Imagine sailing a boat with the anchor down or driving a car with the
emergency brake on. It’s counterintuitive and dangerous, right? This
mirrors us trying to live our lives while carrying the weights of our past,
while pursuing God.

As Christians, we’re new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17). Our spiritual DNA

changes, making us “sons of God.” We become dwelling places for God’s
spirit, affecting our body, soul, and spirit. As 1 Corinthians 6:19 reminds
us, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who
is in you, whom you have received from God?”

Our understanding of God’s Word deepens, developing our faith. We

start resembling our heavenly Father spiritually, embodying Jesus’
attributes and the Holy Spirit’s fruit.

Hebrews 12:1-2 urges us to “strip off every weight that slows us down”
and focus on Jesus. Like a boat with its anchor up, we should release our
past burdens to move freely in our faith journey.

Hebrews 12:29 reminds us, “for our God is a consuming fire.”

On Friday night, we’ll identify the “weights” preventing us from

moving into everything God has for us. By the end of the night, we will
bring these “burdens” and present them once and for all to God the
Consuming Fire.

Baptism: A Dedicated Place of Burial
Graveyards and water baptism have one key thing in common – they both
represent a burial. While a cemetery is a dedicated place of burial for the
physical body, water baptism is a symbolic burial of our old, sinful nature.

Just as a cemetery serves as a place of remembrance, water baptism

is a powerful moment where we leave behind our former selves and
emerge redeemed. Since our first Youth Fire week in 2019, we have held
a moving water baptism service on the final night. We have countless
testimonies of the profound encounters students have experienced in
that pool.

Your Baptism Moment

Will this be your year to be baptized? Throughout the week, you’ll hear
from current and former students sharing what God did for them during
their baptism and how it continues to impact them today.

We look forward to meeting you at the place where you will leave behind
all evidence of your former self and emerge as the redeemed of the Lord!
It’s a moment to drop off the old man, bury him once and for all, and walk
in the newness of life as a child of God.

Testimony of Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne

Luke 3:16 KJV - John answered, saying unto them all, I

indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I
cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to
unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and
with fire.

Jesus Christ is the Baptizer of the Holy Ghost and fire,

and this fire is for everyone who will consecrate their
lives completely to the purpose and plan of God. This
means YOU, young person. There’s a flame for every
name! In the early days of ministry, I knew I needed a
head-on collision with God, and that if He could touch
Saul of Tarsus, He could touch me. I also knew that if
I was going to go into the ministry and obey the call of
God, I needed His anointing and His fire. So I became
hungry, thirsty, and desperate.  

This hunger grew from August of ’78 to July of ’79. On

that unforgettable night in July of ’79, I meant business
with God and had to have this fire. I made the decision
and said, “Oh, Lord, tonight’s my night,” and started
shouting at the top of my voice: “God, I want Your
fire! God, I want Your fire!” I kept shouting for about
20 minutes, and my voice became hoarse. I didn’t feel
anything; however, that didn’t stop me. I kept shouting,
“God, I want Your fire!”

Then suddenly, it was as though someone poured

By God’s grace, that same fire has carried me for more
than 43 years of ministry and to 88 nations worldwide.
It’s the fire of God that changes everything. Once He
touches you, you’re never the same. And this fire is
available for you TODAY, no matter your age!

The fire of God shapes you, makes you, empowers

you, and enables you to carry out His will for your life.
Remember, when God touches you with His fire, He
touches you with a purpose! Even as a young person,
you are an extension of the ministry of Jesus Christ
and called to be a continuous carrier of His anointing
