Aromatic with a touch of citrus, Green,
Sharp
Probably some of the most iconic classic
men / teenager smell out there. I would
put this on the same category as A&F
Fierce and Montblanc Legend (that kind
of DNA). To be honest, I don't like this.
Smells sharp, cloying, and offensive for
my nose, which makes it hard to
breathe.

Me gustó
tanto que termine comprandola
también... Atemporal, elegante pero aún
jovial...
9/10... Fragancia que recomiendo para
fiestas y ocasiones íntimas donde
atraerás a quien te propongas... No creo
recomendar para eventos formales ni
para trabajo, ya que el aroma es
exquisito pero algo dulzón... Compra a
ciegas seguro!!! La usaría en cualquier
estación del año, creo que en cualquiera
rendiría bien, dependiendo siempre del
PH de cada persona... Espero haberles
ayudado a decidirse... Saludos

This Fragrance may be old but still
relevant IMO.
Some people would say it smells like
body odor, but still, its fresh and green
scent is addicting.

This fragrance is an underrated citrusy
fresh aromatic green fragrance that isn't
hyped up enough in the fragrance
community, this is an everyday fragrance
that will make the person ask you “how
do you smell so clean?” it smells like you
are out on a walk during the evening in a
lemon garden, the bottle looks like
deodrant but thats the only negative,
great fragrance!

This is beautiful. It strikes me as a better
La Nuit de l'Homme. It has fresh and
green aspects but it's not a fresh or
green fragrance. It's more effervescent
and refined. Wonderful for cooler
weather and nighttime.

First Pass - Clean. Fresh. Floral. Citrusy.
A little musk. A little wood
1 Hour Later - A little sweet. A little spicy.
Some woods. Some florals.
Predominantly citrus
2 Hours Later - Very floral now. Musky.
Musty.
Overall - To me this reads as a rebooted
version of Boss Number One (which I
have reviewed separately).
212 MEN is an improvement over that
offering. It still feels muddled to me,
albeit I typically don’t like scents in this
genre

Smells very similar to Creed Silver
mountain water but with amped up
citrus. It's versatile and last longer than
most citrus frags, I have no complaints.

This was my first designer scent,
received as a gift in 2015. Initially, I had
mixed feelings about it; there was
something I didn't quite like, giving off an
old man or some dated fragrance vibe.
Despite my reservations, I found myself
reaching for it on weekends due to a
lack of alternatives and ended up using
almost the entire bottle over the years.
Nearly nine years later, I revisited this
fragrance, and a flood of memories
associated with it rushed back. It's
remarkable how scents can evoke
memories. While I still don't particularly
like the fragrance, I've decided to keep
the bottle for the nostalgia.
This fragrance was sadly the reason I
never got into perfumes, but on the other
hand I relate an era of my life with it. As I
ran out of it, I bought my second
designer scent: Versace Pour Homme,
which I loved so much I ran through it so
fast and this hobby was born.

Back in 2010 when we first met.
I had a date with a guy and all i could
think about what is this delicious smell.
Elegant, yet seductive, a fragrance that
guides me by my nose.
I loved it outright and was lucky enough
to be invited to the guy's parents for
dinner. Needless to say, his room was
pouring out the fragrance as if it were
coming from the walls and I finally
learned the name of the perfume.
Although it didnt worked with the guy,
but the perfume is the One.

212 was the first designer fragrance I
got. It was a christmas gift. I liked it so
much that it became my signature scent
and for a couple of years never deviated
from that. I know that there was a
reformulation so it is not supposed to
smell as good as it used but I still think it
smells great, fresh and clean. It is a good
overall fragrance that works anytime and
anyplace.

You come here looking for reviews, to
see if you would like to try it or buy it.
But instead, you find it's a parade of
people who know better and had it first
and like to complain and who have
Tourette's disorder making them say
"reformulation" and "used to be" over
and over.
What a drag...
I'd love to read a straightforward review
of the scent as it is, what notes it has at
beginning, middle and end, and maybe a
comment on alternatives or
resemblance.
Wouldn't you?

I'm going to review this base on what i
have experienced before it got
formulated. I can say this one of the
most if not the most underrated
perfume. I cannot find or smelled
anything quiet like it. My most
complimented perfume ever. Before the
reformulation, this perfume can easily fill
a room or to be exaggerated, it can even
fill a circus tent for it's sillage. And not
only that, it last days on clothes and on
skin even after you shower. I hope they
will make an elixir version of this and it
will be a hit for sure.

Recently I was extremely fortunate
enough to pick up a new and sealed
100ml bottle of 2009 formulation and it
smells absolutely phenomenal. When
you smell this formulation again, you
realise how bad the new stuff really is.
What I find with the new formulation, is
to spray it onto your clothing as
opposed to the skin. It definitely smells
better and lasts a lot longer with ok
sillage. Or incorporate the two just to be
sure. Nevertheless, this fragrance is an
absolute must for any guy

I discovered this when my friend
recommended this way back in 2012..
I dont know if it has been degraded or
what because if im not mistaken, this
one was way too good back in 2013..
And now 2023 maybe due to
reformulation, its longevity was way too
light.. (batch 2023)
Really disappointed with the
performance.. the opening was there for
approx 1-2 hours but then disappers into
skin scent

Martxin 11/16/23 04:28
It has been sadly reformulated.
This fragrance was an absolute 10.
Despite being a citrus perfume it had
depth and a very good performance.
Now the aroma is different, it maintains
its DNA, but it is too light... it doesn't last
at all.

Just got a brand new bottle as of
November 2023.
I'm incredibly fond of this scent as it
brings me back to the early 00s, haven't
found anything else quite like it.
I don't think it's dated at all, it's an
incredibly versatile fragrance that can be
worn all year round and would only stick
out later at night or in very cold weather,
it's pretty uplifting overall, has some
qualities of freshly cut grass but sweeter
as previously mentioned in other
reviews. Overall the scent is a keeper.
The main issue here is that the current
performance is mediocre at best on my
skin, it projects very well and I (and other
people) can smell it when I'm moving
around for at least an hour, but then it
turns into a skin scent and not long after
disappears altogether.
I have clear memories of spraying it on
clothes 15+ years ago and having 'em
smell like it for the whole day or even
days after.
If longevity was up to par with the retail
price and legacy of this perfume it would
be an easy recommendation.
At least they kept the sturdy bottle
design, makes you think someone at
marketing realized that watering it down
a lil' bit might encourage people to throw
it inside their backpacks and use it as a
replacement for their deodorant.
share
khungpao 11/10/23 10:18
Great sillage and longevity? I sprayed
like 10 times, ok on the first hour but the
scent was gone after a few more hours! I
smell nothing even when I press my
nose on skin and clothes.
Too bad because it really smells great,
love the green citrus blend. I'm
wondering if I got a bad reformulated
one because everyone's saying the
performance is great.
I'm really disappointed with the
performance. I'll still give it a since I
really like and enjoy the smell of this one.

