STEP 1
Lay out patterns according to
numbers in the top left corner where
A1,A2,A3... are side by side in a row and
B1,B2,B3... are side by side in a row
right beneath your row of “A” pattern
pieces. Continue until you use all your
pattern pieces. Tape together these
pattern pieces and then cut them out.
Be aware seam allowance is included.
STEP 2
Take out the fabric you’ll be using to
create your garment. Now pin your
pattern pieces to the fabric and cut
out the fabric along the pattern’s
edge.

STEP 3
Pin the front and back bloomer
together at the crotch. Sew seam with
a ½” seam allowance RST (right sides
together).
STEP 4
Take the lining and outer fabric and
pin along the leg holes RST (u shape
on each side). Sew together with a 1/4”
seam allowance RST.

STEP 5
Turn fabric right way out and press
with an iron.
STEP 6
It’s time to sew the side seams. Fold
Fold on line fabric in the middle of the crotch
seam to line up the side seams (RST)
and pin.
STEP 7
Your fabric should resemble a square
with a hole in the middle by this step.
STEP 8
Make sure you align the seams on the
lining and outer fabric. Sew the ends
together with a ½” seam allowance
RST.

STEP 9
Turn your Ruffle Bloomer right side
out and iron flat. They will now
resemble shorts!
STEP 10
Sew a line 3/8 away from each of the
leg holes. The lining and outer fabric
will be sewn together in this step.
STEP 11
Sew another line( 3/8”) above the
already sewn leg hole stitch but leave
a little unsewn hole at the side seam.
STEP 12
Cut a piece of 1⁄ 4” elastic according to
the leg row of the elastic chart. Attach
safety pins to each end.

STEP 13
Attach one safety pin right outside the
hole between your lining and outer
fabric. Use the other to guide your
elastic through the hole in your
second stitch.
STEP 14
Overlap the two ends of your elastic
and sew down the middle of them.
STEP 15
Sew the hole closed.
STEP 16
Sew the ends of the top facing
together with a 1⁄ 2” seam allowance
RST.

STEP 17
Find the center of the back ruffle
bloomers and put a pin in it. You can
find the center by folding your
bloomers in half.
STEP 18
Pin the seam of the top facing to the
Ruffle bloomers’ center back pin RST.
Pin them the rest of the way together.
STEP 19
Sew this with a 1⁄ 4” seam allowance
RST.
STEP 20
Iron your facings unfolded with the
seam allowance laying toward the
facing side.
DR E S SI NG AL I C E R UF FL E B L O O M ER S E W I N G P A T T E RN
STEP 21
Now iron a fold at the seams so that
your facings are folded toward the
wrong side of your bloomers.
STEP 22
Sew a line 1” from the top seam. You
should be sewing through the facing
and the bloomers.
STEP 23
Fold a 1⁄ 4” toward the back on the
remaining facing and pin it down.
STEP 24
Now we’re going to go through the
same process for elastic with the top
facing. Cut a piece of 1⁄ 2” elastic
according to the waist row of the
elastic chart. Attach safety pins to
each end. Attach one safety pin right
outside the hole in your top facing.
Use the other to guide your elastic
through the hole in your top facing.
