personnel involved in the application and supervision of floating floor
installation.
3. RESPONSIBILITIES:

3.2 field professional:
It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with current plans and
regulations regarding this procedure.
He is responsible for defining the quantities of profiles that will be requested
for the work, as well as the weekly program where all the elements involved
are considered.
Comply with deadlines and ensure quality management of the item.
Inform the construction professional daily of compliance and progress of the
weekly work program.
3.3 field supervisors:

placement, ensuring that they meet the requirements that the task demands.
Compile all the information that the Checklists and other documents
generate, with which studies and follow-ups will subsequently be developed,
aiming for continuous improvement.
4. PROCESS ACTIVITIES
PREVIOUS JOBS
o The environment where the floating floor will be placed must be free
of humidity, with its openings, doors and windows, installed with their
corresponding glass.
o It is important to have completed the wet stages before beginning the
floating floor installation stage.
o The subfloor must be absolutely clean and smooth before installing
the material.
o Remove any irregularities larger than 2 mm.
o The amount of moisture in the concrete should not exceed 12%, a
freshly laid cement screed should dry for at least one week for each
centimeter of thickness up to 4 cm and for two weeks per centimeter
of thickness exceeding 4 cm with surface Therefore, a 6 cm mortar
must dry for at least 8 weeks.
o Check if all the joints fit correctly, if not, do not install, separate and
use where they fit, if the defect persists, contact the supplier,
identifying the date, time and starting number (on the back of each
table).
PLACEMENT

o Placement begins with a moisture-proof plastic film of at least 200
microns thick, if possible use a single piece of film, otherwise use
different pieces of film overlapping at least 20 cm and join them
together using adhesive tape Moisture proof, throughout the joint.
Afterwards, place a 2 mm intermediate leveling blanket, which
eliminates any small irregularities.
o It is mandatory to use a 200 micron polyethylene film overlapped by
20 cm and glued with 5 cm packing tape placed on the base floor and
before placing the polyethylene blanket.
o All floors are laid in a floating manner, only the male and female parts
are glued, so the boards should not be fixed to the base floor with
glue, nails or in any other way.
o Where it is possible to leave separations, which are covered with a
profile that is fixed to the base floor, expansion joints should be
inserted between rooms as well as in all rooms with a placement area
of more than 10m long with boards. placed longitudinally, or more
than 8m wide with the boards arranged laterally.
o Always place the boards from left to right and with the female part
facing the wall.
GLUED
o Lay out the first three rows of boards without gluing them. Once the
first rows are aligned, the rest of the floor can be easily placed. When
placing the boards with a decorative pattern, be sure to properly mix
the boards from the different boxes. This will prevent identical boards
from being placed next to each other and will also optimize the
natural effect.
o Carefully remove the first three rows, evenly applying a sufficient
amount of glue to the bottom of the female board and then place the
first board of the first row and the first board of the second row.
o Carefully hammer the board into place by hand with the hammer and
wooden batten. Do not hit the male side directly with the hammer, to
finish, fasten the boards with two pieces of adhesive tape for a perfect
installation.
o At the end of each row, press firmly on the transverse side of the
boards so that they fit well using a curved lever, fix them using spacer
blocks to the wall.
o If laying is interrupted for a long period of time, it is necessary to hold
the last laid row in place by taping or placing a weight on each board.

o It is necessary to leave an expansion space for the material between
the last row and the wall, remember this when cutting the last row of
boards.
o When installing the last row, press against the previous row using a
curved lever and place spacer shims against the wall until the adhesive
dries, then remove the shims and proceed to install baseboards.
o If there are pipes protruding from the floor, the ideal would be to use
the boards in their transverse part, drill a hole in the boards adding
16mm to the diameter as space for expansion of the material. Once
the perforation has been made in the boards in the middle of said
perforation, once the perforation has been made in the boards, cut
them in the middle of said perforation.