Giving a thought about 212 Men for the
last years through all my designer
fragrance journey and all the scents I've
put my nose on it, I've come to the
conclusion that to me this is one of the
most underrated designer fragrance I've
ever come across. Yeah, you read it.
Now you can hate on me or whatever
you want. You might think I'm
exaggerating or something. Not at all.
It gives you basically everything you can
ask for a signature-worthy fragrance. It
gives off all-year round versatility and
some uniqueness which if you think
about it, it is REALLY hard having those
2 at once. That's not very common in a
signature scent. There's not many
perfumes out there that smell like 212 or
at least very close to it and its scent
profile hasn't been overused over the
years. Also, it has complexity. It has
projection. It has longevity. It has sillage.
It's a compliment magnet and it costs a
fair price. Only drawbacks you might
consider:
A. It still sells after 20+ years and
therefore it might end up being
somewhat "popular" or "played out".
B. It might not smell as high-quality as
Dior or Chanel. But at the end of the day,
you get what you pay for in that regard
and that's just a fact.
Having mentioned all of this, As I said
previously, it's among the most
underrated scents in the designer realm.
It definitely deserves way more love and
recognition. Nobody in the fragrance
community ever talks about it for some
reason. I guess it is because it's Carolina
Herrera. This community is full of
snobbish and pretentious people who
think they know something. If this were
Chanel every single one of them would
praise the f out of it for centuries. 212 is
not worse than the overpraised Bleu de
Chanel.
10/10 Masterpiece. Best well-balanced
designer perfume. My compatriot
Alberto Morillas did a superb job with

I discovered this as a teen when my
mother's friend gifted me a bottle of it.
So I've been using it since shortly after it
launched. Unfortunately I have noticed
that the reformulations have dropped in
intensity and have slight changes in the
notes that come through, but I always
remember it being intense at first and
then dying down a lot after the dry
down. Although this was long before I
learned anything of nose blindness so
there's a chance I was in fact reeking of
it.
I still rate it as a very classy smell. It's
fresh and crisp, there's a lot of citrus
comes through. It has to my nose some
of the freshness of Aqua di Gio. It's
certainly great for summer although I've
worn it year round. I'm currently
exploring different scents that are
considered similar or in the same kind of
category and there are so many
fragrances that are very similar to one
another but there are very few that I've
tried that have a similar profile to 212.
It's got by far the best sprayer I've ever
used, blasts you. It's like spraying
yourself with a bottle of kitchen cleaner.

212 Men is the missing link between
Alberto Morilla’s CKOne and Mugler
Cologne. If you enjoy those you’ll enjoy
this. CK leans more on the metallic tea
while Mugler plays up the soapy Vetiver.
Both are present here but sit second to
the much-adoed “fresh cut grass”
accord. 212 also bears some similarity to
Creed’s Silver Mountain Water and, I’d
imagine, Original Vetiver (I believe
Morillas is the nose behind both.)
Longevity is spotty but, like most
Morillas creations, it’s meant to be
liberally applied at regular intervals. The
flacon is cool and the sprayer is great.
Very easy to wear; I like it.

WARNING:
new batches might have been hit with a
BRUTAL reformulation.
I was super hype to get this after adding
CH Men to the collection and hearing
about the classy-grassy green vibe and
great performance this was supposed to
come with. Fast forward to me getting
this, and there's quite literally no smell.
No, I'm not the frag noob with 3 bottles
who goes anosmic after a 30 spray dose
then claims the scent disappears; I've
been in the collecting hobby for years
and I'm 200+ bottles in, for reference..
I can spray my hand until the OIL (not
the alcohol) is thick and runny. Even right
under my nose? Quite literally almost no
smell at ALL. I have never in my life,
even the worst, cheapest frags I've ever
gotten, had something with this little
scent.
Maybe I got a bad batch; its like they
literally forgot to add most of the oils.
The extremely vague whiffs I do get,
yeah, its a faint airy-grassy smell, and
that's it. Its like those comments "this is
water", this is as close to "water" as a
frag can be, imo. Be careful getting
newer bottles of this.
(My bottle was purchased off
Fragrancebuy. ca and seems entirely
authentic)
my biggest buy-disappointment ever. I'd
rather have gotten something that
smelled disgusting, at least then I could
have smelled it.

This is such a nice fragrance long lasting
projecting like a beast. i feel like this can
be all year all occasions you cant go
wrong.Even at winter this smells nice
day night doesnt matter . Girls used to
grab me and put their nose in my neck
cuz they got so additced to the smell. i
didnt even expect that from this
fragrance but its a magnet for chicks. I
remember once my friend used to wear
this alot and while i was waiting for him
in a park i just knew he was somewhere
near me cuz i smelled the fragrance from
100 200 meters away and i was like yeah
he will show up now from somewhere
and there he was and as he was walking
the fragrance was projecting more and
more its crazy. It still has a decent price
for a old fragrance and its not cheapy

Definite green grass vibes in the

As someone below mentioned, this has
a metallic and magnet vibe. Out the gate
this reminds me (did see anyone else list)
of Chrome by Azzaro. It does have that
metallic note that for me is a turn off, but
its an easy reach/grab for warm weather.
Basically, cant miss. Im not the biggest
fan but, Imma use it up and smell clean

Bought 8ml of this to sample and I very
pleased. Really love the fragrance. The
sillage is moderate on my skin as is
longevity and I don't spray fragrances on

with other fragrances and/or cause more
spending on dry cleaning. A very fresh
uplifting scent. I recommend it as a blind

Green, citrusy, spicy, smoke is what I get
with this fragrance. Such a classic, and
so easy to wear. It's a very green
fragrance, almost like a cut grass to me
on the opening, so don't blind buy if
that's not what you're into. I really feel
that you can't go wrong with this
fragrance though. For me it works in just
about every situation and in every
season, except maybe winter if it's too
cold. Not sure it's strong enough to cut
through the cold, but when it warms up
outside, boy this fragrance really comes
to life. Definitely has a sporty feel to me,
so I could see this as a gym scent. IMO I
think that this fragrance can be
substituted for Allure Homme Sport Eau
Extreme. Since it's not quite as popular,
you won't smell like every other F Boi in
the room, but just because it may not be
as popular doesn't mean it's not as
good. Allure Sport Extreme is just a little
softer and creamier, where as 212 is a
little sharper throughout. Not much more
to be said, especially considering that
it's a Morillas creation. That basically
tells you everything you need to know. In
closing, buy it. Or don't. Cause then
you'll smell like me, if we were wearing it
at the same time, in the same location.
But what are the chances of that. . Right.
.?

Sporty fresh scent with floral, citrus and
green notes. It has slight sweetness
which make it really sexy. works great in
summer and spring. It is pleasant,
refreshing and will get you noticed. It
may be old and a bit nostalgic but still
gold.

The last perfume I bought blind after a
long time. I bought this for a fresh
summer scent and I was not
disappointed. It takes me back to my
high school days with green grass, citrus
and a hint of spicy florals. Not overly
exciting, but pleasant to dry down.
Perfect for everyday use in the warmer
months. A safe purchase for sporty
flower lovers.

I own a fairly new batch (2020 or 2021)
and performance is surprisingly good. I
also don't detect much violt here, more
is creamy sandalood with bergamot.
Very pleasant, highly recommended
even after 20 years :) 9.0/10

Very sexy, masculine, fresh. I tried it
today and there was much less violet
than I remember, it also felt a bit denser?
It's still good and a classic, very 90's.
Love this on other people, not so much
on me.

