The function of the Software Pin Programming (SPP) broadcasting application is to give
aircraft configuration data to the aircraft systems.

The function of the SPP broadcasting application is to give aircraft configuration data to
avionics Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and applications, called subscribers. The SPP
broadcasting application is hosted in the Avionics Server Function Cabinet (ASFC) and
uses SPP software components, which contain:
- General aircraft configuration parameters
- Installed options
- System configuration parameters.
The SPP software components are uploaded through the Data Loading and Configuration
System (DLCS) application to the ASFC. In the ASFC, they are recorded as SPP files in
the SPP broadcasting-application partition-disk.
The SPP broadcasting application makes a copy of the SPP files in messages and sends
them:
- Directly to the ASFC applications
- To the two Secure Communication Interfaces (SCIs) through Ethernet buses. The

SCIs are routers which send the SPP messages to:
- The avionics LRUs that use ARINC 429 buses
- The avionics LRUs that have an Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet
(AFDX) interface
- The Open world Server Function Cabinet (OSFC) applications.
When the SPP broadcasting application is unserviceable, a dispatch message is shown
through the Flight Warning System (FWS).

The SPP broadcasting application has interfaces with:
- The two SCIs through Ethernet buses (Ref. SD A350-A-46-1X-XX-01ZZZ-04CZ-
A). The SCIs send the SPP messages to:
- The avionics LRUs through the ARINC 429 buses and the AFDX network
- The OSFC through Ethernet buses.
- The DLCS application (Ref. SD A350-A-45-46-XX-01ZZZ-04CZ-A) for uploading of
the SPP software components
- The Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) application (Ref. SD A350-A-
45-31-XX-01ZZZ-04CZ-A) for SPP value display.

When the aircraft is energized, the SPP broadcasting application sends the SPP
messages to all the subscribers.
The SPP messages contain the aircraft and system functional configurations.
Each subscriber reads the SPP message and selects its applicable pin programming
data.

The maintenance crew can get access to the SPP values on the Onboard Maintenance
Terminal (OMT) through the ACMS pages (Ref. SD A350-A-45-31-XX-01ZZZ-04CZ-A).
