1. Concept
In this lesson “Project Work”, students will integrate vocabulary and structures they have
learned in this module which is animals and comparison adjectives. Students will create a
poster about the fact of an animal. Then, students will create 2 sentences of comparison
degree and 1 sentence of superlative degree. After the end of the class, students are able to
present the animal’s fact poster and use comparison adjectives correctly.

3. Learning Objectives
By the end of this class, the students are able to:

1. Vocabulary: review the whole module (animals and adjectives)
2. Structure: comparison sentences (comparative and superlative degree)
3. Function: using comparative and superlative degree to compare animals.
5. Learning procedure
(Period 1: Online class)
5.1 Connecting Previous and New Knowledge
1) Students look at the picture of polar bear and guess what it is.
2) The teacher asks students some questions from the picture.
- What is it?
- What kind of animals is it?
5.2 Cognitive Conflict and Doing Learning Task
1) Students think about what they
know about the polar bear. Then,
type their answer and send it in
Padlet. The teacher provides Padlet
link for students.
5.3 Exploring Independently & Constructing Knowledge & Exploring Various Ideas
1) The teacher presents an example of an animal’s fact poster (Polar bear).
2) Students observe the poster and tell what information they can see.
- Name: Polar bear
- Weight: 680 kg
- Length: 6-10 feet
- Abilities: can travel 20 miles/day
- Life span: 25-30 years
- Population: 20,000-25,000
- Etc.
3) The teacher assigns students group work to pick 1 wild animal they like and find
fact of animals follow the list:
5.4 Idea Sharing and Constructing Group conclusion
1) Students were divided into breakout room in Zoom. There will be 3-4
students/group.
2) The teacher provides Jam board link for students. Then, students find the
information together and list it down in Jam board.
(Period 2: Online class)
3) After they finish, every group presents the animal fact they choose with the group
in front of the class.
4) This step, others might observe the presenter group and check the information. (Do
they have complete information?)
5) The teacher presents an example of an animal’s fact poster again.
6) Students observe the poster and tell what they can see. The teacher might use some
questions to make students notice.

- Does it short or long?
- Does it use full sentence or some keyword?

5.5 Creating Product and Innovation
1) The teacher assigns the final work to students which is individual work.
2) Students have to create the animal’s fact poster by themselves. The animal’s fact
poster must have 6 complete components which are:
- Name and Scientific name
- Size (weight and length) and Characteristic
- Abilities (can and can’t)
- Life span
- Describe the animal by using 2 comparative sentences
- Describe the animal by using 1 superlative sentence
2) Then, students present their poster to the class.
5.6 Creating How to be an entrepreneur
1) Students discuss with the class where they can place the poster which place is
suitable for this.
2) Then, students vote for work that they like the most.