Before Covid-19 this colonge smelt so
good I had to have it because of the
compliments. I used to work with mostly
women, but ever time I used to wear this
I only got compliments from Hispanic
women. This colonge kinda smells dated
, it came out in 99 but never smelt it until
2018. It do smells like something made
around that time with a fresh grassy
smell to it.I bought a 6.7 for like $70 if
you can get it for under that go for it.

just the right amount of the citrus notes
and the woody notes compliment them
very well

This great at 2-4 spray and never
more!!!! Last time I spray this 7 times
and all I can smell all day is incense like
Chinese incense they use in their houses
or the place to pray... My friend also said
same thing it smells like incense rather
than grassy fresh like it used to

they can release tons of pubic sweet
flankers of bad boy as long as they still
produce this little ultra-fresh yet

I love linear frageances. This is one of
these linear, well blended scents. It's
spicy, powerful, herbal fresh. No
sweetness. The drydown to my nose
keeps the fresh initial blast and the
peppery notes.
It used to be more powerful i have to
admit, but in my case, it just makes it
more wearable than 20 years ago. I love
this stuff. There is a metallic, magnetic
vibe, something that screams for
freedom.
May it last available for the next 30
years.

I'm a sucker for freshies and I found this
gem just a few days ago, and bought a
200ml bottle. Now my skin burns/eats
fragrances quickly, I moisturise but still,
anyway I read that this performs good
for a fresh fragrance and I always carry a
travel atomiser with me so "I should be
fine" I thought and boy am I pleasantly
surprised. I sprayed 6 times (2 each side
of my neck, 1 back of my neck and 1 on
my chest), usually I spray a lot more with
fresh fragrances in order to have some
performance...I got 1,5 hours of a
nuclear fallout (thank god I didn't have to
meet with people up close) up to the 3rd
hour heavy whiffs whenever I move, now
I'm in the 4th hour still detect it when
moving... you get the idea. I'm in love,
I'm blown away, what sort of a juice was
this before being reformulated?!?! I do
realise that maybe a spray from a 200ml
"jar" gives me more fragrance but as I
said my skin eats them fast and freshies
are pretty weak on me. Anyway forgive
my excitement but right now I'm on
cloud 999.

212 is a flamboyant floral-green scent for
men. This scent will get attention -
sometimes not in a good way.
There's an effervescent quality about it -
the zingy top notes are fizzy and
invigorating. There's a bold floral heart
that may be too vivacious for the
conservative men. It drys down to a
classic Sandalwood base, and the
overall smell is a little generic.
The parts are more interesting than the
sum of it.

Fresh citrus and florals, sweet violet with
an annoying green petigrain that I hate
and makes the fragrance smell too
cheap and synthetic. Not like it would be
good without the petigrain though,
because it still way too floral and violet is
quite a challenging risky note to do well
since it's very sweet but has such a
strange smell that doesn't seem to really
work well with like anything besides like
plum or lavender. But wait even though
there is lavender in here I can't smell any
of it, if they had of completely ditched
the gardenia which comes across as too
overpowering and feminine, then the
violet and lavender could shine more
and be a much better scent. I think it's
too floral, too feminine and I don't get
the hype with this

i had previously used 2 bottles of this
stuff back in 2002 till around 2008-09.
then few months back found a great deal
for a 200ml bottle so pulled the trigger.
usually when i repurchase a fragrance
after some time, the first spray instantly
takes me back to my old memories
associated with it. But here the
reformulation just ruined it for me. its just
a close resemblance to what it used to
be. i remeber getting compliments from
right left and centre from this but this
version hardly lasts couple of hours on
me. seem like an aqua version of its
former self. even after 15-18 sprays this
stuff was gone within 2 and a half hours.
totally not worth the price in this new era
of fragrance. i would suggest bvlgari
glacial essence over this anytime. people
say that bvlgari doesnt last but
compared to this formulation the glacial
essence has more depth character.

As somebody who finds Carolina
Herrera's most popular offerings to be
pretty gauche, 212 Men was never on
my radar. But this composition from
1999 is really bewitching and complex,
even if the formulation has been watered
down over time. The opening contains
hardy green notes and warm spice,
which some say gives the impression of
freshly mown grass. Middle notes are
clear ginger and violet, though the exotic
and unexpected notes of gardenia and
sage really make it fresh-powdery. The
spice persists into a base that does
cover all its bases: masculine musk,
vetiver, incense, guaiac and sandalwood,
and furry labdanum. Like CKOne for the
fall.

212 Men Carolina Herrera has a lovely,
fresh aroma of green. Although it is
vibrant, green, and sporty, it yet exudes
elegance. This is elegant enough for a
formal garden party but suitable for a
backyard barbecue as well. Green
Notes, Grapefruit, Spices, Bergamot,
Lavender, and Petitgrain are found in the
top notes. Ginger, Violet, Gardenia, and
Sage are found in the middle notes.
Musk, Sandalwood, Incense, Vetiver,
Guaiac Wood, and Labdanum are found
in the base notes. Strong and moderate
sillage performance is displayed.
Honest, Reliable, and Consistent.

The nostalgia alone from wearing this
classic is worth it. Back in my Uni days,
just before the millennium, you were
sophisticated if you wore 212 Original.
The formulation in 1999 circa was just
something else - beautiful, elegant, and
compliment grabbing.
I still repurchased the newer
reformulations over the years twice or
thrice as well others from the house of
CH, simply because I can't help myself
from loving how masculine and
gorgeous it smells. A little on the weaker
side with recent formulations, at least on
the most recent one I purchased a
couple of years ago. It's a shame that
the world has now become a breeding
ground for greed with each passing day,
and so watered down formulations by
most brands is a pandemic that isn't
going to get cured.
To me, I'd say this fragrance (212 Men
original) was about 20+ years ahead of
the game when it came out back in the
day.
It's another love for me on this one!

This one has a special place in my heart
and collection. Growing up, I remember
staying over at my grandma's house in
the spring/summer when the gardenias
were in full bloom right outside her
kitchen window. Every morning she'd go
out and snip off a few to bring in, place
them inside a vase, and set it as the
centerpiece on the kitchen nook. The
fresh-cut grass from the neighborhood,
all other flowers in bloom, and the smell
of the orchards nearby must be inside
this bottle. This is one of my wife's
favorite fresh scents and every time I put
it on, I get a blast from the past and a
smile on my face.

I try not to see fragrances just as
compliment seeking products but this
probably is my most complimented
fragrance and has been my second most
worn fragrance for 10+ years. To me this
smells like fresh cut grass with bright
citruses and that characteristic metallic
note. It is polite, not challenging or
invasive and at the same time pretty
classy. Honestly imo this is the ultimate
anytime anywhere fragrance, whenever I
´m not sure what to wear I just pick 212
and know I can´t go wrong. It also has a
really good performance for a freshie, It
lasts long and the projection is right
where it should be.
What really puzzles me with this one is
how it has basically never gotten any
recognition at all by the "fragrance
influencers" I mean sure it smells kinda
synthetic and slightly dated but in the
best possible way. I have had people get
offended with fragrances that are
regarded as ultra-safe compliment
monsters, yet I have never ever had
anyone react negatively to this.

