interested in other cultures, the Internet provides a
significant amount of information and interactivity that would be unavailable
otherwise.

The Internet entered as a tool of globalization, ending the isolation of cultures. Due to
its rapid massification and incorporation into human life, virtual space is constantly
updated with information, whether reliable or irrelevant.

4) A flat rate in telecommunications is one in which the company that offers the
service charges a fixed amount, regardless of the amount of time the Internet
connection is used or the amount of information that is transferred. In short, a flat rate
is a linear rate, which is neither undulating and is unlimited.

5) To connect to the Internet, an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and certain hardware
are required:

ISP: An ISP provides access to the Internet. The way to contract an account with an
ISP is the same as that used to contract telephone service or other public services.

Hardware: For a broadband connection, such as digital subscriber line (ADSL) or

cable, an ADSL or cable modem is required. Typically, your ISP includes it as part of
the startup hardware when you sign up for a broadband account. For a dial-up
connection, you need a dial-up modem. Many computers already come with this type
of modem installed.
6) With the advent of the Internet and high-speed connections available to the public,
the Internet has significantly altered the way some people work by being able to do so
from their homes. The Internet has allowed these people greater flexibility in terms of
schedules and location, contrary to the traditional 9 to 5 workday in which employees
travel to the workplace.

An accounting expert based in one country can review the books of a company in
another country, on a server located in a third country that is maintained remotely by
specialists in a fourth.

Internet publicity

The Internet has become the fastest growing most measurable medium in history.
Currently there are many companies that make money from Internet advertising. In
addition, there are many advantages that interactive advertising offers both for the
user and for advertisers.

7) A search engine is defined as the computer system that indexes files stored on web
servers when information is requested on a topic. Using keywords, the exploration is
carried out and the search engine displays a list of addresses with related topics.
There are different ways to classify search engines according to the polling process
they carry out. The most frequent classification divides them into: thematic indexes or
directories, search engines and metasearch engines.

Metasearch engines

Metasearch engines are systems that locate information in the most used search
engines, perform an analysis and select their own results. They do not have a
database, so they do not store web pages and perform an automatic search in the
databases of other search engines, taking a certain range of records with the most
relevant results.

8) * 1969: The first interconnected network was born on November 21, 1969, when the
first link was created between the universities of UCLA and Stanford through the
switched telephone line, and thanks to the previous work and studies of several
scientists and organizations since 1959. The myth that ARPANET, the first network,
was built simply to survive nuclear attacks remains popular. However, this was not the
only reason. While it is true that the ARPANET was designed to survive network
failures, the real reason for this was that the switching nodes were unreliable.

* 1972: The first public demonstration of ARPANET was carried out, a new
communications network funded by DARPA that operated in a distributed manner
over the switched telephone network. The success of this new architecture led, in
1973, to DARPA to begin a research program on possible techniques to interconnect
networks of different kinds. For this purpose, they developed new communications
protocols that would allow this exchange of information in a "transparent" way for
connected computers. From the philosophy of the project arose the name "Internet",
which was applied to the system of interconnected networks through the TCP and IP
protocols.

* 1983: On January 1, ARPANET changed the NCP protocol to TCP/IP. That same
year, the IAB was created to standardize the TCP/IP protocol and provide research
resources to the Internet. On the other hand, the function of assigning identifiers was
focused on the IANA, which later delegated part of its functions to the Internet registry
which, in turn, provides services to the DNS.

* 1986: The NSF began the development of NSFNET, which became the main
Internet tree network, later complemented by the NSINET and ESNET networks, all in
the United States. At the same time, other backbone networks in Europe, both public
and commercial, together with the American ones formed the basic skeleton of the
Internet.

* 1989: With the integration of OSI protocols into the Internet architecture, the
current trend began to allow not only the interconnection of networks with disparate
structures, but also to facilitate the use of different communications protocols.

At CERN in Geneva, a group of physicists led by Tim Berners-Lee created the HTML
language, based on SGML. In 1990 the same team built the first Web client,
called WorldWideWeb (WWW), and the first web server.

* 2006: On January 3, the Internet reached one billion one hundred million users. It
is expected that in ten years, the number of Internet surfers will increase to 2
billion.

9) Boolean operators (AND, NOT, OR) locate records that contain the matching terms
in one of the specified fields or in all of the specified fields.

AND logical (AND): Use the AND operator to locate records that contain all of the
specified search terms. It is a reduction operator:

Logical NOT (NOT): Use the NOT operator to locate records that contain the first
search term but not the second.

For example:
Logical OR (OR): Use the OR operator to locate records that contain any or all of the
specified terms.

10) An IP address is a numerical label that identifies, in a logical and hierarchical

manner, an interface (communication/connection element) of a device (usually a
computer) within a network that uses the IP protocol, which corresponds to the level
of the TCP/IP protocol network. The IP address can be changed. This address may
change 2 or 3 times a day; This form of IP address assignment is called a dynamic IP
address (usually abbreviated as dynamic IP).

11) A Web page, also known as an Internet page, is an electronic document adapted
for the Web, but is usually part of a Web site. Its main characteristic is the hyperlinks
of a page, this being the foundation of the Web.

A Web page is mainly composed of information (only text or multimedia modules) as

well as hyperlinks; It can also contain or associate style data to specify how it should
be displayed, and also embedded applications to make it interactive.

Web pages are written in a markup language that provides the ability to manage and
insert hyperlinks, usually HTML.

12) An Internet address refers to the two previous addresses, email address and web
address, as well as an IP address, which is a number assigned to a computer that is
connected to the Internet.

13) A uniform resource locator, more commonly called URL, is a sequence of

characters, according to a model and standard format, that is used to name resources
on the Internet for location or identification, such as textual documents, images,
videos, digital presentations, etc.

