Section - A
All questions are compulsory. In case of internal choices attempt any one.
1. If sin 𝜃 + cos 𝜃 = 0 and θ lies in the fourth quadrant, find the value of sin 𝜃 and cos 𝜃. 2
2. 3 𝛼 2
If sin 𝛼 = − 5
and 180° < 𝛼 < 270°, find the exact value of cos 2 .

OR
Prove that: sin(45° + 𝐴) cos(45° − 𝐵) + cos(45° + 𝐴) sin(45° − 𝐵) = cos(𝐴 − 𝐵).
3. 1 1 1 2
Evaluate: 3! + 4! + 5! .

4. In how many ways can a coach choose three swimmers from among five swimmers? 2
5. If 𝑓(𝑥) = 1 − 𝑥 + 𝑥 2 − 𝑥 3 + . . … − 𝑥 99 + 𝑥 100 , then 𝑓 ′ (1) = 50. Justify it. 2
6. Let A = {1, 2, … … , 100}. A number 𝑥 is selected at random from A. What is the 2
𝑥 2 −60 +800
probability that < 0? 60x
𝑥−30

Section - B
All questions are compulsory. In case of internal choices attempt any one.

𝑛!
𝐶 (𝑛, 𝑟) = 𝑟!( 𝑛−𝑟)!
, determine the value of 𝑛 and 𝑟.

8. Determine the point in XY – plane which is equidistant from the three points (2, 0, 3), 3
(0, 3 , 2) and (0, 0 1).
9. Find the equation of the circle passing through the points ( 1, − 2) and (4, − 3) and 3
whose centre lies on the line 3𝑥 + 4𝑦 = 7.
10. Find the equation of the parabola with vertex at (0, 0) and focus at (0, 2). Also, find the 3
equation of its directrix.
OR

Obtain the sum of distances of the point ( 5, 4√3) on the ellipse 16𝑥 2 + 25 𝑦 2 = 1600

Section - C
All questions are compulsory. In case of internal choices attempt any one.

firm 𝑋 is 0.7 and being rejected at 𝑌 𝑖𝑠 0.5 and probability of at least one of his
applications being rejected is 0.6. What is the probability that he will be selected in one
of the firms?