Having living in tropical climate like Bali
has made this my go-to scents.. this one
is good for sunny and sweaty
climate...when got into building with AC
the smell is gone for awhile, but
surprisingly when outdoor in hot weather
the fragrance blooms... i don't know why
many claims this frag is not long -lasting,
on my experience I could smell it even
after 12hrs even after shower, and could
catch some notes while on the bed to
get some zzz.
On my nose this frag is greens not-so
aquatics + citrusy with some light
spiciness ...and I love how this scent
stays citrusy for very long time. And for
me this isn't some boring scent, this frag
is made for people that loves citrusy
aquatic greens category or people that
lives in sunny climate , not for snobs that
would not appreciate this frag category
imo.
So conclusion is this frag is made for
sunny climate or summertime. I could
easily switch to my other fave which is
Chanel allure homme sport or ADG if i
got bored with this one.

I’m gonna keep it short and simple; CH
212 smells like the amalgamation of
every citrusy fragrances in early-
noughties.
Not unique, doesn’t really turn heads,
but it gets the job done.
Green, citrusy, slightly has tea nuance in
it. Great for hot summer day, running
errands or even office. Performance is
bang-average.

Contrary to voting, citrus is not
dominant. This fragrance will make you
feel sporty and a little luxurious. It is
suitable for men under the average age
of 35.
I'm pretty sure it's "Turkish Tea" from
one of the notes described as green
notes. (For those who do not know the
smell of Turkish tea) It is an aromatic
scent that comes out when bergamot
peel and exotic green leaves are dried.
The scent has a tea scent, which makes
it unique.
I feel a fresh and slightly spicy scent.
Spices are similar to rosemary and
ginger spice. It's a refreshing spice that's
not irritating. At the bottom, there is a
smoky vanilla scent.
The fragrance is generally aromatic,
sugary and slightly spicy. It is quite
unique. It's hard to come across an
imitation.
It stays on fabric for more than 8 hours.
It stays on the skin for up to 4 hours. The
projection and sillage ratio is not bad.

my father's birthday. He liked it for the
fresh and spicy smell and especially the
lavender, bergamot and grapefruit smell
which comes from the top notes. Also
the middle and the bottom notes are
smelly. In fact, this perfume is more
suitable for a man in his 50s and 60s,
since my dad is in that age group. It's
gentle perfume, not much strong, I
recommend to buy 50ml just for
springtime, but if you wanna wear it in

larger bottle.

The deeper you get into fragrances, the
more you find what fits or works best for
you. There was a time when this was in
my top five fragrances. Perhaps as the
years go by one's tastes may deviate a
bit, or your body chemistry changes. CH
212 Men is really a classy signature-
worthy fragrance. But it's one I am
leaving behind.
I no longer enjoy that grassy, fresh scent
as much as I did. Wearing this recently
made me see how "synthetic" a
fragrance it is. I don't say this often but it
gave me a headache wearing it, and I felt
like it made its way to the back of my
throat. Quite uncomfortable. The dry-
down settled into something reminiscent
of strong body odour at times, and it got
me wondering if people around me were
smelling this as well. I hope they weren't.
God, I hope!
Despite my recent disappointment CH
212 Men gets top marks for what I
remember it to be. This fragrance gave
me some unforgettable memories, and
transports me to a more carefree time of
my life. I kissed a lot of girls while
wearing this one, and I'm convinced the
scent still has that alluring, sexy quality.
Please don't be discouraged by my
recent experience with 212 Men. It's not
the fragrance, it is me. I have changed -
I'd like to think for the better. This
legendary fragrance played a starring
role in my life, and I hope it will in yours,
too.

It's a pleasant scent overall. Smells
cologne-y, smells aquatic. Sometimes a
bit icy or mentholated. A bit spicy. I
guess you might consider it "green", but
it doesn't really remind me of the world
of plants. It's not burning my nose or
giving me a headache, but the overall
effect is a bit harsh and synthetic to me.
I find I am going nose-blind to it rather
quickly, though others are smelling it
more clearly. Some fragrances have me
smelling my shirt all day. I don't think this
will be one of them. I am ready to move
on after a couple of hours.

First impressions. The spice must flow.
A rather moist and overgrown lawn is

SAVORY.
Be damned if I can pick up base notes at
all and it doesn't last long. Brand new

212 is one of my favorites. This
fragrance is very nostalgic for me, I’ve
been wearing it since release. This
fragrance is loud, bursting with green
citrus, and musky woody notes. I’d say
it’s very unisex, smells great on anyone.
It can be overpowering and fill a room,
so I’d suggest experimenting with
sprays. Tends to work better in the
warmer months, but this can easily be
worn all year round. Signature scent
worthy for sure. I prefer this original 212
compared to all the flankers. Since this
released over 20 years ago I would
highly suggest it for a younger guy.
Nobody will be wearing this in your high
school or college, surly you’ll stand out
over the boring bleu craze. For a
designer fragrance 10/10

love to smell on her men. The silage is
super monstrous and lasts like forever
on clothes (as on my pillow, the scent
remains for many days). This is super
fresh, green and sporty one that is

along with decent floral vibe. The
accumulative feel is of a gentleman. I

I used to wear 212 way back when. I
was feeling nostalgic and picked up a
new bottle recently. After spraying, I
thought: why did I ever stop wearing
this? It's beautiful...it smells even better
than I remember. It's fresh, green, and
sporty, but still has an elegant quality
about it. This is nice enough for a fancy
garden party, but equally appropriate for
a backyard barbeque.
I live in the hot California desert where
the temps are scorching right now. 212
is a perfect hot weather fragrance and
super easy-to-wear. This scent still holds
up after all these years. I'm glad I got
reacquainted with this old friend. Love
this stuff.

I took the time to revisit this perfume. My
initial thoughts were that it was
"okay/average". Now I've changed my
mind. This is a great fresh scent. It
actually lasts long, 8hours+. The
grapefruit/citrus note is awesome! One
feels energized after taking in this scent.
The musk, sage and lavender are also
noticeable.
- Season: One can wear this fragrance
during spring, summer and during mild
autumn/fall seasons.
- Day/Night: You can wear it any time of
the day, however, this works best during
the day.
- Age: this fragrance can span a wide
age range - from the early 20s to late
40s/early50s.
- Location: This can be worn
comfortably pretty much anywhere - the
office/work, school, the gym, etc.
However, I think there are better options
for a night out, date night, or similar
occasions.
- Rating: 7.5/10
- Signature notes: in my opinion, the
grapefruit + green notes stand out head
& shoulders for me.

This is one of my favorite Fragrances of
all time. Also happens to be another one
created by master Perfumer Aberto
Morillas. Unfortunately it was
reformulated so the performance is
nothing like it used to be, but the scent
itself doesn't seem to be too terribly
different thankfully. You can still get
excellent performance by simply
overspraying a bit. Overall I'd say it's still
a great buy even in 2021 so long as you
can get it for a decent price. The
memories from this scent alone make it
worth always having for me.