14) An Internet portal is a website whose fundamental characteristic is to serve as a

(single) gateway to offer the user, in an easy and integrated way, access to a series of
resources and services related to the same topic. . Includes: links, search engines,
forums, documents, applications, electronic purchases, etc. Mainly an Internet portal
is aimed at solving specific information needs on a particular topic.

15) On the Internet, a forum, also known as a message board, opinion forum, debate
forum or discussion forum, is a web application that supports online discussions or
opinions.

Name that identifies the page: Google

com.: from commercial English, merchant is a generic internet domain that is part of
the internet domain system. The .com domain is one of the original domains of the
Internet,
Ar: While any company in the world can register a .com domain, many countries have
second-level domains with a similar purpose Argentina (.com.ar).

17) If I do not know the address of a Web page to search for it, I enter the name of the
company in the search engine, in this case Google, and the different addresses to
enter the official page appear on our screen.

18) An Internet domain is an identification network associated with a group of devices

or computers connected to the Internet network.

The main purpose of domain names on the Internet and the domain name system
(DNS) is to translate the IP addresses of each active node on the network.

19) Cookies are small files that some websites save on your computer. Cookies store
information about you, such as username or registration information, or user
preferences, but they do not spy on you, like spyware. If you have a cookie from a
website you go to often, the cookie remembers things that will make your next visit to
that page a little easier, and even makes pages load a little faster.

20) A web form within a web page allows the user to enter data which is sent to a
server to be processed. Web forms are similar to paper forms because Internet users
fill out these forms using check boxes, radio buttons, or text fields.

21) A banner (in Spanish: banderola) is an advertising format on the Internet. This
form of online advertising consists of including an advertising piece within a web
page. In practically all cases, its objective is to attract traffic to the website of the
advertiser who pays for its inclusion.

22) Browsing offline is viewing a page or document on the Internet disconnected from
the Web.

23) FTP, File Transfer Protocol in computing, is a network protocol for transferring
files between systems connected to a TCP network.

Based on client-server architecture. From a client computer you can connect to a

server to download files from it or to send files to it, regardless of the operating
system used on each computer.

24) A plug-in is a module or driver that adds a specific feature or service to a larger
system.

The idea is that the new component simply plugs into the existing system. For
example, there are a large number of plug-ins for the Firefox browser that allow you to
use various tools and the Flash plug-in allows you to view Flash animations in any
browser.

25) A webcam is a small digital camera connected to a computer, which can capture
images and transmit them over the Internet, either to a web page or to another or other
computers privately.
26) More commonly known as MP3, it is a proprietary digital audio compression
format that uses a lossy algorithm to achieve a smaller file size. It is a common audio
format used for music on both computers and portable audio players.

27) A beta version or beta release generally represents the first complete version of
the software or other product, which may be unstable but useful for internal
demonstrations and pre-screening to select customers.

28) A beta version or beta release generally represents the first complete version of
the software or other product, which may be unstable but useful for internal
demonstrations and pre-screening to select customers.

29) Telnet is the name of a network protocol that is used to access another machine
through a network to manage it remotely as if we were sitting in front of it. It is also
the name of the computer program that the client implements. For the connection to
work, as in all Internet services, the machine being accessed must have a special
program that receives and manages the connections. The port generally used is 23.30)
An intranet is a network of private computers that uses Internet technology to share
part of its information systems and operational systems within an organization. The
term intranet is used in opposition to the Internet, a network between organizations,
referring instead to a network within the scope of an organization.

31) Electronic mail (email), or in English e-mail, is a network service that allows users
to quickly send and receive messages (also called electronic messages or electronic
letters) using electronic communication systems.

32) A Webmail is an email client, which provides a Web interface through which to
access email.

Normal 0 21 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

33) IRC is a text-based, real-time communication protocol that allows discussions

between two or more people. It differs from instant messaging in that users do not
have to agree to establish communication beforehand, so that all users who are in a
channel can communicate with each other, even if they have not had any previous
contact.

34) They are software that is responsible for the protection of the information handled
on the Internet.

35) Emoticons, punctuation marks that resemble facial expressions, try to clarify the
situation. However, they result in a saturation of small generic-interchangeable
images, which ignore the nuances of gestural communication.

36) In computing, an emulator is software that allows computer programs or video

games to be run on a platform different from the one for which they were originally
written. Unlike a simulator, which only tries to reproduce the behavior of the program,
an emulator tries to accurately model the device being emulated.

37) Those you point out are undoubtedly important dangers, but I have great concern
about "without leaving home", I mean that, without a doubt, it is a danger to
communicate with others without having a personal face-to-face relationship, without
having to Leaving the house, many people spend too many hours in front of the
computer and that means not moving and interacting with other people that you don't
see and of whom you have an idea that may not be reality. My concern is especially
for younger people who are a little shy or who have problems integrating with people
their age; they make the Internet their world, fantasizing about the reality they do not
want to live.

38) The term freeware defines a type of proprietary software that is distributed at no
cost, available for use and for an unlimited time, being a free variant of shareware, in
which the goal is to get a user to try the product for a period of time ( "trial"), and if
you are satisfied, pay for it, enabling all its functionality. Sometimes the source code
is included but this is not usual.

39) Shareware is called a type of software distribution, both video games and X
videos, in which the user can evaluate the product for free, but with limitations on the
time of use or on some of the forms of use or with restrictions on final capacities.

40) He is a computer expert who is responsible for spying on or stealing other

people's software.

41) It is a person who, through reverse engineering, creates: serials, keygens and
cracks, which serve to modify the behavior or expand the functionality of the original
software or hardware to which they are applied, without in any way intending to be
harmful to the user thereof. .
