Feature Mapping for Circle of Control

A) Circle of Control

A.1 Psychoeducation:- Understanding Circle of Control

Therapist explains the concept of control


(In App through psychoeducational video or offline in session. Whatever seems fine)

- Circle of Control: These are aspects of your life over which you have direct control.
Focus on these areas for example My Action, My Thoughts, My Netflix Time
- Circle of Influence: These are things you can influence but not fully control. Prioritize
them next for example my health.
- Circle of Concern: These are external factors beyond your control. Acknowledge them
but avoid excessive worry for example Israel and Palestine War, National Politics, News

A.2) Circle of Control features

Description:- A drag and and drop feature showing a tri-circle and user categorize his/her
concerns into
“Within control, Semi Control, No Control” with customisation (option to add user’s own concern)

Functionality:- Drag and Drop items into three circles which is pre-available with concern as
options to drag and drop eg:-

● Circle of Control (Things that are in control):-


1. Your thoughts and attitude: You can choose how you react to situations and
what you focus on.
2. Your effort and actions: You can control how hard you try and what steps you
take.
3. Your time and schedule: You can decide how you spend your time and what
gets prioritized.
4. Your health and well-being: You can make choices about what you eat, how
much you sleep, and how you exercise.
5. Your relationships: You can choose how you treat others and how you invest in
your relationships.
6. Your communication: You can control what you say and how you say it.
7. Your boundaries: You can decide what is and is not acceptable in your life.
8. Your learning and growth: You can choose to learn new things and develop your
skills.
9. Your information consumption: You can decide what media and information you
expose yourself to.
10. Your environment: You can control your physical space and the atmosphere you
create.
11. Your habits: You can choose the habits you form and the routines you follow.
12. Your finances: You can make choices about how you spend and save your
money.
13. Your risk-taking: You can decide how much you are willing to step outside your
comfort zone.
14. Your forgiveness: You can choose to forgive others and yourself.
15. Your gratitude: You can choose to focus on the positive things in your life.
16. Your creativity: You can explore your creative side and express yourself.
17. Your sense of humor: You can choose to find humor in life's challenges.
18. Your resilience: You can develop your ability to bounce back from setbacks.
19. Your purpose: You can define your values and what gives your life meaning.
20. Your contribution: You can choose how you want to make a positive impact on
the world.
21. Add Your Own (Customisation)
● Circle of Influence (Semi Control):-
1. Physical appearance: You can control your hairstyle, clothing, and grooming
habits, but genetics and aging also play a role.
2. Mood: You can influence your mood with your thoughts, activities, and sleep
habits, but external factors can also affect it.
3. Energy levels: You can manage your energy levels with diet, exercise, and
sleep, but illness and stress can also sap your energy.
4. Surroundings: You can control your immediate surroundings like your
workspace or home environment, but factors like noise from neighbors or
weather can also influence it.
5. Conversations: You can steer the direction of conversations and what you
disclose, but the other person also contributes to the flow.
6. Career path: You can choose your field of study, develop your skills, and
network, but job availability and economic factors also play a role.
7. Public perception: You can manage your online presence and how you present
yourself, but others' interpretations and rumors can also influence it.
8. Safety: You can take precautions to stay safe, but accidents and unforeseen
circumstances can also be a factor.
9. Comfort: You can influence your comfort level with your clothing, environment,
and activities, but unexpected situations can arise.
10. Privacy: You can control what personal information you share and use privacy
settings, but technology advances and data breaches can also be a concern.
11. Add Your Own (Customisation)
● Circle of Concern (No Control):-
1. Genetics: Our genetic makeup predetermines many things about us, from our
physical appearance to our susceptibility to certain diseases.
2. Past experiences: We cannot change the events that have already happened in
our lives, but we can control how we interpret and learn from them.
3. Other people's actions and behaviors: We cannot control how others choose to
act or behave, but we can control how we react to them.
4. The weather: While we can prepare for different weather conditions, we cannot
control the weather itself.
5. Natural disasters: Earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, and other natural disasters
are unpredictable and unavoidable events.
6. Time: Time marches on relentlessly, and we cannot slow it down or speed it up.
7. The economy: Economic factors such as inflation, interest rates, and job
markets are largely outside of our control.
8. Acts of nature: Wildfires, tsunamis, and other natural phenomena are powerful
forces that we cannot control.
9. Loss and death: Loss is a natural part of life, and we will all experience the
death of loved ones at some point.
10. Biological processes: Aging, illness, and other biological processes are
inevitable aspects of human existence.

A.3) Action Plan Creator


Tittle in App:- Create your Action Plan

- In this feature user can create action plan for the items/concerns which are in their
control for example my action and behaviors, how do I react to situations.
- Focusing on the concerns which user can directly change and have complete control.
(Circle number 1)

- A step by step guide to create action plan.


- Mindfulness Exercises to manage worry and tension while making progress.
- Integration of Journal where user can write his/her feelings during the process of making
progress.
- Checklist for tracking progress.

A.3.1) Step by step guide

(Identify steps to manage concerns within your control)

- Step 1(Goal Identification) :- Defining/Writing/Typing specific actions/goals user


can take (What is your goal?)
UX/UI:- This question can appear above a box. In box user can write answer to
the question. (In box text can appear like this:-I want to………)
Example:- I want to improve my study habit

- Step 2 Breaking Down the Goal:- User can breakdown the actions/goal into
manageable step. (Define specific actions you can take to focus on things which
are in your control or What steps will help you to achieve your goal?

UX/UI:- Setting up entry fields with a given box to write

User can identify the obstacles which they might face while achieving goals and how to

@) Mindfulness Exercises

Along with action plan user can incorporate some Mindfulness Exercises to manage stress,
anxiety and worry which they may face during the accomplishment of goals.

@ )Integration with daily journal

- Here user can write his/her problems, worries, tension, thoughts and feelings which
he/she is facing during the process of accomplishing goals/change.
- Voice notes for self.

A.4) Progress Tracker

- A dashboard showing progress of the user for controllable aspects.

- Charts and graphs can be added for showing completed actions.

- History of past action plans and progress.


- Reflection upon the completion of each step/ goal “How did you feel about completing
this step/goal”

A.5) Notifications and Reminders

- Customisable Reminders
- Notifications for action plans, goals and steps.