At first, I really didn't like this fragrance
much at all. However, after wearing it a
little, it really has started to grow on me!
The opening is a little harsh if you're not
expecting it. Fragrantica lists this as a
citrus fragrance, but the green notes are
most prominent for me. Since it caught
me off-guard, it almost reminded me of...
grass. However, it really grew on me and
it's a lot more pleasant than my first
impression.
As it progresses into the mids and base
notes, it settles really nicely! The citrus
dies down, and the spices and musky
notes come out, giving off a certain city
vibe to it. I've never been to New York,
but this fragrance definitely makes me
think of the Bay Area, the BART train,
and the fog in the summertime.
This fragrance is definitely really
summery, fresh, retro, and energizing.
Throughout hotter months I could
definitely use this as a dumb reach. It
really gives off that 90's GQ attitude!
This fragrance has average performance
with like 5-6 hours, which is about all
you need to ask of it. Considering it's
strictly a daytime fragrance, something
for after the gym or something before a
nice meeting, it's nice for it not to linger
too long and make way for a night out
fragrance.
overall, it's a good fragrance. Blind buy
safe in my opinion. If you don't like it,
you know someone who does. 4/5

about it is it has the uniqueness of
Burberry touch’s fresh soapy powder
without over doing it making it a perfect

I was with a friend when they bought this
in 2012, right around the time Azealia
Banks song '212' was released. I
thought they were related. They're not,
thank goodness.
This scent is citrus and green right from
the onset, with just a smudge of
lavender to smooth down the bite from
the citrus. I don't pick up any spice
notes at all.
In the dry-down I get the flower notes,
which add an even deeper sense of
being in a meadow or a glade, and just
the faintest hintof ginger.
When this bottoms out, which takes a
while, the wood notes, particularly the
sandalwood, come properly into
existence.
Throughout the life of this perfume the
citrus and lavender never disappear,
which makes this a perfect scent for hot
climates and sunny days. I find it a little
too fresh for Autumn, though. I would
call this 'buoyant' and 'juicy'.
This is definitely a scent for men from
their early 20' s to early 30's. You can
wear this to the office or the gym or out
for errands or meetings. Definitely grab
this if you don't know what to wear. 212
is a bit too common now to ever be
considered niche, but you'll never go
wrong with it.
Projection is strong, sillage is moderate
and it easily lasts the whole day.

I remember years ago spraying this in an
airport in Spain thinking “im not that into
it, smells a bit too grassy for me” I got a
compliment in the airport but didn’t think
anything of it as it was only one person.
anyways about an hour later forgetting
I’d even sprayed it on I boarded my flight
and as soon as I stepped on the plane
the cabin crew were telling me how good
I smelled and were asking what I was
wearing. I think this is one of those
fragrances that smells better on other
people than on yourself and it’s definitely
suited to warmer weather. Looking back
I should have bought a massive bottle
just because of compliments alone.. I’m
gonna buy some for this summer just to
see if it has the same reaction.

Good and relevant still for summer or
warmer weather. But feel overpriced for
the performance it has, considering how
fragrances cheaper are performing now
a days with better projection and
longevity. Opening as green as it can get
and still smell too good.. that's it
performance could have been better, in
the end it is a summer fragrance and
must give Better performance during hot
and humid days.
Now a days brands are cashing on the
brand legacy and loyalty, but customer is
hardly getting products that meet
expectations. Reformulation just ruins
the brand loyalty and makes customer
move away and explore options. It's just
shooting in the foot.
Having said that it is safest fragrance
and no offending. Dry down is musky, as
someone noted. Best for office as well,
since it is toned down and doesn't
project much. If one gets cheaper deals
must buy. IMHO it is one of the top 5
fragrance of all time for me. As
personally fond of summer fragrances
since live in warmer country.

This is a cool fragrance. It is fresh and
the sweet scents hit you. The musk
comes through after a while. Definitely a
scent that one can wear everyday during

a day game perfume. It lasts for quite a
while - not as long as JPG's Le Male, but
it is good enough.

I've already reviewed 212 before, but my
review was based on the original (pre-
reformulation) version.
Last week I got my hands on a new
bottle (a 2019 batch manufactured by
Puig), first of all the box has changed,
the name is now "212 MEN NYC"
instead of "212 MEN" on the old box,
the bottle itself is much lighter and of
slightly cheaper quality than the old one.
As for the scent, I'd say it's about 60-
70% similar to the old formulation, it's
still amazing but not quite as good as it
used to be, something is missing.
Performance wise, the longevity is still
very good, it will last you the whole day
without any issues, the projection is
definately much more weaker than the
old formulation, after about 1-2 hours it
will start sitting closer to the skin than it
used to be.
Overall, this is still one of the best office
(aka. every day) fragrances ever created,
it's still a masterpiece.

Recently reacquainted myself with this.
Was one of my go-to fragrances early in
my professional life. Nice to say its still
mostly the same as a I remember it -- a
spicy citrus that I would wear anytime
except the colder months. I notice now it
also has the Ginger note, which is
probably why I like it -- one of my all-
time favorites is BLV from BVLgari. I
loved this then, and I still like it a lot now.
Its still very unique, a citrus with an
identity all its own. Its a strong "like" --
not a "love" -- because my nose has
since then kind of, well, slightly changed.
Still, this performs moderately well,
lasting at least 4 hours. Not as strong
with projection as I remember it, but you
can feel it as an aura for most of its
duration.

I love this one. When it came out, my
GBF at the time (although he wasn't yet
out, to himself or anyone else) wore this.
Oh Chris, he had and has the best taste.
This scent reminds me of talking on the
phone (a landline! people did that!) and
singing RENT together. Roll neck
sweaters from J. Crew. Aubergine low
top Doc Martens. Dave Matthews Band.
It's so crisp and green and energetic but
without being annoying about it. It's not
your peppy friend who always invites
you on 5am runs as if you're the type of
person to do that. The incensey,
sandalwood drydown is comforting and
reminds us that relax, we're all people.
It's clean and classic and doesn't seem
dated in the way some colognes from
the late 90s can.
I don't think I've ever had an intimate
friendship like I had with Chris. How
many people have you honestly sang
songs over the phone with? I mean,
really. Too bad he lives in LA now and
works at a Barry's Bootcamp. But I'll
always have those memories. It's been
11,571,120 minutes since I last
remember smelling this scent and I miss
it. Maybe I'll impulse buy it when I'm at
the outlets and can hit up Perfumania.
Today for you, tomorrow for me!

This is a first impression: i purchased a
Jan 2020 batch from a Ross near me. I
checked the batch code on line,
inspected box and bottle. I'm pretty sure
i have a legit fragrance. I sense none of
the notes cited in these reviews, except
maybe the floral and woody notes.
This is a nothing but a sandalwood
prominent fragrance, I'm getting like 75
percent sandalwood. i know this
fragrance is loved in the frag community
but so far I don't share in the fondness
for this. unless Im just super sensitive to
sandalwood.
I will get some more wear to see if this

This is a soft but powerful, sweet, green,
citrus scent...
The citrus is most prominent in the
opening for me and although it is
technically grapefruit and bergamot, it
comes across more like lemon to me.
There is also a mild, nondescript spice
throughout but the main player for me is
MUSK. Ginger comes in into the dry
down but that musk is always there. And
it's a powdery, almost nauseatingly
sweet musk so I really have to be in the
right mood and definitely better for
cooler weather. If you overspray this stuff
in the summer it will make your stomach
turn...but fresh enough to pull off in the
heat in moderation.
212 Men is a classic and for that, I
respect it. You can see where fragrances
like A&F Fierce drew it's inspiration from.
They don't necessarily smell similar but
they are definitely in the same lane.
Fierce is more woodsy and rich and 212
Men is more soft and powdery but they
both have that sickeningly sweet musk...
It may sound like I hate it, I don't. I just
have to be in the mood and go easy on
the trigger. And not because it's such a
beastly performer, because of the notes.
I just have to tread lightly. Performance
is a pretty lackluster in the new
formulation at least...
Reminds me of my youth but I must say,
the ladies tend to like it..

