On October 16 from 1923, Walt Disney and his brother Roy O.

founded the most influential


company in entertainment: The Walt Disney Company. You know this company

1923 :

In the summer of 1923, the Disney brothers moved to Los Angeles in hopes of starting a career
in animation. Walt had devised a character called "Oswald, the Lucky Rabbit," who became the
center of his work. However, after some disagreements he lost Osawald's rights and pushed
him to create something new and unique. In the fall of the same year he created Mickey
Mouse and his first appearance in "Steamboat Willie" in 1928 revolutionized animation and
catapulted Walt Disney to fame.

1928:

Mickey's debut in "Steamboat Willie" was a resounding success and launched Disney Brothers
Studio straight to fame. or just a character loved by the public, but it could also be used for a
variety of purposes, from movies to related products

1937:

In the years that followed, Disney continued to innovate in animation. They released the first
color animated film, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." The company experimented with
full-length films as they only made short films.

1942 to 1945:

during World War II, Walt Disney was involved in the production of propaganda for the U.S.
government. Disney's cartoons served to generate support for the United States military.

1950:

The studio begins fully live film production with Treasure Island and the feature film Cinderella
is released.

1955:

Disney's first theme park opened in Anaheim, California. It was a magical place where visitors
could experience Disney stories and characters in real life. This revolutionary approach to the
visitor experience became a model for theme parks around the world.

1966:

Walt Disney passed away before seeing many of his company's subsequent expansions and
successes. However, his legacy lives on and continues to inspire generations of creators and
animation lovers. Roy Disney took over the management of the company after the death of his
brother

1971:

Walt Disney World Resort opens in Orlando, Florida This theme park was even larger than the
original in California and became a world-renowned tourist destination. Brother Roy Oliver
Disney dies and Donn Tatum begins the long list of presidents.

1983:
Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD begins broadcasting on American cable systems and
the Tokyo Disneyland theme park opens in Japan.

1985:

The studio begins making animated shorts for television, starting with Adventures of the
Gummi Bears and The Wuzzles; Pinocchio is released for the first time on videotape, and it
becomes a bestseller.

1989 to 1991:

The Little Mermaid is launched. Disney is offering a hefty sum of money for the purchase of Jim
Henson's characters, The Muppets. The Muppets premieres on TV at Walt Disney World, but
Jim Henson dies and the deal never closes. Beauty and the Beast is the first animated film to
be nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture.

1995:

In October, the company hires Michael Ovitz as president, Disney launches the first CGI film,
Toy Story, under a deal with Pixar Animation Studios, and buys the sports channel ESPN.

1998 to 1999

Animal Kingdom opens at Walt Disney World. Disney signs a 5-film deal with Pixar, the first of
which is A Bug's Life. Disney agrees with Canal Satélite Digital the exclusive launch of Disney
Channel Spain and The animated film Tarzan is released, which is the last of the "Disney
Renaissance Era" (as they call it because of the type of drawings it has).

2005:

Disneyland celebrates its 50th anniversary on July 17. On September 11, Hong Kong officially
opens a theme park.

2006:

On January 25, Disney announces the purchase of Pixar Animation Studios for $7.4 billion:
Steve Jobs becomes majority shareholder. On February 7, Disney regains the rights to his
preliminary character, Oswald The Lucky Rabbit, through an agreement with NBC Universal.
Disney Channel High School Musical Best Picture Premieres in Disney Channel Movies and
Hannah Montana Feature Films. In the cinema, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is
released, ranking second among the highest-grossing films of the year.

2009:

Disney announces the purchase of Marvel Entertainment for 4,000 million dollars, Disney
creates the first African-American "Disney princess" (Tiana).

2019:

The Disney Plus platform came out, which included: Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and
National Geographit.

Now:
This year Disney loses the rights to Mickey Mouse, Disney plus now has ESPN and Star Plus and
this month it released its most anticipated sequel intensely 2 that the first movie came out in
2015 after 9 years
