Mouina Ramadan
Head of Senior School
Dear Senior Students ,

As we approach the end of the examination period, I wanted to express how incredibly proud I am of
each and every one of you. Your dedication, perseverance, and hard work throughout the
examination period have been truly commendable. The effort and application you have shown during
this challenging time are a testament to your resilience and commitment to academic excellence.

I am also delighted to share some remarkable achievements from our school community. Recently,
Batoul Haidar and Hosain Sadiq from Year 9 participated in the EVATT discussion at the University of
Technology, Sydney. Their insightful contributions on the health care system and assylum seekers in
Australia have brought great honor to our college. This recognition is a reflection of their hard work
and the high standards we uphold at our college. You can read more about this later in the
newsletter.
In addition, our students have shone
brightly at the recent leadership
conference. The representatives from
our college, Fatima and Zahra Al-Attar,
Aylan Asgher, Fatima El Kazwini,
Mohamed Hachouche, Batoul Haidar,
Malak Hodroj, Muhammad El-Hadi
Khalil, Ali Moledina and Hosain Sadiq,
displayed outstanding leadership
qualities and represented our
institution with distinction. Their
participation in such a significant event
highlights the strength and potential of
our student leaders.

Our college life is vibrant and enriched by the talents and efforts of our students. The sense of
community, support, and shared values make our college a special place to learn and grow. We
continue to nurture an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to reach their full
potential.
Lastly, I would like to acknowledge the
incredible sportsmanship displayed at
the Independent Schools District (ISD)
Cross Country competition. Our
students competed with enthusiasm,
determination, and a spirit of
camaraderie that exemplifies the best
of our college athletic culture. Your
participation and effort in this
competition have made us all proud.

Congratulations to Lujane Albayati, Lujane Waheda

Year 7, Waheda Shakib Year 11 for
making the next round at elite

representative AICES level.

Let us continue to support each other, strive for excellence, and celebrate our achievements
together. Thank you for making our college a place of pride and joy.

Warm regards,

Mrs. Ramadan
Head of Senior School
Asalamu Alaykum,
Dear Parents,

We are excited to share with you the Evatt Competition held at the University of Technology on
Saturday 18th May. The competition is the state round of the UN Youth Australia’s premier Model
United Nations (MUN) competition. The competition is named after the notable Dr Herbert Vere Evatt,
commonly known as ‘Doc’ for his Doctor of Laws degree, who was an Australian politician and remains
the youngest ever Justice of the High Court of Australia. Doc Evatt was later elected as the President
of the United Nations General Assembly and helped draft the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The Evatt Competition takes the form of a MUN debate simulating a session in the United Nations
Security Council (UNSC) chamber. Students in Years 9 to 12 from various schools compete in teams of
two where they debate, amend, and vote on resolutions about current world issues from the
perspective of the country they are representing.

Fifteen teams from different schools represented one of the fifteen-member states of the UNSC in
2024. Bellfield students from Year 9 , Batoul Haidar and Hosain Saqiq represented the United Kingdom
in the course of the debate, where they:
Delivered speeches to the Council to persuade other teams of their country’s point of view
Lobbied and negotiated with other teams during caucus time, and also in a separate negotiation
chamber, that can be requested during the debate
Proposed amendments to the resolution to suit their country’s agenda
Asked questions to other countries like in parliamentary Question Time
Voted on the final resolution

The students enjoyed being part of this event and we

look forward to sharing updates and similar events in
the future.

Kind regards,

Maysaa Balhas
Extra Curricular Coordinator
Asalamu Alaykum,

In recent weeks our stage 5, Design
and Technology students have
been delving into the world of
sustainable materials and eco-
friendly design principles.

In groups, students worked

together to design and build an
eco-friendly shrine or mosque.

They applied sustainable design

principles, focusing on renewable
materials and energy efficiency.

Groups showcased their models to

the class while presenting a
presentation explaining the
sustainable features included.

I am incredibly proud of our

students and am looking forward
to what else they can create!

Kind regards,

Hadi Hussain