Starts off very synthetic, almost copy
room ozonic, but quickly reveals:
grapefruit, lime, lavender, and green
elements.
Settles down rather quickly and gently
into labdanum and faint incense of
sandalwood.
This projects citrusy/ozonic for only the
first hour and then drys down in a
comfortable/agreeable
labdanum/incense scent that delivers its
user a calm, confident feeling. I have
worn this fragrance for 20 years now,
and while I am no longer young, it
reminds me of my younger days, but not
in a way that makes me self-conscience
that others will think I am trying to be a
young guy again. It adapts to age very
well. The scent doesn't take itself too
serious yet has qualities hard to find in
cheap fragrances. If those are are the
kind of fragrances you like, it won't let
you down!

This is a lovely break from some of the
day scents with citrus and the like. This
illicits a fresh crisp feel without that
citrus vibe. Its like electrified cool fresh
cut grass and rain/meadows. If fresh
rains and meadows in heaven had a
smell this is what it might smell like. I
love this stuff and so do my gal friends. I
just wish it lasted longer than 2-3 hours.
I usually have a 5ml and hit the neck line
after lunch if I have meet and greets
later.
Best for office and day wear. Nighttime is
not probably the best idea.

Carolina Herrera 212 Men EDT opens
with a moderate projection of soft
spices, green, and floral notes. The
opening is light, common, the notes are
sharp but soft, mostly green, and fresh.
The green notes are the most noticeable,
a scent evocative dense green foliage;
the spices are a sharpening note, a
blend of multiple spicy notes without a
specific facet. The fragrance contains
other very soft notes, some floral, citrus,
musk, and woody, but they are all faint
and almost indistinguishable from each
other. As the fragrance commences to
dry-down, the notes lose most of their
initial sharpness, the fragrance loses its
initial moderate projection receding just
to a personal space. Once Carolina
Herrera 212 Men EDT has reached its full
dry-down, it can be summarized as a
soft projection, green and spicy
fragrance with some citrus, floral, woody,
and musky accords. The fragrance feels
breezy, casual, inexpensive, diluted,
disappointing, diurnal, faint, fresh, green,
masculine, modern, slightly musky,
poorly-blended, short-lived, weak, and
barely pleasant.
BATCH REVIEWED: 2020.
WOW RATING: 2/10. A mostly green,
very faint fragrance, unimpressive.
DISLIKE RATING: 1/10. The green
foliage-like note is the most noticeable
accord, but very soft.
UNIQUENESS: 3/10. Green fragrances
are very common.
MASS APPEAL: 5/10. A faint fragrance
that won’t offend and won’t please.
PROJECTION: 1/10. Very low, a personal
space light fragrance.
SILLAGE: 1/10. Very low, almost none.
APPLICATION: 8 atomizations.
LONGEVITY: 3/10. Low, about 3 hours,
without projection, mostly a skin scent.
SEASONS: Spring, fall.
OCCASIONS: Outdoor gatherings,
office, casual. This is an office-friendly
fragrance.
VERSATILITY: 4/10. A very light
fragrance, better suited for mild weather,
not summer or winter.
GENDER: Masculine, but not for much.
AGES: Any.
RECOMMENDATION: Carolina Herrera
212 Men EDT can be purchased for
about $40, its performance is very poor,
a fragrance ideal for those that may
prefer a very personal green and light
fragrance. For others, this one you may
want to skip.

Like fresh cut grass..
This review is way overdue.. Carolina
Herrera, you nailed this one! I have been
wearing this since out of high school..
Decided to buy this because I really liked
this back in the day and now I seem to
love it even more.. This is a
spring/summer staple in my collection
and in a lot of my 10 lists, including 10
frags for life and 10 favorite of all time..
The presentation is really cool and kind
of different.. it is a metallic canister with
the 212 and MEN part of the glass that is
covered by the metallic canister.. The
canister is topped with a very magnetic
cap..the bottle is really cool looking and
in my mind one of the nicest
presentations in my collection..
212 Men has a grassiness to it that is
really nice.. This makes me think of
spring and summer relaxing outside with
a drink in my hand.. The grassy note is
very prominent in the opening.. As this
dries down I get a fizzy ginger kinda like
ginger ale.. I can smell this for days.. If I
lived in a warmer climate I could wear
this year around.. my collection wouldn’t
be so big..Longevity and projection are
both decent.. made for any age but I
only wear this in the warm weather..

I think this is an all-time classic. I don't
know what people are complaining
about, I have been buying this for around
15 years and while the smell might
change time after time a little bit, nothing
radical. It stays in my collection all the
time even though I do not wear it that
often anymore.
On my skin the longevity, projection and
sillage remained the same basically
throughout the whole time, which is kind
of monstrous. It lasts easily the whole
day, on clothes it even stays after a nice
40 degree washing program. On the
performance front I just would like to say
that every single time I wear it, I come
home from work like 12 hours after
spraying and my fiancee knows I arrived
home even if she does not hear me,
because the scent fills the whole house.
I honestly think people are either buying
fake crap or really like to complain,
because for me this is one of the
fragrances that really remained basically
the same for a veery veery long time.
Just not as fashionable anymore :)

In 2003, I fell quite passionately in love
with a man I worked with who wore this
fragrance. It had immense sillage and I
knew when he was in the building,
because I could smell it. Sadly, the
relationship foundered, although I still -

Excellent Jack of all trades kind of frag.
It gets the job done in any situation or
weather you need. Totally linear smell of
caramel (the result, to my nose, of this
super sweet grapefruit). I don't get no
wood, no flowers, no nothing else really.
Really simple freshie, with no complex
isolable notes. The aroma has quality
and, subjectively speaking, I really like it

Love this juice! The atomizer lets out a
burst of freshness and this juice gives
you confidence and enthusiasm from the
start. Its a very pleasant cologne,
suitable for outdoors, in the office if not
sprayed on too much, or even date
nights walking through the city. Very
clean, inoffensive, has a sexy factor to it.
Not sure I understand all the lackluster
reviews on it, but what remains true is-
not everyone has the same taste or body
chemistry, therefore I can empathize, just
like how I didnt like dior homme even
though everyone praises it.
If freshies work well on you, you will get
many compliments on this one, its very
clean and aromatic. My only advice is to
get a small bottle from a discounter for
under $30 to start, see if you like it, and
if you do, it will he something nice that
you can dumb reach for that not many
other people will be wearing.

