Term- Part time/ Full time

DESCRIPTION:

This is a PAID co-op placement/internship for a student or recent graduate interested in gaining
corporate experience in the Human Resources field. You will have the opportunity to get exposure to the
different HR functions and support the HR department in other areas, including training, employee
relations, creating policies and procedures, report management and special projects.

What to do:

As the Human Resource Intern, one will work closely with the guidance and supervision as a team
member on tasks and projects under the guidance and direction of Director, Human Resources. Some of
the opportunities you will have access to are but not limited to:

 Be a critical resource in supporting the expanding growth of the Canadian workforce. This will
include participation in onboarding/offboarding, the creation of policies and procedures, and
updating the employee handbook.
 Expanding the onboarding materials and process.
 Participating in and ensuring smooth integration of business units into HR processes.
 Identifying and analyzing training needs (where applicable).
 Solidifying the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion activities across Canada.
 Reports, presentations, and rollouts as appropriate.
 Assist with company-wide communications.
 Supporting and assisting with implementation of monthly Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
initiatives and virtual events.
 Assist with New Hire e-onboarding tasks.
 Responding to staff inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related
matters
 Preparing HR reports on a weekly, biweekly, and monthly basis
 Member of the Social committee and collaborate on gathering details for and preparing monthly
Wellness /Social Committee Newsletter.
 Participate and contribute to the Joint Health and Safety Committee monthly meetings.

WHAT one going to learn:

 University or college student studying in a Human Resources or equivalent program, or a recent


graduate looking for experience.
 Strong computer skills with a solid understanding and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
 Previous experience with office procedures and practices preferred.
 Strong analytic skills.
 Able to work well on their own but is also able to work as part of a team.

Good understanding of human resources operations and best practices.
