Q18. Read the text given below and answer the questions based on it:
One day, the sports teacher was absent from school. So, all the students of class IX
were making noise in the playground. HOD allotted that period to the maths teacher.
So, she made all the students busy, the teacher gave the following problems on
triangles. Students started solving them.

i. In the given figure, AC bisects ∠𝐴 𝑎𝑛𝑑 ∠C. If AD =5cm, then find AB.

ii. In triangles ABC and DEF, AB=FD and ∠A=∠D. These two triangles will be

pencil is ₹y. She gave a hundred rupee note to the shopkeeper. Based on the given
information, answer the following questions.

i. Form a linear equation using both variables representing total cost.


ii. How much money does shopkeeper return to Sarita?

Q40. Case Study based-5
Anita, a housewife, wanted to decorate a wall of her drawing room. So, she went to
market and saw a triangular wall shelf as shown. The sides of the triangle which is
in contact with the wall are of measure 1.2m, 3m and 3 m.
Based on the above information, answer the following questions:

i. Calculate the semi perimeter of the triangle.

ii. Find the area of the triangle.

iii. If the area of the equilateral triangle is 16√3 cm2, then determine its side.