Nothing special in this one, but it's really
fresh. Actually this is pretty standard
fresh for me and I've smelled similar
fresh scents in cheaper products like
shampoos.
It's a good scent for summer days when
you want to continue that shower fresh
scent for longer period of time. This will
not make you stand out, but most likely
people are thinking that you smell good.
It's not masculine fragrance so it may
smell girly to some people, but for me
it's neutral.
This can be easily worn in multiple
situations and price isn't too bad.
Although there are other fresh scents,
which have more character. I think that's
why this isn't so popular, but this is one
of the most pleasant fresh fragrances
I've smelled.
Some people are saying that it's
annoying smell and I can get that, if you
have to smell it closely. It has lot of citrus
and it has similar effect on your nose like
original Aqua di gio. I don't think this is a
problem in most of the situations,
because it does this only if you stick
your hand (or where ever you sprayed it)
on your face.

I'm not a big fan of the top/opening note
as it sometimes push girls away, but the
dry down is really good. It's floral and
really pumps up your day. It's not for
everyone to like. I just wear this just
because I like its smell on me.

I will try and give my thoughts on the
once great 212, once my signature, once
the most unique powerhouse on the
market.
Let's just say this fragrance is Dracula,
years ago he was handsome, dashing,
charming, mysterious and confident. The
fragrance was a sexy beast and packed
a punch. Still Dracula, but sadly
everyone is stood around grasping
wooden stakes. The end is surely nigh.
This poor fragrance has been
reformulated so many times, it is now
officially a living tragedy, quite sad, how
long til it disappears to the knacker's
yard.
The notes hang together on a very loose
thread, I am sorry, but I wore this year in
year out. What now passes for 212 is
tragic. Look for vintage, don't waste your
bucks on it.

I immediately liked 212 Men when I first
tried it several years ago; felt that it was
a really solid Spring/Summer daytime
fragrance and purchased a bottle. Sadly,
when I started wearing it the green/grass
accords just struck me a being a little
odd, so this fragrance gathered dust in
the back of my Scent Armory....
...until last year when I started wearing it
again, and fell in love with that
fresh/green grassy accord. Just a terrific
Spring/Summer office fragrance that I
enjoy wearing very much. Amazing how
our noses change, yet the fragrance
remains the same. Go figure!
Regardless, 212 lasts 5-6 hours and
projects moderately on my skin, which is
perfect for this type of scent. I find 212
to be a great daytime scent with more of
a clean, classic and professional edge to
it, but it does have some alluring, playful,
casual charms to it as well.
Overall, I really enjoy this very green
scent, but highly suggest you try before
you buy. Cheers!

Beautiful! This is a real "oldie but goldie"
type of scent! Starts off really green, but
then it dries down to a sweet dry
peppery smell that lasts you the whole
day and more. I was pleasantly surprised
by the performance of this fragrance!
Glad to have it in my collection!

I agree with ajay below, 212 opens with a
grassy explosion that at first is
unpleasant but then the drydown is
really nice. It's a perfect fresh office
scent. The green notes here are very
unique, I didn't think that a fragrance
evoking a blade of grass to my nose
would be enjoyable but surprisingly this
just works. Projection is moderate, but
the longevity has to be greater than
anything I've worn to date. I swear I still
detected the scent on my arm after 2
days. This may be a difficult one to wash
off.

I also have to note that the green vibe
here is so different than regular greens
you may think, it has mysterious moody
dark side which much fits with a chaiotic
windy-rainy-cloudy atmosphere of a
spring's afternoon twilight when you
immersed in your melancholic mood. It
really helps you to reach harmony and
unity with the spring's wild nature
and get rid of depression.

After 20 years of production CH 212
NYC men is still modern and never
looses its attraction. The green and
herbal notes are so special and
mysterious that even the master
perfumer Alberto Morillas didn't
explained details of these "Green notes".
by the way this amazing balanced herbal
scent sits right between the freshness of
its citrus and warmth of its pepper ,like
the spring's moderate atmosphere
among extreme hotness of summer and
the coldness of winter.
The quality and longevity of this perfume
is far beyond than today's regular
designery perfumes and is much
respected than many of niche ones.
For sure this fantastic perfume is for
those who contemplate in moderateness
and greenliness of the magical spring.
Simply I love it*********************

An absolute classic, you can never go
wrong with 212.
I've tried my fair amount of fragrances
and this one is by far the best office
(aka. every day) fragrance.
I don't know about the new formulation
but this used to be a performance beast
which will most probably get you
compliments every time you wear it.
For me, it is really underrated by the
fragrance community.

This is more of a nostalgia thing for me.
Was the first fragrance I was ever
bought, by my mother actually! It was
back in '06, I was just starting high
school and smelling clean and fresh in
the hot summer.
Reformulation has taken away some of
the greenness in the mid but it's very
much still there in the opening. Dries
down to a clean pleasent musk skin
scent. Lovely metallic vibe to this too.
Projection on my skin in the heat is
impressive. Longevity from around 5-8
hours. This will always be one of my top
designer summer scents.

Had a decant of this to try out, and while
I love the scent itself, the performance
was lackluster on my skin.
Never got the fresh cut grass vibe like so
many others. In fact I got no trace of
green notes at all. On me, this was all
grapefruit, ginger, and spices. Which is
delicious, but I smelled zero base notes,
and the scent disappeared within 1 to 2
hours. Which is a damn shame, because
it’s a great smell.
It’s a like for me, but not a love, and
based on my experience, I wouldn’t buy
a full bottle. I’d spring for another decant
to try it again though.

“Citrus-y. Mowed. Grass.”
Bottle & Background: I purchased a 3.4
oz bottle blindly about 2 years ago for a
good deal. My bottle is approximately
half full. I originally purchased it because
I liked the idea of a green grass
fragrance. I love landscaping and taking
care of my lawn in the Spring/Summer
so I was instantly intrigued. The design
of this bottle is simple if not a little plain.
But the bottle itself is really great! I really
like the feel of this bottle in my hands.
The lid fully removes and has a magnetic
catch when it’s reattached. The sprayer
is really good, too. You get strong sprays
when you apply it!
Smelling it: When I spray this I’m
immediately hit with a spicy synthetic
chemical blast. But the scent settles
quickly into a citrus-y fresh green grass
scent. It doesn’t exactly smell like
mowed grass- more of an impression of
grass if that makes sense. It reminds me
a little of Chrome Legend if you removed
that signature metallic note.
Wearing it: I like to spray this on my
wrists, sides, one spray on chest and
one on the back of my neck. Six sprays
total. The scent projects initially projects
very strongly. After about 4 hours
performance sharply declines on my
skin. By hour 6 it’s only at skin level. And
the fragrance ends before hour 8.
Verdict: 6.8/10
I like to wear this fragrance during the
day, when the weather is warm and I
know I’m gonna be outside. I think the
green note works especially well when
I’m gonna be out and around grass.
Cookouts, tailgates, family picnics,
outdoor graduations/weddings, etc. I’ve
never gotten many compliments when
I’m wearing it but I enjoy the scent more
in those environments. It’s not a very
versatile fragrance and it doesn’t
perform as well as I’d like it to. For that
reason I can’t reach for it as much as I’d
like. But it is a pleasant scent that won’t
offend anyone.

I don't get the "fresh cut grass" vibe that
some people get from this fragrance.
When I think of grassy scents I think of a
very green, sharp and slightly vegetal
kind of vibe. 212 is none of that. It's
more of a clean, fresh, slightly soapy
kind of green. It's very smooth, light and
non-offensive with a touch of sweetness,
and I think lavendar and something spicy
in the top notes. The dry down smells so
clean and summery, and I think that's
where some people get the "freshly cut
grass" vibe. It's in the same vein as
Mugler Cologne which is my
spring/summer signature scent after my
workout at the gym. However, Mugler
kills 212 in performance. At least with my
nose.
If 212 got me better performance it
would be equally loved as Mugler, and
perhaps even more loved because the
scent is truly amazing for the 30-60
minutes it lasts. Much more sexy than
Mugler.
BTW I'm not asking much for
performance. I don't need 8+ hours. I'd
be happy with 2-3 hours because I could
always reapply 2-3 times later in the day.
For me, 212 turns into a skin scent
within the hour. That's just unacceptable.
Maybe I got a fake or bad batch.
Anybody else get pitiful performance
with 212 Men? I have the one with NYC
on the bottle. Maybe the VIP release is
better?

If ever a fragrance has come to mind,
and unfortunately there are quite a few
now, that truly epitomizes my complete
and utter discust at fragrance
reformulation it has to be 212 Men - pre
212 nyc men formulation of current.
Lets take another step back in time to
when I orginaly came accross and
bought this fragrance, it was 2007 when
I first caught a whiff of the sheer grassy
smelling freshess and just utter quality
green scent that this fragrance used to
be.
I remember walking past my managers
office in the small hallway outside
catching strong whiffs of this, the
fragrance he was wearing, literally
booming off his skin and filling all
surrounding space.
I struggle to put into words just how
awsome this fragrance used to be, how
powerful it was and the love it got. Hours
and hours of longevity and projection
through the roof. Everything I miss and
now struggle to find from fragrances
today.
Call me selfish but I want reaction, If I
pay good money for my fragrance I want
others to smell it. I want it to be powerful
enough to hit them in the face and if I
want to tone the projection down a little,
then just use half a spray like we used to
be able to do back in the day before the
mass reformulations took place from
2010 onwards.
But guess what???
Thats all gone and now we are left with
another fragrance totally watered down,
lacking any kind of a punch and its
magic and what I consider quality totally
vanished, abit like this fragrances current
formulation after 2 hours on my skin, in
with mass pleasing barely detectable,
non offensive neutered skin scent
rubbish that this is now.
Ifra = Trash!!!

CH 212 is a classic....and beautiful-
sensual type of cologne. That's
appropriate for most any situation, and
excellent for the office, dates, and
formal/casual occasions. CH 212
performs like a stunner in hot/humid
temperatures...so this could easily be in
one's summer/spring rotation.
CH 212 reminds of of Creed Silver
Mountain Water, without the "ink" notes,
and with a slight infusion of spices. So I
get how people think it's a bit too
feminine...but boy, CH 212 has been
formulated to near perfection for its
genre of cologne. CH 212 still smells
relevant despite how long ago it was
released!

This is a nostalgic scent for me as I
remember smelling this on people in the
early to mid-2000's. I think I even stole a
few sprays from my friends Dad because
this was his signature scent for about 5
years lol I finally purchased this as an
adult hoping to have that same feeling
that was present when I initially noticed
it...Yeah, that didn't happen, I absolutely
overdid it on the trigger and regretted
every minute afterward SMH This is
horrible IMO if you overspray. The scent
is light and pretty green-floral and the
notes really do shine brightly. There is a
touch sweetness in a nectar from a
flower type, not really a gourmand
sweetness. I now stick to 3 sprays (1 on
forearm and pat with the other, and 2 on
each side of the neck) and I'm golden
with an above average projection, no
headache as the scent is still pretty light
but noticeable. Overall good Summer
daytime scent that is a compliment
worthy if used right.

Great stuff! I bought a tester for cheap
and it's become my new dumb reach
fragrance. I somehow missed this in its
heyday, but better late than never. Very
smooth, green and clean musk that's still
pretty relevant. Here's the trick to
increasing longevity on this one: spray 3
times, wait 10-15 minutes, spray 2 more
times in same area, walk out the door.
Enjoy!

Updated review.
I have come to realize that this scent is
even better than I thought.
I have come to another conclusion that
is not so good. That realization is that
this scent is feminine, I thought it was
unisex , but it does not have enough of a
aquatic, salty or green focus or smell to
be a manly aquatic. It smells innocent
and rather pretty on my skin.
I think this is a perfect 18 year old
women semi formal fragrance and to me
is a designer version of byredo gypsy
water.
OLD REVEIW
A great grassy aquatic and it might be a
hidden gem.
I get 6 hours longevity and moderate
projection.
A more modern, brighter Davidoff Cool
Water.
Recommended and a step up from basic
aquatics.

I recently bought a sample from a large
retailer in Europe, it's the edition with
NYC on the box, probably recently
made(2016 or 2017)
The scent is ok, but nothing
extraordinary. I was looking for
something like Lacoste
Essential(somthing fresh and "green"),
but with better performance and based
on notes and reviews I thought 212 Men
would be a good contender - well, it's
not very similar, I like Essential better,
but there's something I found very
surprising about 212 Men(current
reformulation at least) at least compared
to what many reviews say:
Performance is AWFUL! Freshly applied
on (my) skin, projection is about 30-40
cm. It can be sniffed from that distance
for about 30 min - 1 hour. In approx. 2
hours it's a skin scent that's almost
entirely gone! I think it's even worse than
Lacoste Essential, which is known to
have poor performance.

A perfume that speaks itself. An
Awesome creation by Alberto Morillas in
collaboration with Rosendo Mateu and
Ann Gottlieb. This was my signature
scent for so many years and I still have 3
bottles, so much love & respect for this
beauty.
The initial blast of spices, freshness,
greenness & muskiness total paralyzed
me when I wore for the very first time &
since then I love it. Whenever I was/am
wearing it, people noticed my presence
in office. Interesting it also leave traces
for hours. I am disappointed for its
reformulation by watering down its
spiciness and freshness.

sampled once and felt it was fbw.
However after owning a full bottle for
about 3 years I have only worn this
maybe 4 times. The last time I wore it
which was about a month ago I realized
why it had been so long since I wore it.
This fragrance on my skin is extremely
perfumey and way too floral a very
feminine scent. Also it is strong and I
mean very strong. I developed a
headache the last time I wore it and that
was only from one spray. I say all of that
to say it doesn't smell bad, but it's too
feminine for me and induces headaches.
Needless to say I will not be wearing this

discovered that I don't really like the dry
down especially on clothes. It makes me
feel nauseated. I ended up returning the
bottle.
So my advice is that you probably need
to stay away from spraying on your
cloths.

The scent, which I have now purchased
for the first time, is surprising and rather
pleasantly so. It does not so much
remind me of a mowed lawn in saturated
green, as sometimes referred to, rather a
sweet tea which was brewed using that
very grass and a few delicate white
flowers. A comfortable and lovingly
embracing scent, which seems to be
neither particularly complex, nor plainly
simple. Even though there appear to be
aspects about it which hint towards
perhaps a shower gel.
